Ok, so file this in the probably-shouldn't-admit-this-but-here-we-go-anyways.. Our daughter had her first dental visit here this week, and she's five. I think you're supposed to take them around two or three, but then the pandemic happened, life happened, and, well, here we are. She gets pretty nervous for the doctor, so she was certainly nervous for this. However, the friendly staff here is so experienced and so helpful that her first check up and cleaning went splendidly. No wait either, which is so nice because it cuts down any lingering anxiety. Our baby tagged along for the visit and they gave her some toys to keep her entertained. The dentist was gentle, explanative, helpful and overall great. Additionally, we knocked out all the insurance paperwork easily beforehand on their website. A highlight for my daughter was when they let her pick a toothbrush and a prize on the way out of the door. Glad to find our pediatric dentist in KCMO (without having to drive out into the 'burbs), and really recommend them. I was leaning towards just making an appointment at my "grown-up" dentist, but after seeing how thoughtful and geared towards children this is, I recommend them, or at least a pediatric dentist if you're seeking out what to do for your kiddo(s).

He and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They clearly love kids and know how to interact with them. They make us feel so relaxed and special when we come. They explain everything thoroughly and don't force us into products and procedures we aren't fully comfortable with. Plus, the office is gorgeous. I love great interior design and this place is so clean and warm and welcoming, and very kid friendly, with soft furnishings and bright colors. My third appt was to get some cavities filled by Dr Jessup, I had no issues with pain before the fillings but now am in a lot of pain and it's been 4 months since then. So I was not happy with that. I went in today for a cleaning from Dr Hutchinson, she was super kind and helpful on a plan to get my tooth to no longer hurt, she said that the filling I was given needed to be fixed and that should solve the pain. Overall I would definitely reccomend the office as the desk gals and hygienists are wonderful and so is Dr Hutchinson but I wouldn't reccomend seeing Dr Jessup. Also the location is kind of interesting to get to but once you've gone once it'll be a breeze to get to again. They do have a parking lot which I appreciate, and the office is very cozy and clean inside as well!

Dr. Wilson has been absolutely incredible with my family. She has performed two surgeries on my six-year-old, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. She was patient, gentle, and took the time to make sure both my child and I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. She even reached out after hours both times, to insure he was back to normal and not having any issues coming off of anesthesia. That level of compassion makes all the difference, especially in situations that can be scary for kids (and parents!). Next month rolls around I get an email saying I am passed due and they tried to charge my card again the first of the month. I found Blue Valley Pediatrics on a local Facebook mom group that was recommended by many. It's relatively close to my work so I took a shot and my daughter and me are hooked! Scheduling an appointment was easy and I was able to do all the initial paperwork online before the appointment. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe here was so calm and relaxed. My daughter was smiling and laughing throughout her appointment and her hygienist explained everything in such a kid friendly way. Such a better experience than Parks Pediatric Dentistry. We will be return patients for sure!
