James and Chris came out to troubleshoot a whole-house fan that apparently had not been functioning properly for quite some time. They took the time to get into the attic, trace the problem, and discovered that the issue wasn't actually the fan itself but the way it had previously been wired and configured. They were able to correct the problem and get the system working beautifully. What impressed me even more was their responsiveness and attention to detail. After they left, I noticed that a nearby ceiling fan was no longer working following the electrical work. I sent James a message, and they immediately turned around, came back, found the issue, and corrected it before leaving again. Both James and Chris were friendly, professional, respectful of my home, and careful to clean up after themselves. They genuinely seemed to care about solving the problem correctly rather than simply getting in and out. That level of service is increasingly hard to find. During a 100+ degree hot spelling in early July, the AC in our rental townhouse in Rancho Cordova, CA, stopped cooling. The landlord told us she couldn't get an AC repair technician to come out until the following week. Late afternoon on July 3, with the upstairs temperature about 93 degrees F, I called James at Ultimate Comfort Solutions. He agreed to come out the next morning, July 4. James quickly determined that the large capacitor in the compressor unit was bad. As he carries a large selection of capacitors on his truck, he was able to install a new capacitor and clean up the unit. The AC was immediately back up and running. James was very nice, had a great attitude, and was very honest and trustworthy. Unlike some AC repair shops, he didn't try to deceive us and claim that this old AC system needed to be replaced. James fee was very reasonable, and we were grateful he was willing to service our AC on short notice on the 4th of July. James fit me into his busy schedule right before a span of 100+ degree days since my AC had been shutting off intermittently. He replaced the dying components and performed routine maintenance/service on my system. He went above and beyond by quickly diagnosing what parts were "on the fritz", cleaning the outdoor unit, putting more insulating tape on the existing sun weathered insulation, and had my system blowing air from the vents that was 20 degrees cooler than my ambient room temperature pronto! My house cooled from 77 down to 74 in a half hour - it's never done that in the 4 years I've lived in this house. The cost of labor + parts was EXTREMELY REASONABLE and honestly I felt like someone else would have charged me MUCH more for doing FAR less. If you're looking for someone for your HVAC needs who is honest, pleasant, thorough, professional, and highly-skilled then LOOK NO FURTHER! He was very informative and explained exactly what needed to be replaced, along with approximately how long it would take and his quote was very reasonable. He made sure he was available to work around my schedule and showed up early and was ready to go by the scheduled time! James and his crew made sure the new system was up and running the same day, even though it was a complete replacement of condenser and furnace. My AC has been struggling lately to keep up with the heat waves, and despite constantly running it hasn't been able to cool the house down, leading to insanely high electric bills. I gave James a call and he was able to come out the very next morning to take a look and provide me a detailed explanation of the HVAC system, what the issues are, and possible options to replace/improve. At no point did he pressure to replace anything that didn't actually need to be. Before leaving, he went out of his way to fill the AC system with coolant to get me by for the next few days before being able to replace the necessary parts. James came recommended to me from a friend who is very experienced in commercial HVAC. I was looking for a service guy to evaluate and service the two AC units at my house (upstairs / downstairs). Not only did James check all relevant parameters and service both units, he also, without asking, improved the coolant lines insulation, telling me he can't leave until the units run at their best and that's just part of what needs to be done. Ultimate Comfort Solutions are the right people for the job. We had our air conditioning and furnace installed by them and couldn't be happier. We also had a whole house fan installed. The jobs were done with excellent craftsmanship and they were quick. Mostly UCS took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me the best solutions for my requirements. There was no overselling or bologna being shoved down my throat. If you're looking for a quality job with excellent value use UCS. Of course if you want to overpay please use another company.
