I have been a loyal customer of Uncle Dan's Pawn Shop North Dallas since 2019. I first met Eddie as I was kindly greeted in the door. I personally am in healthcare and Eddie not only displays respect for everyone that walks through the front door, but his customer service is above exceptional. I have not only pawned , several times, a very expensive wedding wedding ring worth over $6000 and there has never been damage to my ring and I have pawned it multiple times. I was just there at Uncle Dan's Pawn Shop-North Dallas yesterday, 8/18/22. I saw Eddie, not only got my ring out of pawn but in addition purchased a beautiful new wedding ring I had been talking with Eddie about for months. Unless you like to throw away your money and jewelry, don't make the mistake of taking a loan or selling your jewelry to any pawn shop, including this one. You will get 3-4 times more selling jewelry on ebay, phoshmark and any other app (there over two dozens) or through Craigslist and by going to Nextdoor or through flyers. Unless someone is holding a gun to your head and you must get cash within a day, selling or taking a loan through such predatory businesses is dumb. And I have yet to see anything that they sell at their stores that isn't either lower quality, too worn or well-priced. Good items don't go to pawn shop. You won't find the best there since you can go to auction houses (Christie's, Heritage Auction, First Dibs, and other auction outlets.) Customer service isn't bad for any business that is "legally taking advantage" of the fact that you must get cash within a day. Even if I had to get cash within a day, I would try every other outlet before I step inside a pawn shop. I regret having done business with a pawn place, not only because they don't give you much consideration for having worked with them for years, but also because they charge predatory rates on interests and will pay you on average 10-20% of the retail price on very easy to sell premium popular brands. I don't even know what they offer for non designer brands. Having said all of that, Uncle Dan isn't the worst pawn shop in terms of customer service experience. They are courteous and professional. That is of course relative to other pawn shops where you don't want to be unless you are absolutely desperate. read more

I recommend this pawn shop for two reasons: 1.) I was greeted at the door and I felt like I was being listened to - not stared at, I didn't feel uncomfortable. 2.) for what I was selling, they gave me the best offer by a long shot. They explained where their offer was coming from, so it was easy to make an informed decision. This was the first place I went to and it should have been the only place I went to. I have sold a few items at Uncle Dan's. I did research prior to going to see what a true and fair market value was for them and had a price in mind that would be mutually beneficial (set expectations with yourself that they are taking the risk of having to market and sell it so of course will offer slightly lower than what it will be re-sold for). The negotiation was easy and both parties got to explain where they were coming from on the number requested/offered. Since this has been my experience with multiple employees now I feel good about utilizing Uncle Dan's in the future and recommending it to my friends. read more

I went into Uncle Dan's to look for firearms and the Manager was helping another lady but the lady who was helping me kept asking him if he could do a better deal and he came back astronomically high on every single gun. I understand they are in the business to make money but in order to make a deal there has to be some play in the prices and he was firm. I have researched the prices a lot of the guns are going for and their prices are absolutely ridiculous! I would not recommend going to this location to purchase firearms. read more
