Let's begin at the beginning. I went in knowing I wanted them, a few months back. During the consultation it's obvious they know what they're doing and talking about. During this, options are provided, as well as the what would be best for me personally, and next steps. I felt excited and comfortable talking to Candice about my new hair journey! During this appointment, I scheduled my hair strand test, to ensure the color would work correctly on my hair. This took about 1.5 hours and occurred a few weeks later. Fast forward to last week, I was in the chair and ready for my extensions! I was at the salon for six hours as I chose to get my color and extensions on the same day. I was so pleased with the entire experience! The vibes in this place are happy, fun, positive - the team knows how to work hard and have fun while doing so! I just loved the energy! They offered me lunch, wine, and great conversation throughout the day. I was also able to connect to WiFi and work throughout a lot of the process, which was convenient. Let's not forget the Spotify playlists. The music here is amazing & I left with two new playlists. At the end of the transformation, they provide documentation letting you know how to wash, style, and take care of your extensions. Letting someone online in your home can be a bit scary but I went out to greet her and introduced myself. Once in, she made me feel super comfortable and I entrusted her with the color she thought would be best on my skin tone without over doing it. Once done I had an idea of what it was going to look like after it settled in and it looked perfect. I am super busy and hardly have time to go spend hours by the pool. This was a great solution to my weekend event that I was going to. I got a ton of compliments and loved the way I looked. When I got my…read moretrim, he talked about how he has "growing hands" and can blow my hair out just like the Dominicans and really made it sound like he knows what he's doing...even with natural hair. Well I decided to go back to him and to let him blow out my hair. Mind you that I have been working hard for 2 years trying to get my hair to a natural healthy state and finally I was there. My hair was shiny and soft and manageable, especially after that trim that he gave me So... I sit in his chair and without evaluating my hair 1st he says that he shows me this Dudley's redefining conditioner that he uses on my hair after washing then proceeds to try and blow my hair out. Well, needless to say, I left the salon looking like a rag doll, hair stripped and dried out from that conditioner. When I expressed discontent, Tyrese started making excuses, like....what do you use on your hair at home, well maybe you need to bring that with you next time and finally, well maybe you need another relaxer.?! Except...I don't have a relaxer. I guess he forgot. I would also like to point out that not only does Tyrese not take a moment to assess his client's hair, he also does not have the right tools to perform a blowout. HIs blow dryer was not hot enough and he used a mini flat iron on my hair. Ladies, we know that a mini flat iron is not going to generate enough heat to really straighten and smoothe our hair.... Furthermore, he doesn't have the technique to do blow outs and CANNOT do a Dominican blowout without giving up as he did with my hair. So, since I sat in his chair for a simple wash and blow out, I have been struggling to stop my hair from breaking and falling all over my sink. Now I have to work to get it soft and hydrated again and to grow out the broken strands so all of my hair is even as it was before. Unfortunately, it's going to take some time. But I learned my lesson...if someone is talking about what they can do the way Tyrese was, don't trust what they are saying. The last time I went to this salon, my experience was disappointing. $40 for a haircut and $15 for a trim. What is the difference? Not to mention, the stylist (Tiara) does not seem knowledgeable on natural type 4 hair and did a less than average job giving me full highlights. I paid almost $300 for full highlights, and after she was done you couldn't even see them. Ain't nobody got time for all of that when you're busy !!!!! Pretty Mane treats clients like human beings. I booked an appointment with Tiara on a Friday evening for the next day. The phone etiquette they extended was phenomenal. This salon is very pretty and feminine. Beautiful colors. Once I arrived Tiara greeted me and took my temperature. I scheduled services to remove a sew in, Silk Press and dust my ends. Tiara is extremely kind and professional. She did not take another client while styling me. She did not rush through my service. She took her time and was meticulous. She cleansed my hair perfectly. She didn't overuse shampoo, scrub hard or use products to weigh my hair down. She finger detangles your hair and did not abuse a comb or wrestle with my curls. When she finger detangled the conditioner is really worked and I was very impressed by this technique. The wash chairs were extremely comfortable with a leg rest to elevate your tired feet. Tiara used the perfect temperature to wash and rinse my hair. She did a really good blow out and the press was perfection. Lastly she wrapped my hair and sat me under the dryer to lock the moisture in. Loved this technique ! My hair has a lot of body and shine. We discussed products and the new GK smoothing treatment that is best if you want to have less frizz and versatility as a natural. I can't wait to visit Tiara again and bring my little girl. I am truly 100% satisfied with my experience today. That's a lot coming from me. There are a lot of talented stylists who work here. From natural, sew-ins, color, braids, Brazilian blow outs.
