I am actually reviewing the UMC Primary Care location on Buffalo, just north of Lake Mead Blvd. Excellent care from Tanner Pimsakul,MD. Very thorough and arranges for excellent UMC follow-ups and referrals to specialists as needed. The office staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. They have a policy of requiring a patient to reschedule if they are more than ten minutes late. I learned the hard way, but appreciate that this policy allows one to be seen in a timely fashion rather than be delayed by a string of latecomers. Great practice all around! read more

Nurse practitioner also a waste of time, took personal calls during my evaluation and questioned my health diagnosis. For how much money I pay for a visit and waiting to see an MD after months, I expected better quality of care. I was referred from another UMC primary care as apparently I didn't have an MD assigned and was only seeing an RN. For having a heart condition (hbp) the doctor didn't even touch me. You would think he would listen to my heart? Go over all the meds I am taking and discuss each one instead of just not refilling certain ones? The visit was 5 minutes long. I understand some doctors don't have the greatest bedside manner, but this doctor just appeared uninterested, tired and over his job. I just hope I don't have a heart attack or some other issues due to the lack of competency. This was Dr. Roose. Will be requesting another doctor or leaving UMC all together if I can't get a better MD assigned. read more

Been coming here for Dr Ferdinand Tan for over a decade. Staff are friendly, Sara, Erica & Kelly. Always treated us like family, no long wait time. Request for refills & referrals always acted upon immediately. They have a new big nice building now & new staff added. Joanna C was the MA who took care of us. She was very nurturing but professional, detail oriented & efficient. It's the feeling of being important, issues being addressed & needs really taken care of by Dr Tan and his wonderful staff. This review is specifically for UMC Southern Highlands. They've been my primary care provider for 5 years, initially it was fine, my primary care physician was adequate and I was satisfied, in the last 2 years this facility has degraded to a third world level of health care. I haven't seen my physician in over 18 months, the nurse practitioners routinely give out incorrect medical information (like the presence of antibodies means you have complete immunity, just heard that one this week), and they are practically incapable of processing referrals. I haven't seen my neurolgist in 18 months because they haven't been able to fix the errors in their referral document (wrong location, wrong doctor name, etc.). It's insane. I've just changed my primary care as I can no longer trust my health to these people. read more

The first impression is should always be the best impression. Unfortunate that this is not the case at Mr. Tan's office as you are very aggressively instructed to sign papers, waivers, take your temperature. I like to be treated kindly, the people at the front desk treat you the exact opposite of that. The waiting area is very clean and Mr. Tan usually comes out to see you on time maybe around 5 minutes late. You are then asked a series of very intrusive questions by another staff member who thankfully communicated in a non-aggressive manner. I feel like some of the questions are unnecessary and have zero impact on any doctor's visit. Then we got Mr. Tan. How he conned his way into wearing a lab coat, your guess is as good as mine. He intermediately alters my prescriptions without asking, only telling me he was doing so, mind you. One of the scripts was even ready for same day pick up but then got cancelled, that was very frustrating for me. He asks you questions but doesn't seem like he understands your situation or basic human elements. He does not prescribe any medication that he does't approve of, even if it is effective and very necessary to treat my health issues. A long story short the visit ended with him suggesting some unhealthy lifestyle changes, and refusing to treat my underlying health problems with medication or any plan whatsoever. If you value your health, and want someone who listens, cares, and is determined to help treat your illness. You will not find it here. I hope nothing serious happens to anyone who gets injured or misdiagnosed from Mr. Tan. read more

Peccole primary care is terribly run. The lack of compassion is astounding. After reading that Nevada takes medical staff that have been kicked out of other states it makes so much sense. Go private. Tried to bring my mother-in-law into this clinic...my wife and I have been going to doctors visits with her since the pandemic in 2020 (eye doctors, ear doctor, family doctor, etc) this is the first place that would not allow my wife to translate for her, and would not allow all three of us into the room together. My wife has to translate for her mother and I have to assist with medical terms and words that my wife can not understand. This clinic forced us to attempt to use a translator, my mother-in-law could not even get through the consent forms, let alone be able to tell the doctor why she is there. After giving multiple opportunities to this location, they have time and time again failed me. In short, the Dr., the Nurse Practitioner, and Billing are why. I will provide detailed explanations as to why: 1) My first visit was with the nurse practitioner who throughout our entire visit made many, MANY crude jokes on my behalf that I did not appreciate. I'm all for jokes, but with all due respect, I'm there for a medical purpose and my career, and the way I look/my strength/weight has nothing to do with this so I don't understand why it is you're making jokes about such things. 2) My second visit was with the Dr. and from the get-go, it was bad news. There was a line for the front window because whoever was working the front was on the phone for approximately 5-10 minutes since I had walked in. Once she hung up, she was getting upset with the people at the window (not me) for not moving fast enough and getting what they wanted out there. One of the people at the window had a language barrier too which is unacceptable. After a long wait, it was my turn and the nurse (not the practitioner) was going on a very long rant about how hard her life is. How she regretted having kids, and I should reconsider if I don't have any yet, etc. It made me very uncomfortable. Then when it came time to see the doctor, I understand they are always in a rush going from room to room, but when you are in my room be with me in my room. He made me very uncomfortable with how uptight he was and how rushed he made me feel. Unacceptable. 3) And lastly, when I saw the nurse practitioner I requested annual blood work to see how I was doing. I was referred to Quest and got it done. Outside of the fact that I got the results and it took them over 2 weeks to get with me to explain the results because I don't understand, there was one very big issue. I received a bill of over $75 from Quest which I shouldn't have with the insurance I have. I contacted my insurance first who looked over the referral, and they stated the billing didn't put the right referral code. I called this office who told me they would fix it no problem, and they asked for the number to insurance, which I provided. They get back to me later and stated they can't get through to my insurance, that they aren't letting them speak to them, but the code is right so it is what it is. I then hung up and contacted my insurance who stated the information was false, if a doctor's office was attempting to call on my behalf, not only would they let them speak, but they would have it on record that it was attempted. Nothing was on record. Just to make sure, they provided extra phone numbers to call. I called the office back and provided the extra phone numbers. That was a week ago. Today, my insurance still hasn't heard from anyone. I called back today, and information was relayed that "another attempt to contact was made with no luck". Never have I been more swindled. To the office: Shame on you. I'm a first responder, and you are a disgrace to the realm of saviors. To the people: You know my story, it doesn't mean it will happen to you. I'm not recommending anything, I am simply sharing. I will not be back, shame on you. A disgrace to the oath. read more

Update: mom is out of the appointment, she's upset because she doesn't understand what happened, doesn't know about the changes to her medication, they wouldn't listen and obviously bullied her around she was told just to give me a packet of paper, and I am apparently just supposed to become an md and understand. ***oh and beware you have stand outside in the heat for upwards of 10 minutes before someone comes out to greet you!*** Was so excited to get my mom am appointment on our side of town! Unfortunately UMC's Covid protections prevented me from going in with her UNLESS YOU HAVE POWER OF ATTORNEY, we NEVER would have switched primary care doctors had this been disclosed at ANY POINT prior. Our elderly need to be protected not preyed upon, which is really what this feels like. read more

I have been going to this office for a couple years now because it's convenient. I have found though, that they fail at calling to go over lab work, and this time specifically, I stopped by, because they don't get back to me. I noticed some things in my lab work that could possibly be a cause for an antibiotic and the front office lady wasn't listening to the fact that I leave for a week tomorrow and if there are any medications needed, I won't be able to get them until I get back. She just kept telling me the doctor has 24 hrs to contact me, which should be the case, but he never does. I'm very dissatisfied with service today. It's extremely hard to talk to anyone when even calling this office. It goes to an answering service, never the front desk. Very disappointed today. read more

I have been coming to this place for 2 years now. And every time I have an appoint, the African-American front desk lady is always rude! She doesn't have any kindness, compassion or atleast fake it since she's in the front. I had an appointment at 8am. I was probably one of the first patient. There's no way she's tired already. The follow up appointment was to discuss bloodwork. I got a phone call a week and a half before my follow up appointment to say it was canceled. No reason was given for my cancelation. I had an issue with the staff while living in Las Vegas now I'm living in Michigan and nothing but ISSUES AGAIN with this staff. I called yesterday because I had 1 refill left on my Vitamin D script that unfortunately expired the end of January. You can NOT talk to the front desk you must leave a message to be passed along. I was told today that someone called and left me a voicemail telling me to get the prescription from a Doctor in Michigan. WHAT?!?!! FIRST of all I did not get a call, do NOT have a voicemail from Kelly and I still had 1 refill left so what's the problem? THIS IS A VITAMIN NOT a narcotic! This is the WORST office I have ever dealt with in LIFE. My first and ONLY visit I couldn't get in to see Dr. Tan so I saw Dr. Coleman the Practitioner instead. The absolute worst healthcare facility I've ever been to I tried sticking with Dr. Tan for a little while just to see if he was actually good doctor. Him nor any of the nurse practitioners are good the front desk sucks they never have a consistent front desk person. I do not recommend wasting your time and money to come here. The location of the Clinic opens services to a new cadre of patients. The staff is overwhelmed with the ratio of staff to clients at this new location. The staff (from the receptionist to MD) are cordial; respectful and accepting of questions. I was VERY PLEASED the MD (Dr. Tan) made the appointment a collaborative effort. I had only seen Dr. Tan once before and made a 2nd doctors appointment over the phone - the representative didn't ask me what the reason for my visit was so I didn't think my doctor wouldn't be able to help me. The earliest appointment they had was 4 hours later. At the time of my appointment I paid my $15 copay. When I saw my doctor and explained the pain I was experiencing he said there was nothing they could do there to help me. They also told me they couldn't refund t copay. So I paid FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I was seen for less than 5 minutes. They told me I have to go to urgent care and they called ahead to warn them I was coming. When I got to the Urgent Care and checked in the lady was shocked at everything I had to go through that day. She said that since I went to my doctors office and paid the copay without being helped or served that she would only charge me $25 instead of the full $40 urgent care copay to help right the wrong. I was thankful and was finally helped for my issue. Weeks later I receive a bill in the mail for the $15... and after requesting for this bill to be audited the representative tells me that in the documentation it's stated that I requested to only pay $25 of the $40 urgent care copay. I obviously did not request this, and it's really screwed up that people reworded what actually happened in the documentation, and that my word means absolutely nothing to them, AND that after going through that much trouble in the end NOTHING was done to correct the wrong that UMC initially caused. read more

This is the absolute WORST clinic ever! They do not help you at ALL they are just paper pushers that send you all over the valley so they do not have to help you! In addition, if you schedule an appointment for a late Friday afternoon, they call you at 8:15 am and tell you to go to urgent care! Why would i go to urgent care when I have a primary care doctor? The nurse practitioner just wanted an easy Friday! So after waiting a WEEK for an appointment, it was cancelled and I was advised to go to urgent care. I'm at the end of my rope dealing with the referral office associated with Dr. Tan's office. For the past 4.5 weeks they have lied, misdirected, and what I believe is delaying the process of my much needed referral paperwork to qualify for a mobility scooter that is covered under my insurance. As she was typing, she was also cussing up a storm because she kept messing up her notes on the computer. Extremely unprofessional in my opinion. i have been a patient here for about two years. This particular office is horrible when it comes to patient response. My pharmacy has been requesting a refill of a necessary medication for 5 days and received NO response. I have called this office multiple times but they have their phone forwarded to the appointment line. They refuse to answer their own phones. The appointment line has called twice and received NO response. They sent two priority messages today with no response. Meanwhile I am left with no refills and 2 days left of "loaner" pills from the pharmacy. How Can medical office conduct themselves in such a way? Dr. Bibi Omar, she is in the UMC Primary Care Group at the Nellis location. She is one of the most caring primary care physicians I ever had. I have been a patient at UMC for over 8 years and I find her to be the best. She sees you and she hears. As an African American woman, a lot of physicians see me but don't hear me. Every time I see her I feel I have been appropriately treated and prescribed appropriate medications. She is excellent when it comes to follow-up. She sends your labs, prescriptions, and referrals the same day you see her. I highly recommend her if anyone is looking for an excellent primary care physician. We need more physicians like her. read more

If I could I would not even give a single star. This is the worst primary care office i have ever dealt with. Just cancelled my appoint again without contacting me. This was the 2nd appointment in as many weeks with getting in contact with me. No one bothers to review test results but phone in new prescriptions for you without telling you or reviewing test results. But they really want that Annual Medicare appointment which is worthless. Needless to say I am searching for a new primary care doctor. And the staff doesn't care one bit about the inconvenience, there are other forms of communication beside a phone call, try email, text message but reach out to your patients. read more
