First I want to let you know that I am now driving 24 minutes to get my spray tans from Portsmouth to Smithfield because it is so worth it. I've been to the "chain" ( SUNDAYS) tanning salon around our area and am so tired of feeling like I'm buying a car every time I walk in to just get a tan. Not to mention the pricing is OUTRAGEOUS! I decided I was over it and there had to be a better experience. I went to Ultimate Tan and can't say enough about the personable, exceptional experience I had with Leslie. She was so informative and even checked me after I sprayed to make sure I was going to be even. The Versa Spa Plus is so much better than the regular that the chain carries. The price includes your prep and hydration after your spray(which has proven to be so important to the life of my tans). If you purchase it all separate at other places, it costs even more! I am now a member and will be going weekly to get my sprays at Ultimate Tan!! Also, I should mention that my tan with the extra leg pass (extra leg color) has lasted 8 days now! They charge top prices for spray tan - $45 w- but provide what should be a discounted experience. We went last night and the young woman working kept talking about how too many people were coming in - 30 minutes before they closed. Then asked the other woman working if she really needed to clean all beds after each use - and then didn't. Her friends came in for a visit and she went out and smoked while others waited for rooms to be cleaned. They changed the foot protection for spray tanning from easy to use footies to cut pieces of contact paper impossible to separate. Best place locally to go tan! All of the staff is kind and helpful. I started coming a year ago with little to no knowledge of tanning and they got me set up with a perfect tan that last. They aren't over crowded, I've never had to wait longer than ten minutes for a bed. And the best part is how clean the facility is kept! I never worry about the beds not being cleaned properly! I bought a year membership loved going found it relaxing but didn't over do it just wanted the vitamin therapy. Bought a $30 bottle of lotion when I signed up. Hardly used it. But every time I went they asked to see it and my eye wear. Great policy. I was in Walmart and saw lotion and bought it for $6. Next time I went to salon I asked if it was ok they said no. So I never used it. Every time I went in after that I felt interrogated and uncomfortable. Months later a new girl said "I see you use Walmart lotion" I said no I asked once but didn't...does it say on my account. she said yes. No wonder they questioned me and acted like they wanted to go through my purse. I called the manager, no apologies nothing. I asked to be out of my contract she said that was unheard of. 4 weeks later not even a call to give report after talking with girl about the note on account. Bad ,bad customer service. How embarrassing to be accused of using another cream. Was never told I had to only use theirs. Apparently all other cream ruins their glass. Credit card company said only manager can release contract. Never a follow up call, but she'll take my payment every month. read more
