I have a friend who runs a small business, and his philosophy is that he wants people to feel good when they pay him. Paying Ultra Clean felt like being robbed. The total of their services was to send a twenty-year-old kid to plug in a dehumidifier and do a few asbestos tests. The price? A cool $2,300. After digging into their invoice, it was clear that Ultra Clean over-billed me on multiple line-items. Their own evidence shows they did under two hours of labor, but I was billed for 3.5. Photos show their workers didn't use PPE, but I was billed for PPE. They billed me for two hours of "coordination", a number that defies belief when physical labor topped out at two hours. They added two fees that totaled $600 without any real justification. When I asked Ultra Clean to explain their billing, they told me to ask ChatGPT. After a week's worth of back and forth, they hit me with this gem: "These are not inflated prices, these are industry standard line items." To which I say, the lady doth protest too much, methinks. Cherry on top: Ultra Clean quoted me $15K to do the repair on my home. I declined. A second company completed the work for $2,700. When I pushed back on the billing discrepancies, their ambulance-chaser of a lawyer filed a lien on my property and threatened foreclosure. Once it hit that point, paying Ultra Clean was simply cheaper than fighting them. Which seems to be their actual business model. If you search Minnesota court records, you can see that they're doing this sort of thing almost weekly. They've had multiple lawsuits against them. They've changed their business' name a couple times too, and each one has the same reputation for terrible service and billing practices. And their scummy billing practices don't stop just because you've paid them. After everything, Ultra Clean tried to get me to fork over another $1K in legal fees. I didn't--they had filed the lien before the invoice was even due. Apparently they know their way around the legal system but struggle with a calendar. All said and done, I would've rather been robbed. At least then I would've gotten exactly the treatment I expected. read more

My brother passed away at my home in April 2025 and I regretfully used Ultra Clean for hazardous clean up after Deb seemed very kind and sympathetic to my loss. After the contract was signed it was a night a day difference, the owners charged $8k for cleaning a bathroom and kitchen, turned so rude through the insurance process and only added pain and agony through the loss of a family member. They were threatening in nature and began a lien on my home. Even after being paid in full they continue to harass us and invoice us for additional fees. Please check BBB reviews and stay far away from this predatory company...only seeing insurance dollar signs and won't hesitate to make your life hell and try to get your house foreclosed in the process!!! read more

Robert came to my house to test for what I thought was a mold issue. Turns out no mold. He did advise that we had a humidity problem in our attic space and made recommendations on how to resolve. No charge for the visit and Robert was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. read more

I was so confused and wondered if she was talking to the children around her. I called again and she hung up. Racism at its best! Wish I would have read the reviews and done some second opinion searching before working with them. Hindsight I was completely ripped off. This company is only out for the money- and not in a solid business type of way. I ended up filing a home owner's insurance claim to help cover the insane cost of their work (which I later found out was WAY more than they should have done) and my insurance couldn't get them to submit their documentation, didn't return calls, and wasn't responding when the insurance needed them to support the work they completed. But when it was time for them to get paid, I get a nasty call from the owner stating I need to have the insurance overnight the check. Never again will I let an emergent situation stop me from doing my due diligence about reading into a company before working with them. This situation will haunt me for years to come. I feel robbed and taken advantage of when they knew we were already in a horrible situation. read more

I had a water damage in my basement and I called this company and talked to Deborah. She was very sweet on a first call. I wish I could have checked their reviews online. That was my biggest mistake! I had a worst experience with them. They billed more than it should have been for the resotration cost. I would say fraudulent insurnace claim. The money I got approved and received from insurance was for both restoration and repair, but they used all the money only for restoration without my knowlege. Ultra Clean is a nightmare company. I wish we would not have been in an emergency situation when we trusted them with our issue, we would have read all the other reviews of home owners going through what we are now. They came out to look at our situation and ended up doing further damage to our home. We did not go with them due to the required asbestos test they insisted we needed to our newer home (which we found out was a lie). They then refused to submit the claim for their day's work to our insurance company, while we were waiting for their invoice, we received a letter stating they were applying to put a lien on our home...this is actually how received our invoice from them. The cost was over TWICE the amount that the company we went with charged us, now I understand why they would not submit to our insurance. Deb and Bob (the owners) actually threatened us when we called to ask them to submit their claim to insurance. Please learn from our misfortune. read more

Ultra Clean Service Corp is a SCAM. Deborah, the owner, called me and acted so sincere initially when I had a toilet overflow and many thousands of water damage in my house. Her team was quick to remediate the damage. As soon as they got a hold of my insurance money (over $20k), they sent unlicensed subcontractors that left my home unlocked, took weeks to do nothing but sheet rock and paint, all the while I had bathrooms that were gutted leaving my house unlivable, she and her project manager blew me off, entered my home without permission after they were fired, and eventually blocked my emails while trying to resolve things. Now I have to take them to court to get my insurance money back, while paying for another contractor to finish the job who found they damaged existing tile, hid wires in my ceiling, left mud on my garage floor and were all around sloppy. My job was a little on the small side and while she didn't directly work on the problem she spent what probably totaled a few hours talking me through how to take care of the small amount of mold myself. I was assigned to work with Deborah and Ultra Clean Service Corp to rectify a basement flood caused by improperly installed appliances. If you are ever assigned (or recommended) Deborah, RUN! DO NOT WALK, RUN AWAY! Deborah is a fast talker, who does not like to provide written documentation. She laid out an "action plan" for my property without ever visiting the site - tried to push carpet on me as a replacement material for a utility room. She never provided a scope of work or contract to me or anyone else handling the remediation work. Her technician cancelled his appointment with me multiple times throughout a week, only to show up, "work" for 3 minutes and then leave my property without discussing the process/what he did. She needlessly delayed my project for a week to bring me flooring samples - only to bring me floating floors (which she tried to say were not floating floors - after we all agreed that I did not want a floating floor material), and materials that would not work for my application. To add insult to the matter, she admitted that over the course of the week, she only stopped at one Menards - not even a flooring store! In the end, due to catching her in multiple lies, half truths, and unprofessionalism, I demanded that she and her team be removed from my project and have the repairs run through insurance who provided me with a licensed, bonded, and reputable contractor. read more

Ultra Clean Service Corp is a HORRIBLE company to do business with. In May, I had flood damage due to a toilet malfunction. I called Ultra Clean to mitigate the damage. Initially, I had no problem communicating with Deborah, who claims to be the owner of the company. She sent Mark B., her Operations Manager to my house the very next day. Mark seemed honest and trustworthy when he came to assess the damage, until I paid the company $2500 for the clean-up. Mark no longer answers his phone, voicemail, or text messages. I was able to communicate with Deborah for a few weeks until I decided not to go with her subcontractor for the repairs. She is no longer answering her phone, voicemail, or text messages. Do not believe their website when they say they are available 24/7. THEY WILL IGNORE YOU ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY! My kitchen and dining room has no ceiling, my bathroom has no flooring, my hallway carpet is cutup, and they left 12 large garbage bags of debris on my driveway. My repeated requests for an official invoice to submit to my insurance company, debris removal, and a refund of a portion of my deductible has continued to be ignored. If you are looking to hire someone to clean up your water damage or mold remediation, LOOK ELSEWHERE because this company will happily take your money, leave the job unfinished, not provide proper written documentation, and stop all communication with you. read more
