I recently used Ultimate Events for tables, chairs, and coolers for a surprise party. I was really impressed with their service from start to finish. My sales rep Tim was very helpful and attentive to my inquiries and order requests. When picking up my rentals the men working in the warehouse were just as courteous and very helpful. They load and unload the items for you, which is amazing! The actual items rented were in great condition and the overall prices are pretty reasonable. I will be a repeat customer for any future events. I wish I could give this review more stars, as I was really impressed with the customer service and products they offer. read more

My daughter's initial wedding plans were changed due to Covid, and Ultimate Events helped us pull off a beautiful wedding at a private residence. Tent, tables and chairs, decor and chairs and an arbor for the ceremony. They were professional and timely and things couldn't have been more beautiful! We recently worked with Ultimate Events for a very large pre-wedding rehearsal party for 210 friends, family, and neighbors that we hosted at our home 9.30.2019. The coordinator, Allison Munsell, was helpful in every way in deciding what to rent as we not only coordinated the event, but cooked many of the specialty food items so we needed expert advice. She was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She and her team visited our back yard several times to be sure the tent was a proper fit. She helped me decipher exactly what needed to be rented and was flexible for last-minute changes that needed to be made. The lighting staff was also amazing. They recommended cafe lights to be strung in our large oak and pine trees and the effect was magical. The female staff was equally lovely and patient. I really believe that our party was a success in large part due to their staff. You really cannot go wrong with this company. I have very high standards and I recommend them highly!! read more

We rented from Ultimate for our wedding in September 2020 and our experience with them was flawless. We rented everything from tables to dishware to linens and worked with Kris to make sure we had everything we would needed. She was patient and thorough and made really helpful suggestions along the way to make sure there were no last minute glitches. When we found that we needed more glasses (the day before the wedding after the stuff had been delivered) she had someone on the road within an hour to get it to us. It was a truly frustrating experiencing working with Ultimate Events. We had three categories we ordered from them: chandeliers, twinkle lighting for the ceiling, and draping for our stage. We'd given them photos for inspiration and the end result for the lighting aspect at least was spot on and magical. For the draping...we're still really upset by what had transpired but with the help of our day of coordinator we managed to get closer to our request. We had requested draping to flow down from the stage area as if curtains for a theater and despite multiple site visits by their team they still miscalculated and installed our draping well below the height we'd requested of them. We were working with Allison and while she was nice and professional, it was difficult to get a hold of her. Her responses were sporadic and as the day drew closer, this was legit the only thing that entire week my husband and I were stressed about because we weren't getting the answers about the draping that we needed from her. We spent the better part of two months trying to finalize a quote from her and literally signed off on the order and quote the day of our wedding! That is absolutely unacceptable to leave us in the lurch like that. If there are issues with the work order, it should be communicated to the customer regardless. My husband and I would have been very understanding if there was an issue with some part of the order and willing to make it work. To leave us in the dark until the day of the wedding was discourteous and unprofessional. I would hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends and family, but if you are planning something simple without too many moving parts, Ultimate could probably get you there. A fair warning, we found out waaaay later in the process (the week of the wedding!) that they're required to hire outside help for the hanging of the chandeliers so that could be a delay in getting a quote. Overall, I wouldn't hire them again just out of the amount of stress they'd put us under by not finalizing details until the week of our wedding. Maybe that's standard in the industry but for someone like me that likes to check things off her list and forget about them, it was not okay. read more

I've used Ultimate Events on numerous, high-stake projects and they always deliver - if not over deliver. Not only are they competent in what they do, everyone whom I've worked with seems to share a passion for their job which can be a BIG plus when you're trying to make the most of an event. Thorough, competitive pricing, available, knowledgeable, and experience. Unprofessional and disrespectful. Hired the company to handle equipment rental in advance of an event. Unfortunately, the person I was working with on their end was going on vacation, I was promised this wouldn't be an issue. Despite confirming with 3 different people and getting an email that my equipment will arrive on time, I received a phone call from the owner the day before saying my whole order was cancelled. Instead of trying to fix the issue, the owner of the company (!!!!) was flippant. My company works with a lot of vendors, but we will blacklist this horrible company. Go with someone more professional instead, like Apres, Midway Party Rental or Broadway. Horrible, horrible service and no regard for the customer. read more

What an awesome company. We used Ultimate Events as one of the vendors for our wedding at Como park. We needed a 20X20 tent set up, along with approximately 45 chairs. Dawn, one of the customer service agents we primarily worked with, was responsible, quick to respond, flexible, and totally understanding. The order was spot on, and they were quite amenable to helping us out. We needed to borrow 25 chairs for the Sunday brunch, and were able to pack them up and return them the following business day after the wedding - without any extra charge! Woo hoo! Also, they also contacted us about a possible discount as a second wedding immediately after ours might need our tent. It didn't end up working out, but how many companies offer a potential discount as the same supplies were going to be used (at the same location). Two thumbs up. Awesome customer service. Trustworthy and definitely worth using on your most-stressful wedding planning/day! read more

I wanted to give these guys a good review because before my wedding, they were very helpful. However, on the day of my wedding, they really didn't deliver what was promised. I got special permission from the park we were having our wedding at so the delivery truck could arrive an hour and a half (2:30 PM) before the wedding began, to ensure it would all be set up correctly and promptly. The truck didn't arrive until 3:15, after the delivery man had called my mother saying "Well it doesn't need to be ready until 4:00 anyways." Both my father and stepfather had to miss family photos so they could help the delivery people get it set up before our guests arrived. Unfortunately, it didn't matter because a lot of our guests had to stand a bit and wait for them. Not something a bride wants to deal with the day of her wedding! My advice would be to save yourself a headache and look elsewhere. read more

We had our wedding ceremony at a park in Minneapolis. Overall, the person we worked with at Ultimate Events was easy to work with, and the products were good. We got pretty basic white chairs for $4 a chair. The parks department only allows people to rent items from Ultimate Events or Apres Party. I'm not exactly sure why Ultimate is one of the parks recommended vendors because they don't work super well with parks or the park's guidelines. We asked if they could deliver it, and while they could, they required a two-hour window before and after the ceremony time (kind of like how the cable company says they will come to your home between 9-2 because they can't anticipate how long other appointments will take). When you rent a space at a Minneapolis park, you have to rent it by a few hours at a time. So we could do 12-3, 3-6, or 6-9. We chose 3-6. So we didn't have the space rented long enough to get everything delivered. We rented 100 chairs, speakers, a mic stand, a mic, and an amp. We ended up renting a U-Haul, picking up our items, storing them in the U-Haul overnight, and then driving the U-Haul to the ceremony spot the next day to set up. Then we had to have friends do the take-down and load them back to the U-Haul. It was kind of a hassle and we would have preferred delivery. Also, the park we were at didn't have electricity, and Ultimate Events didn't have a generator or battery-powered sound system. So we had to rent a generator elsewhere. read more

I want to start with a disclaimer that I never actually used their services but I would not recommend them. I contacted them initially in February 2014 to get a quote for chair rental for my wedding. I also contacted the other preferred vendor so that I could compare the two to see who was cheaper. Ultimate Events was slightly cheaper so I wanted to use them but the cost for chairs was SO much higher than I expected. For example, they charged $100 (I think it was) for picking up chairs after normal business hours. So, I told them that I needed to think about it because it was over our budget. Months later I contacted them again to check on whether they still had chairs available. They are a prominent company so I knew that they would. They said that they did but that they were almost fully booked for the day and had to "move some events around" and that because of the inconvenience they had to increase the price. They increased it by $361 and wouldn't honor the original quote that they provided even when the contact person KNEW that we were having a difficult time paying for this already expensive service. I was planning on giving this company almost $1000 to use chairs for a half an hour ceremony, but after this I went with the other company who DID honor their original quote. I will happily give my $1000 to Apres now. This company does not value its potential customers and I will never use them. read more

I wouldn't even give this company a star if I didn't have to!!!!!! I should have listened to the other bad reviews when signing on to use this company. Kind of interesting how their first few reviews are from 2011 and 2013 so that you don't read the more recent ones! Not only could they not put a tent up straight that my husband and father in law had to take time out of their day to help them, but they then put up faulty lights and left them as if no one would notice several of the light bulbs not lighting up .....tacky! They were planning on leaving the tent until my husband said something and got out his own equipement to help them. When we called regarding the lights ( that we paid 600 extra dollars to have them put up in the first place) they stated and I quote" we know they don't work but we have never had complaints before ". Are you kidding! Where and when is it ever okay to use materials that don't work and then tell the client they are wrong for expecting it to work? When they came our to finally fix it and we asked them to add a few more lights because we had ultimately paid for them- they just laughed and said we are just here to fix the ones that are broken. We had to pay for every single small piece- including garbage bags liners along with the garbage pails and when they came to pick up their tent and materials they just left the over flowing garbage bags in the. middle of my lawn so all the garbage went all over the neighborhood. they could have at least tied the bags up, put them together, or even put them In the larger garbage pin 20 feet away, but I am sure that would have cost extra. This company would have ruined my wedding if it weren't for my wedding planner who had to add extra lights to make it what ultimate events said they would do in the first place and what we had paid them for. We ended up needing to add a second tent because we were wrong with the size. I get that they needed to pull some strings to help but instead of charging a little more then the tent would originally be they charged three to four times more! Then putting up that tent ended up putting a line down the middle so that we couldn't use the space anyways. When we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and make things right, they took NO responsibility and offered nothing back in response....not even sorry. They showed up 7 hours early to put up the tent waking us up and didn't even apologize for that. I have never taken the time to write a bad review but this was a most. I would never give my money to this company again and I would highly advise others against it. read more

Worked with us the whole way to make a backyard wedding. Large tent, tables, dance floor. We are novices at this and made lots of changes and that didn't phase them one bit. They worked very well with our caterer (Chowgirls) and there was no conflict. Everyone knew their job and they made it easy and seamless. We would definitely use them again. read more

Very unprofessional and rude. While we did end up getting everything we needed set up for our wedding working with our sales person was great until the 2 weeks leading up to our wedding when it became was very difficult to get a hold of him and every time we spoke to him it was like we were bothering him. He assured us we (in a very rude manner) that we didn't need to be at our site while the crew was setting up the day before our wedding. However when we arrived for our rehearsal the set up crew had no idea where to set up the tents, were missing pieces of the tents and didn't have half of our order. While I was trying to figure out where the disconnect was a member of the set up staff asked me for a lighter for his cigarette rather than helping with the problem. Once I connected with our sales person he informed me that they are "very busy" this time of year and he failed to mention the rest of the order would arrive at 8pm. I would expect any professional company to communicate with their customers no matter how busy they are. Not only was there a lack of communication our sales person turned our conversation around and made it out to be my fault that the confusion was happening. Our sales person did show up at our site to ensure everything would be taken care of which I appreciate however I tried to talk to him and he ignored me. Fixing the problem was great but will not make up for the most horrific customer service I have ever seen. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more
