Doesn't look like a a fine dining location but this place is the best Italian restaurant in the area. We were invited by friends to go to Uncle Eddie's, a place they had been to many times and liked. Before going, I wanted to get a flavor for their menu so I checked out their website. This was disappointing. They show a prix fixe menu on the site but don't offer it at the restaurant, or they didn't offer it to us. When you click on "Dinner Menu", no dinner menu is presented. This was disappointing. Ok, off to the restaurant. It's a week day night and the "off season" just started. Fairly good crowd that should have had more servers. Those that were working were somewhat overwhelmed. We did wait a fair amount all night, but that gave us time to talk. We had a great server, Jennifer. She acknowledged the wait and tried to do everything in her power to make our experience pleasant. The kitchen made mistakes on salads but quickly corrected them. After I complained to someone who looked to be a manager, the table-side prep of the feature salad began and it was conducted by the owner, Eddie. A very affable guy, he made us feel welcome. Our entrees arrived and they were very good. The experience wasn't a bad one but I think it would have been much better if more people were on duty to serve the patrons. Excellent pianist/vocalist during dinner and usually a performance by owner Eddie sometime during the evening. I really, really wanted to like Uncle Eddie's but no matter how hard I tried it didn't happen. My family and I went there on Christmas day and sadly, from the moment we sat down we knew it was not going to be a good experience. First, it took a server 15 minutes to come to our table. It was extremely apparent that they were VERY short staffed and our server was overwhelmed. They had kids running the food to the tables, and had a table for close to 20 people right next to us that took 10 minutes to figure our where they were going to sit while standing right on top of us as we were trying to eat. There was a very limited, very over priced menu. My husband had the Osso Buco which was 47 dollars. The risotto was watery and the Veal was just ok. We couldn't tell our waiter because he did not come back to our table to see how everything was until 15 minutes after the food came out. There was veal parm on the menu, but we asked for chicken parm and our waiter obliged however, he still charged us the Veal price which was 38 dollars! 38 dollars for Chicken parm? That is outrageous. I have had much better for half the price. the other 2 people in our party had the Lasagna which would have been good if it wasn't cold. We had to ask twice for our water to be refilled and to get more bread which never came. The owner was walking around but never once came to our table. Knowing the restaurant was shorthanded, he should have at least stopped by to see how everything was, it would have gone a long way. Finally, we had enough and asked for the check it took 3 tries because we got the wrong check the first 2 times. Our bill was more than 200 dollars for 5 people for just main dishes and water, no appetizers or drinks. Unfortunately, we will not be back. read more

If you want a big plate of spaghetti go somewhere else. If you are looking for a true culinary experience with good prices you have found the place. The Meatball Pizza, Teresa's secret recipe meatballs, Neapolitan tomato, caramelized onions and dollops of ricotta to die for!!!! Pappardella Della Foresta, House made pappardelle, seasonal wild forest mushrooms, crispy pancetta, shallots with Cognac demi-glace and truffle essence... too good for words and I am so mad at myself for forgetting the doggy bag!!!! And if you love Beef Brasciole, Thinly sliced top round beef, stuffed with prosciutto, imported provolone and fresh herbs, mushrooms and onions with a slow simmered San Marzano pomodoro sauce over sweet potato gnocchi this dish is not to be missed. I think the Bluff's shopping plaza finally has a winner. Hurry and try it before Season.... I don't think that they take reservations. read more

A great dining experience was had by our family this evening. The food at Uncle Eddie's is fabulous, from our Clams Casino appetizer to our Fantastic fresh seafood entrees. We also enjoyed a family style dessert of apple zeppoles in a strawberry rum reduction that melted in our mouths. What was a great added pleasure was the live music playing on the baby grand. August 31, 2018 my friends, my husband and I visited Uncle Eddie's. We live really close but had never trieOn d it. We did not have reservations but really did not need them because the place was virtually empty. We were seated quickly. Our waiter was not on his game that night. He brought glasses and a pitcher of water. Poured 2 glasses of water and then abruptly left. When he came back, he asked about our drinks. My friend and I are wine lovers so we wanted to get a glass of wine. The waiter talked us into getting the bottle "because it would be cheaper". Our husbands said they would have a glass as well. (The bottle of wine cost us $102.00 because of a $38.00 recorking fee) He talked us into salads (our salads cost us $12.00 a piece). Our meals were not anything special. I know mine was Chicken Parmesan and it was 2 wafer thin, heavily coated chicken cutlets, run of the mill spaghetti, and a few vegetables thrown on my plate together. Absolutely no presentation at all!! Our waiter never came back because he was so busy chatting with the table next to us. He actually sat down with his back to us. We overheard the whole conversations. They were from NY so they received special treatment. The waiter introduced Uncle Eddie to them. They were given a free antipasto platter. Our waiter never came back to check on us. But when that table from NY received their food, he was right there with extra cheese asking if anyone would like some. (My chicken had about 2 little pieces of cheese on top and I know anywhere else they ask you if you would like cheese!) So, as you can see, our experience was not a good one and we will never go back!! And it was supposed to be a 40 % savings over the summer. We told the waiter to split the checks and we still walked out of there with a $112.00 check per couple!! Definitely not worth that much money!! We all were stunned at our experience! read more

This was our second time at this restaurant. We did not love it the first time, but friends said it was great so we tried it again. Boy, we should not have gone back. We were seated in a booth in the back And the place was not busy about 7:00. It filled up later on. It took awhile for the waiter to come over for our drink order. They brought bread Fast but waited for our drinks. The waiter came over to take our order. He talked us Into an appetizer too. We were sitting about an hour and the appetizer never came. The waiter came over and said they lost the order. He finally brought the appetizer which he did not charge for. When we finally got our meals, one was not what was ordered and the other was not hot. We could not wait to leave. The waiter said that they did not expect so many people but we had a reservation and it was a Friday night!! Needless to say, we will NOT go back a third time. Ok...this was by far, the WORST dining experience of my life. My husband and I met friends for dinner who had eaten here once at the bar. The first thing we noticed was that there are giant posters of the restaurant's namesake all over the walls. Which is totally acceptable if the man was dead and the place was named after him...but no, Uncle Eddie actually stands around the dining room entertaining himself by singing to his patrons instead of creating high standards and having his wait staff uphold excellence. We ordered salads and appetizers that were merely status quo. Very under seasoned, but nothing too much to complain about. However, the night turned ugly when our companions asked the waiter for his attention and we were told in a very angry manner that he was busy and we would have to wait. He was obviously being over worked but it was still embarrassing to all of us and made us uncomfortable and unhappy. As we were eating our appetizers (about 2 minutes after the arrived to the table) our entrees came out. The young man who brought them was apologetic, but told us that he didn't want to leave our food at the pass because it had been sitting there for quite some time. We ended up taking the dishes and I immediately tasted one of my shrimp. It was very cold. All of our dishes at the table were very cold. We looked for our server and he was again off working other tables. Finally, my husband went and found Uncle Eddie. He apologized and took our plates back saying "I'm not even going to just heat this up for you, I'm going to make new dishes". Wow...that was not even a thought to me that they would microwave my $34 stuffed shrimp. Still trying to have a great time with friends we haven't seen in months, we drank our wine and wait...and wait...and wait...until our server returned to our table to asks if the owner wanted our food remade because the kitchen was backed up and that probably wouldn't be possible. At this point, I told the server we were no longer having a good time and we wanted to leave. We asked him for the check and he ran away from the table. A few minutes later Uncle Eddie returns with our dishes, throws them on the table and says "here's your dinner if you want it, eat it, if you don't want it, leave it, I don't care." I was so mortified. I told him that this was the most anxiety ridden dinner I have had in my lifetime, to which he ran away from the table. Finally they bring the bill and all of our entrees were still printed up for payment. We couldn't believe it!! At the end of this nightmare Uncle Eddie told us he wouldn't take our money for any of the meal or drinks. The hostess, Mallory was the only one in the place who said "I am so sorry that you had a bad experience, please come back so we can make it up to you". I can't imagine she's related to this guy...but if so, someone else taught her appropriate customer service skills. I usually do not yelp negative reviews to this depth, however, another diner warned me not to visit this restaurant and we should have taken her advice. So, let me end on a positive note - if you are over 80, like your food extra cold, enjoy being serenaded by someone who is completely off key and don't mind getting yelled at and embarrassed by people this is the place for you. read more

I usually enjoy visiting this Resturant until tonight. While the food is okay , not outstanding it is a total experience which is why we have been there multiple times.. Tonight , was a total disaster .. I dropped my wife off to go in and meet our friends while I parked the auto mobile .. I came into the Resturant to find my wife lying on the floor with a waiter helping her to her chair .. The floor is so slippery she had leather soles on her shoes and fell backwards hit her head on a table and and smashed her elbow ..The manager never came out to talk to her and Eddie who was singing never once came to see how she was doing ... The wait service was unusually terrible and the waiter asked my wife if she was okay .. Now the best part, the waiter offered to buy us coffee ..No thanks we would have much preferred for the owner to come over and apologize for the condition of the floor or at least asked how she was feeling ...No class at all.. Finally, when I suggested to the waiter they need to get their floors fixed he said maybe my wife shouldn't have worn leather soles , are you kidding me .. A group of seven friends met together for a meal 2 weeks ago. We had all been looking forward to trying Uncle Eddie's. After we were seated at our table, our server came by and told us that he was really busy and would be back soon. After close to a half hour, we had to go to he manager to see if we could at least get a drink. He was extremely receptive and we did get a drink shortly afterward, but the server did continue to be very casual and slow about the rest of the service. It was a disappointment. We all enjoyed the food, but I would not go back with a group again. We will wait awhile and maybe go ourselves or with one other couple. read more

If you remember Carmella's Pizza before Uncle Eddies, you may be disappointed in the size of the pie. Still, the portion was more than sufficient to share between two people, and we took home three slices. Ambiance is a little stuffy for this beach town. Lots of photos on the wall of Uncle Eddie, perhaps. Saw the man in the photos walking around, yet he didn't stop by our table to check in on us. Kind of strange considering we were one of four seated tables and the place is new. My girlfriend and I are in our early 30s, so we felt a little out of place at Uncle Eddies. Don't go! Although the ambiance is nice and the waiter was excellent, the food and Uncle Eddie's arrogant attitude makes it a def no go. We live nearby and have wanted to check this place out for a while. I wish I had done some investigating (review wise) ahead of time. We ordered calamari - it was bland and their famous marinara sauce was marginal. We ordered two specials for our entree's - the Osso Bucco and the lobster ravioli. If you are going to have something on special, then it should truly be special. The Osso Bucco risotto was cold and they just served smoking hot sauce over it - sorry but this does not work. Second, the meat was so tough - it should be falling off the bone. I sent it back and was happy that they removed it from my tab and asked if I wanted something else, I declined. My son's ravioli while delicious, had lobster shell bits on top attached to the small piece of lobster claw placed on top of each ravioli. We pointed this out to the waiter who called over the owner, Uncle Eddie (I believe - as he did not introduce himself) - I politely pointed this out to him and made reference that we were not looking for a discount or anything, but that he should know as someone could choke or break a tooth on it. He took immediate offense and defensively replied that "It's a lobster claw, there's gonna be shell..." and huffed off. Sorry Eddie but you need to tune down your arrogant attitude to your customers. That reply is like saying that finding a bone in a fish fillet is ok because a fish has bones....If you are going to call yourself "fine dining" you (and your cooks) need to step up to the plate and make sure your customers are not getting shells in their food or tough meat when it should have been simmering all day. Very disappointing- we may have thought to try again on another night, but due to the poor attitude of the owner we will not be back. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. This was our second time at Uncle Eddies. The first time was Christmas week. The food was only ok , the prices were high and the service was slow, but we enjoyed the duet sung by our server and the owner. We decided to give it another try with 3 other couples to celebrate their purchase of a home nearby. When we called to make the reservation the hostess was very curt and told us we needed to be there exactly at 7 PM. As we were a party of eight , it took some effort to get everybody there at that exact time but we did it. When we arrived and checked in at the hostess station, we were told it would just be a few moments to be seated. We checked in with her every 10 minutes for the first half hour and were told the exact same thing. Finally we asked to speak with the owner, Who said he would check on the matter. I watched him as he went around the room socializing with some of the elderly patrons. When he finally returned after another 15 minutes he just kind of shrugged his shoulders. All this time we witnessed people complaining about the slow service. It seemed as if this establishment tries to save money by hiring a minimal number of people to service their clientele. Surprising considering the very high prices they charge for the food. We remained waiting for a total of one hour before we finally left in disgust as this was a Saturday night during season. Went there to meet a new friend who lives in the area. We found the pinot noir ( not sure of the brand) to be very smooth . We sat at the bar and found the bartender to be very nice and knowledgeable of their menu. The calamari appetizer was just fantastic. The bread that was served ,came with two dipping sides which was delicious. We shared a Caesar salad and the vegetarian pizza. Both were made to perfection. Eddie was on site , which is nice to see the owner present. We were also greeted at some point by the chef. He was pleasant and happy to speak with us. Absolutely and unexpectedly delicious food. The atmosphere is more typical of something you would see around New York. It's surprisingly elegant, including music starting at 7pm the Saturday evening we were there. We came early and ate from the sunset menu, which includes appetizer and dessert for $23.95. Our waiter said the portions would be small. Makes me wonder what the big plates look like because we could hardly finish. Every single dish was a winner, including the glasses of wine. We celebrated a birthday. They put a candle in the dessert, piped music in and several waiters came over to sing Happy Birthday. I do think this can get pricey if you order off the regular menu and do it right, but it's a very friendly and beautiful place with amazing food. There are several tables outside as well. Let's start off that I'm Sicilian and there's nothing like my aunts Italian food. So I was skeptical about the authentic Italian food at uncle eddies. Well to my surprise it was out of this world. Both my husband and myself had the lasagna. Our guests had the shrimp and pasta as well as the veal parm. Everyone cleaned their plates. The waiter Gary was extremely knowledgeable about all the details of the dishes and steered us in the right direction. The drinks were to perfection... my cosmo was the best I've had and our guest had an ice cold martini w his standard cheese stuffed olive. The restaurant was very upscale with family pictures. The first time I ate here the food and service were fabulous. I've even had a great experience with takeout on more than one ocassion. Given that, I made a reservation for a party of 12 for my birthday. Dinner was Feb 9th and I was so disappointed in the service. It took far too long for a drink order, and even then our waiter (who appeared overwhelmed) skipped one of our guests. It also took far too long for our appetizer, dinner and subsequent drink orders. We even complained to management and the owner, but it did not solve the issue. Our waiter argued with one guest about his dinner order, and failed to bring a dinner for another (when he finally brought her food it was the appetizer portion and not dinner) perhaps they were short staffed, but no excuse. I was embarrassed for my guests. I gave 3 stars though, since we were brought free dessert (again after a delay) and my past experiences were positive. I'll go back, but for sure will request Wolfie, the waiter who was so great during our first dining experience. read more

Happened into here on the advice of Facebook. Thy steered us right. We have a home nearby but there have been several restaurants in and back out of this location and we didn't pay attention when Uncle Eddie's moved in. They seem to have found the right formula, and are doing well. We found a seat at a high top in the bar and were a little unsure at first. Feels like a throw-back rat pack supper club type place, not our usual comfort zone. But the singer at the piano bar was crooning Frank Sinatra, the service (Ava?) was friendly and prompt and we decided to order. Some serious good eating here...my husband ordered the Pollo Scarpariello and I had the Pappardelle della Foresta with a side of broccolini. Delicious! My husband lit up when he tasted my pasta with the wild mushrooms--reminded him of a special dish we'd had in Pienza in Italy and reminisced about frequently. Wine list had a good variety of reasonable but good wines, we were set. Then the unexpected--Uncle Eddie himself took a break from the kitchen and sang a duet with one of the servers--so beautiful! As the evening went on the atmosphere became more lively, with music becoming more contemporary. We will certainly be back! read more

Great food, great service, great entertainment and great people watching! So relaxing! Nobody mentions the huge pile of tasty focaccia and extremely tasty oil and balsamic vinegar dipping sauce with herbs and these incredibly yummy olives floating together that is deposited on your table! Instead of worrying where your waiter might be just relax and enjoy that bread dipped deep enough to get fantastic mix of flavor because that waiter will be back before you finish all that bread. We did not do salads and were glad we saved the tummy space for desert. Chicken Francaise, beef braciole, and lasagna which was all excellent tasting and fresh made. Just when we needed it the water glasses and ice teas were refilled without asking so we relaxed more! Then the most relaxing music started! Decided to have desert to linger and listen to the music longer and not because we were anywhere near hungry after delicious meals. Riccotta and apple fritters with spiced rum sauce for desert was so incredible good compliment to main courses and tasted like definitely freshly made! The food was great but were so pleased with how relaxing was dining at this restaurant!
