I went to this place to grab lunch with some friends before heading to the airport. It's a typical tavern vibe, and I have to say that the service was surprisingly amazing! I say surprising because when we entered and for most of our meal, there was only one person waiting on tables despite several people entering the establishment--she even made everyone's drinks behind the bar! I ordered the Unbranded Smash burger since I was really craving one, and the photos looked amazing! Unfortunately, I would rate this burger a 3/5. The patty lacked flavor and honestly wasn't juicy compared to plenty of other smash burgers that I've had at other places. The pickles, cheese, and condiments honestly saved the burger some. I also ordered a mango virgin daiquiri, which was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Once again, I'm so surprised that the single person waiting on tables at the time was able to expertly make the drink despite handling everyone's orders. I feel like I might've just had a bad luck of the draw since my friends seemed to enjoy their meals since there was flavor. They ordered the Baja Fish Tacos, El Paso Hot Chick, and Mushroom Swiss Smash. My friends and I ate here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The menu has typical bar food - mostly burgers with some tacos and sandwiches as well. The place got decently busy but we were able to get a seat and get our food fairly quickly without any problem. Special shoutout to the waitress working that day, as she was the only one on the floor for a while but still did a phenomenal job taking everyone's orders, making drinks, and bringing out food -- while still taking the time to constantly check in on each table. I ordered the Mesa St. Smash burger and I thought it was delicious! The burger was really juicy, flavored well, and was really big. The burgers come on Hawaiian roll bread (unless specified otherwise on the menu), which I thought was really tasty. However, since it's 4 mini rolls toasted together, they do fall apart easily making it a little difficult to eat. The tots and fries were got as sides were super crispy and delicious! I also ordered a peach iced tea with my meal. They use unsweetened iced tea and then add in a peach puree syrup. I absolutely loved this since the tea was not overly sweet and had a nice peach flavor. I highly recommend ordering this for a refreshing, not overly sweet drink! read more

A very casual spot to grab a drink at the bar or some eats throughout the day. What I appreciate most is how they run a well maintained and clean space no matter at what hour you go. This spot tends to be more of a pit stop for us when we're going from one spot to the next and want to decompress. You're given the chance to have a drink and not be drowned in crazy music. The staff have always been super nice and very welcoming. Drink prices are more than fair and they feature a full bar. Now I haven't had the chance to grab a bite but I always see plenty of people digging in. The restrooms for paying patrons are also super clutch. read more

We Visited Unbranded Tavern & Kitchen on a Saturday after 11am after a quick Google search for restaurants that serve breakfast all day. The restaurant is located across the street from the San Jacinto Plaza in El Paso, Texas (best known by the locals as the "Plaza de los Lagartos). There is no street parking, and the garage next door is for "contractors only." We parked at a parkmobile location by the coffee box one block up across the street. There was only the option to pay half a day for $13 or a full day for over $20. Paid for half-day parking. The restaurant is pretty, and even though it has more of a bar feel, it is cozy. The service was just right. All the food was pretty good; We ordered the unbranded burger, street tacos, and machaca. Their cucumber mint cocktail was delish. Nice spot! read more

Right in front of San Jacinto Plaza sits this gem. Really doesn't not feel like a spot you normally get in El Paso, but I am glad it is. It has a rustic, elegant vibe to it. We got there early, so it was two other couples inside. Waitress took our orders quickly. She was very friendly and made you feel welcomed. My wife got coffee, and I got a frozen espresso horchata. DAMN that was good. Had a fine ice texture, not too sweet, very good horchata flavor, and that espresso kick you expect. We were brought some pork rinds and house made salsa(I asked if they sold it separately, it's that good, but they do not.) Very good starter We ordered their rolled tacos with half green sauce, half red sauce. Honestly, these are far superior to chicos or any other spot that has something similar. Packed with flavor and good amount of heat, meat was seasoned, they were thick too. Also ordered the Mesa St smash burger. Green chili queso, pub mustard, pickles. Sandwich with hawaiian rolls that you cut into.sliders. this was diabolically good, paired with beer battered fries. It was perfect. OH, and the best part of it was a crispy cheese skirt... Americans with Disabilities Act Discrimination (ADA) Review based on experience, unfortunately we didn't try any food or drinks. For a year I have been meaning to visit this restaurant. The all-day breakfast caught my interest. After fan-girling over their menu today I finally convinced my husband to check it out for brunch. We went, sat by the bar and had my husband's service dog (a 20-pound french bulldog) quietly sit with us by the bar. Quickly after we sat... the bartender and the manager informed us that due to the Owner's guidelines we could not stay and had to leave. No dogs allowed even if they were a service dog. This is unlawfully against the U.S. Americans With Disabilities Act. We never felt so low and discriminated. We will be reporting this incident to the appropriate agency. If you have a disability, or require a service animal PLEASE DO NOT go through this disheartening experience at this restaurant. ADA requirements are not met at this establishment. Staff were not at fault they basically explained that leadership requires this enforcement. This establishment is not meeting national regulations & they will be reported. read more

I've been here 2-3 times so far and enjoyed the visit each time. The dining space vibe is casual but comfortable. The menu is simple but has all sorts of options to choose from and the service has been quick and pleasant each time. My favorite part might be the homemade chicharrones that come with salsa to start (similar to chips & salsa but different). I've been here two or three times now and I must say they have a great location, great service, but only okay prices and okay food. This one is hard for me to review because I really want to love them. That's why I waited after a few visits before doing this. They are right across the Placita de Lagartos and I have been wanting a new place there for a long time so I'm a supporter overall. I've had the tacos, they are probably the best item on their menu however, you don't get anything else on the plate. No rice, no beans. This is El Paso, where I can go to a hundreds of mom and pop shops for similar tacos and side items for a lot less. Their fries are good, they have a distinct beer infused cheese flavor. The wrap was not okay for me. It was a huge portion but lacked any flavor for me. I will say though, check it out for yourself. Well, let me tell you about this swanky new pub I stumbled upon in Downtown. It's got a prime location that couldn't be more perfect, right around the corner from my favorite NY Deli. I was craving some poutine, so I figured I'd give it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did! First things first, the location is absolutely beautiful. The pub has a charming vibe that just makes you feel at home. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and attentive waitress and bartender, despite ordering my food to go. They made sure I had everything I needed and gave off a really chill vibe. Now, let's talk about the bathrooms. They were surprisingly nice and well-kept, which is always a pleasant surprise. However, there was one minor hiccup. The stall I used didn't have any hooks, so I had to place all my stuff on the floor. It's a small detail, but it would have been nice to have some hooks to hang my belongings. Oddly enough, it looked like the hooks were hung outside, which seemed a bit strange to me. As for the food, I only ordered one item since I had already eaten dinner. I must say, it was a little pricey, but the quality of the ingredients made up for it. They definitely use top-notch ingredients, and you can taste the difference. The only downside was that the portion size was a bit small for my liking. I would have loved to have more on my plate, but hey, at least the quality was there. Now, when it comes to the poutine, it wasn't the usual gravy type. It was fries with a bit of fried cheese curds, and the chorizo added a kick as well as the salsa and spicy chipotle looking sauces, but I would prefer the classic. Everything was packed well and the presentation was still great. Nonetheless, if I were meeting up with friends downtown this week, this pub would be a great spot to chill and wait for the games. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, and the friendly staff adds to the overall experience. So, if you find yourself in Downtown and craving a cozy pub with good food and a prime location, give this place a shot. Visited and sat at the bar mid-afternoon after arriving in El Paso after 2 flights and 7 hrs of travel. The initial wait while the staff chatted amongst themselves was starting to get frustrating, but I may have been a little impatient. Once I got on schedule they became more attentive with the drinks. I ordered a "El Paso Hot Chicken Sandwich with tator tots. Although it seemed to take a little longer to get it, but when it came it was great. This was made from scratch and it tasted delicious. It was huge too. The place is a small store front but it fit in with the rest of the town square. All in all. I love trying new places and I was so excited for this one. However the service was garbage. Took probably 45 minutes to get loaded tots and rolled tacos. Two other tables who arrived after us received their chicharrones and salsa (apparently complimentary) and their food and when we finally got ours I said "that took forever" the response was "we had a big table". The big table was there when we walked in so nice try on the mediocre excuse. We honestly got a lazy server and it showed. The place wasn't packed to the point that would deem the service or response received. I asked how we could order the chicharrones and salsa, since they aren't on the menu (remember they're complimentary) and she said "I can bring them" I declined her offer, the fact that I had to ask alone was ridiculous. The food was good but the rating is because experience was horrible and the experience alone will deter me from returning or at least ensuring we're not served by this individual. All the other servers seemed on point from my observation. Tables got their drinks and their "chicharrones and salsa" and the "BIG" table is still here. Make it make sense. I know exactly why I am giving this eatery only one star, and why I'll never return. ¡TOO LOUD! This us a complete reversal of my first opinion a month ago. I, and three others, attend the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Saturday evenings, sampling different eateries downtown. Last month, our first visit to "UNBRANDED" was exceptionally pleasant, the meals were delicious, and all personnel exceptionally agreeable. This month (yestereve, 21OCT2023), we returned for another enjoyable meal. I was shocked! The very same location, the same agreeable employees and master head chef, ALL of those positives were completely reversed by the electronic jukebox churning out sounds at an incredibly high volume. The loudness absolutely assaulted me, leaving my senses battered/bruised/ears deaf and ringing that continues to interfere with me effectively hearing reasonably well. Even the excellent food (Benny eggs) was impaired--my brain & body couldn't wait to get out of there. The sad part is that I couldn't enjoy EPSO because of my devastated hearing. My now-negative assessment was parroted by my comrades, though it appeared that other patrons were apparently enjoying themselves. NOT ME! I was downtown for a work event and a group of us decided to try this place out. I ordered the Mama D's Chicken Sandwich with fries. When I got it, it looked delicious. I took my first bite and there was a long hair in that bite. I don't usually complain because I worked in food services and I understand things happen and we are human. But then I took my 3rd bite and there was another long hair in that bite. I decided I wanted a new sandwich and I let the server know what happened. Her response was "ok" and she just looked at me with a blank stare. I asked her if I can get a new sandwich and she said ok and took my plate. By the time I got my new sandwich, the whole table was done with their meals and had already paid. When I got my new sandwich, I didn't even get a "sorry" or have a manager come to the table to apologize. The next thing the server said to me was "it's $24 for your meal ma'am, how would you like to pay?". Of course I paid for my meal and I even tipped her. Because again, I've worked in food services and I know servers work mainly off tips. I still had some sort of service from her so I thought it was only right to tip. But I can say I will never be back here again. The least I could have gotten was an apology for the hair and inconvenience. I had to rush to eat my food and rush back to our work event.
