Today the scheduled winter maintenance was performed on my AC/Heater unit. The service was performed by Cyrus. He did an excellent job performing the maintenance and corrected a few things he noticed that weren't necessarily part of the normal maintenance. Customers beware! I called one of their HVAC technician on April 12th. Clerical told me it will be $90 just to come out. Good price no lie, technician came out supposedly did a check up on my system when our system was blowing cool air not cold, technician said it was due to wiring problem gave us a expensive quote, he also supposedly checked the gages to see if a recharge was needed but said it was still fine NOT a refrigerant issue. Ok? No thanks, I'm pretty sure thats incorrect. I called for new HVAC services in Marysville. He came out took a look at the system, cleaned the coils, checked out the pressure to find that a recharge was needed. Charged $80 a pound for 3 pounds, paid $240 total. AC blows cold now, air comes out at 55 degrees verses the 73 degree. Glad I took my service somewhere else. read more

They are fast but also overcharge for things that could be simple fixes. We used them for our commercial properties. Quoted us with a $800 fix. I sent another HVAC company out and they reported back that the tenant still needed to call PG&E to get the gas turned on... This company banks on your ignorance. read more

Rich was the absolute most condescending sales person I have ever had dealings with. I called to set up a quote for a whole house fan and he proceeded to tell me over the phone (without ever looking at the property) what I needed and how I obviously didn't understand what the requirements were. I called back and spoke to the owner Bob Spencer, who is a professional, but informed him that Rich was such an utter disappointment and that due to that horrible experience that my business was lost for good. I do not have the time nor the patience for a business that I'm willing to spend several thousands of dollars with give me any attitude, especially when making first contact. Paid $1024.00 for replacement elements on water heater. Two men showed up and spent two hours replacing. Couldn't drain water heater all the way. Left it like that. Asked for breakdown of bill (parts and labor) but company refused stating that they operate on a tier system. Will never use again. Complete rip off. Brent sold my elderly mother a thermostat that must be programmed, then was unbelievably rude (threatened to leave on a service call) when I pointed out that for years she had been using it thinking pressing the up and down arrows (without pressing the hold button) made a difference. He explained what he found and made suggestions for me to keep my unit running great and efficiently. Thomas was very knowledgeable and helpful. He noticed my gutter was full of debris, and my unit uses it to drain condensation from the a/c. He helped to clean it out. They were unable to fix our heater, and billed us $275 when they estimated us at $125. They told us they would come back when parts were ordered (turned out to be 2 months) and left us without heat. They told us they wanted to come back when the parts were ordered and it would cost us an additional $125 plus any labor costs. Was looking to get new HVAC system installed in my home. Was hesitant in buying from bigger companies out of sacramento and wanted to stay local. Rb Spencer was highly recommended. They sent a salesman out to look at system and he informed me I was to receive a quote in an email. My intention is to pay cash and not finance. Never received a quote. I left a message with the web site and was given a return call apologizing for not receiving a quote. Yet once again my email is 100% quote free from RB Spencer. Called RB Spenser to check out why my A/C was freezing up. I told them the fan was not coming on and the lines were freezing up. The guy came out to check it out and told me we needed a new capacitor for the fan and a recharge, I don't think we needed the recharge just think he was trying up sale us being the the A/C work the same before and after but that's beside the point. So long story short the problem was not fixed called them out to check the same problem and they charged me a second time to check out the problem they miss diagnosed and they still couldn't give me a straight answer what's wrong with the unit. I tried two times to talked to them about the second diag charge to see if they would to see if they would let it go. They never returned my calls. If I ever need heater A/C work I won't be calling them. RB Spenser returned my call the next day and waved the second diagnostic fee which was nice of them. I'm not a 100% happy with the out come but they made it right to this point. read more

Three weeks and still waiting, over 100 every day!!!! worst customer service ever!!!! In December 2014 I purchased a brand-new Lennox heating and cooling unit from R.B Spencer in Yuba city, with a 5 year warranty...... apparently without even coming out they know the coil inside has a leak! I guess Lennox units are known for that. But Spencer's isn't bringing anew coil they have to order that. They just want 1200 dollars to come look at it"Wth" one person on the phone told us sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get a bad one "Really I spent 7,000 dollars " another person at Spencer's told us it was normal for the house to be 95 when it's 105 outside!!!! WHAT the heck are you talking about Lady... In my opinion if Lennox knows their coils are bad they should fix them! And R.B. Spencer's should bill Lennox for the repairs..... read more

Absolutely horrible service. Had scheduled maintenance when I called on the day of to confirm with the mechanic they had rescheduled with NO notice. Also asked the service manager DARREN if they work on a particular unit and he said they did, when the service tech arrived he knew very little and was unable to repair.
