We had an absolutely delightful evening at La Masseria on Sunday. We were seated promptly for our 530 reservation and greeted almost instantaneously by a waiter. Our visit coincided with a fundraiser event so of course the restaurant was very busy, but that did not affect service whatsoever. Irving, our main waiter was extraordinarily helpful with the menu and the specials. He guided us each to the perfect entrée for my sister and I. She had the braised short ribs with pasta and meatballs, and I had a filet mignon portobello risotto that was delicious. I would have preferred the fillet to be a little less well done however it was still very tender. The ambience cannot be beat. We sat outside on thie beautiful. December evening, Near the outdoor bar. Our proximity to the bar allowed us to catch glimpses of the Bears/Packers game on the TV behind the bar. The sound was not up so is not to ruin the peaceful atmosphere, but we were still able to follow along which made for even more fun. We came early before dinner for cocktails and stayed late. The bar was busy but still attentive. The Capri spritzer was my favorite, but they also have an array of beers and wines. It was an enjoyable evening from top to bottom. read more

We were two couples meeting for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We meet here all the time because it's the mid point from our homes. We enjoy having their authentic Italian pre-fix lunch which includes a soup (lentils) or a salad or their stuffed mozzarella appetizer which two of us had. It was fresh, colorful and delicious. For our main course, two of us had the CAVATELLI FANTASIA VEGETARIANA** Fresh cavatelli pasta, zucchini, red peppers, mushrooms and onions tossed with olive oil, sundried tomato pesto and topped with garlic crunchy breadcrumbs. The other two had FETTUCCINE ALLA BOLOGNESE Homemade fresh fettuccine pasta with all beef meat sauce. All entrees were amazing. For dessert we had the ricotta cheesecake- worth every calorie and the flourless chocolate cake. The dinner is $28 but there is an additional $12 for the entrees that include fish or veal. Unfortunately, the service was not good this time. We were the only party sitting outside on the patio and there were only a handful of people eating inside. Our waitress basically forgot about us. She didn't take our order until we complained. Our friends expressed that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and they asked the desk at the very beginning to put a candle in our dessert. They totally forgot and had to be reminded after our desserts came out. To save face, they brought out the lemon sorbet with the candle. We don't understand why the service wasn't up to par especially with so few patrons to deal with. Of course the food is paramount in our review. We will probably return in the future but hope that the service returns to excellent. read more

3/6/2026 Dinner wife and friends. Seating inside and outside. Nice decor inside. A little crowded thus loud but no so that you don't have a conversation. The servers were friendly, efficient and professional. We had grilled octopus and Cesar salads both very good. Had lobster pastas, baked Branzino and a pasta vongole. All three were very well made. House wines by the glass. Overall the meal here was very enjoyable and would probably return again to try other offerings on the menu. The prices were reasonable. read more

My friend and I visited last week for Happy Hour. We enjoyed sitting outside at one of the high top tables. The Happy Hour menu offers a wide variety of food items as well as a decent selection of libations. My friend enjoyed a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio and I sipped on a glass of Rosė. All or most of the small plates and drinks were $10 and the portions are decent. We shared a handful of appetizers with the exception of the shrimp with fried polenta. This one is too good to share so we each ordered one. Our server was good we enjoyed our food as well as the ambiance. It is an older crowd and depending on what time you arrive, self-parking and valet are options. Happy Hour is 3-6PM. I had heard that this restaurant has really good food, but it's generally out of my price range. Today was a gorgeous day, however, and I was on PGA west for an appt., and I just went for it. I'm so pleased that I did. I sat outside and was thrilled to see a prix fixe lunch offering for $27. You have several options in each of the three courses. I chose the soup of the day, zucchini and potato puree. It was quite good. Who doesn't love a basket with Italian bread served with a dish of olive oil and capers? The capers were a great addition, although I immediately asked for salt. Both the oil dip and the soup screamed for more salt, but maybe I'm just a salt fiend.Then came my order of Cavetelli Fantasia Vegetarian, with zucchini, red peppers, mushrooms and onions tossed with olive oil, and sundried tomato pesto, and breadcrumbs (although I don't remember seeing any garlicky breadcrumbs). I adore cavetelli pasta. It's fantastic! This was a very good dish. I wanted to box the uneaten portion, and it was really a treat to find a restaurant that doesn't have you do it yourself at the table. It was taken back to the kitchen for a box, like restaurants used to do. Finally came my vanilla ricotta cheesecake, and I needn't say more than YUM. My server was helpful and nice, although she didn't say the prices for the handful of specials, and I've read from food critics that servers should always do so. No matter if you're rich or treating yourself, you'd like to know if the steak special (just an example) is $36 or $76, right? And if the server doesn't tell you, it can be awkward or make you feel like a cheapskate to have to ask. Anyway, that's nitpicking. I plan to go back for another prix fixe lunch soon. Came here for dinner a couple weeks ago. We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday evening. Reservations are recommended during the high season! It's a pretty big restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was very crowded, but we were able to hear each other surprisingly well! The food was good. Food was pricey. Branzino is 57 dollars. Servers were surprisingly pushy. We did not understand until we said something. The waiter mentioned that they needed the table. Our reservation was for 6 pm and we had arrived a little bit earlier as we like to take our time. He also said that if we wanted to stay longer, we could go and sit at the bar. It was right around 7 pm. That's an hour after our reservation. We called the manager who said that they needed the table and they allowed an hour and a half per table. The fact that we came a bit earlier was on us. That is disgraceful and humiliating. Never going back there. They are all about the money. They don't care about the customer. I recently visited, and while the food itself was fine, overpriced, but fine. I was honestly appalled by the lack of basic sanitation from the front of house. I started at the outside bar while waiting for my reservation, and immediately noticed the bartender touching everything BUT a sink: menus, bottles, other staff, even shaking hands with regulars, before diving straight into a deli container of mint with her bare hands. No hand wash, no gloves, just ripping mint leaves directly into my drink. It got worse -- she then poured the rest of the ingredients and used the top of my straw (the part that goes in your mouth!) to stir the drink after unwrapping it herself. I'm someone who doesn't even touch the top of my own straw, so seeing that level of disregard for hygiene in a professional setting was nauseating. When we were seated inside, I noticed the bartender at the interior bar drinking directly out of a cocktail shaker. Even if it was hers, those shakers are typically rinsed in the same sink system used for service and the thought of her mouth on it before it's used again is incredibly concerning. If the front of house looks like this, I can't imagine what's happening in the kitchen. Between the bare-hand handling, straw contamination, and visible cross-contact between guests and glassware, this restaurant seriously needs to revisit its sanitation and training standards. Absolutely unacceptable for a place at this price point. read more

This is the second time I have been disappointed in both the food and their service. Will not go back again. My girlfriend and I ordered the pasta that is done tableside and the pasta then goes into a big cheese ball. It's supposed to be all cheesy and gooey but it had no flavor and we actually had to ask for more cheese. The waiter was never seen again until we called him over to tell him how disappointed we were. He did nothing about it. We were also promised a heat lamp but as it got busier we were ignored and the lamps went to other tables. I can go on but despite it being only steps where I live will never set foot there again read more

A hidden gem!! We frequent salute market often, which is right next door, but for whatever reason we have never stopped in here. I was highly impressed by the atmosphere; it was much more upscale than I was expecting. It's perfect for a date night or for a nice family dinner. I can't remember our server's name (it was unique) but he was wonderful. We shared the beef carpaccio to start which was good, but not necessarily spectacular. I had the insalata Masseria with salmon which was exactly what I was hoping for, while my boyfriend enjoyed the roasted duckling. This dish was very impressive! We also appreciated how quickly the bread service came and how tasty their bread was. We have already decided that we will return soon to try some of their pasta dishes! read more

Had dinner here last night with another couple. Had been next door many times at Salute Market and wanted to try this place. They have a large covered outdoor area with an out door bar and a beautiful indoor dining area. It was a nice night , so we sat outside. Side benefit was we could hear the live music from next door. Service was excellent and our server Erde from Italy was fantastic. Always made sure we had bread and water. We all had a drink . Nice pour. For appetizers we shared a Calabresse pizza and a chopped salad . Pizza had spicy soppressata and Calabrian sausage. Both delicious. For mains our friends shared veal scaloppine and a fettuccine dish. My wife asked if they could make chicken parmigiana ( not on menu) and they accommodated her. I had the Schiaffoni Ai Frutti Di Mare. All was excellent and plentiful. The only complaint is it is a was little pricey. Definitely worth a try. read more

Since their opening, we have dined at La Masseria often. Our recent visit was on a fly, and we were fortunate to get a reservation. The restaurant dining room has a rustic appearance, but with a contemporary accent. They also have outdoor dining along with a half circle bar. The outdoor dining has well-designed umbrellas that protect you from adverse weather. Our favorite choices are the following: Pasta Bolognese, Veal Milanese, ravioli stuffed with shrimp in a red sauce, and tomato basil mozzarella appetizer. My choice for entre for this visit was the Trancio Di Salmomne Con Salsa Alla Mostrada which was very good. The service and entrées were delicious. The wine list is extensive, but the wine poured by the glass was small. La Masseria also has a wonderful lurch special as well as happy hour at the bar area. We enjoyed our lunch, dining and happy hours visits the most. read more

I walked into La Masseria with the idea that I would review it with the "authentic Italian" hat on, rather than the more accommodating "American Italian" measure, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is very nice, with excellent ambiance, not intimate but attractive. Outdoor seating and bar is available, we ate inside, after having a drink at the bar. The vodka martini was perfect and the bartender sharp and professional. The food was really friggin good. I gave this place the ultimate test, based on the fact they had both items on the menu: Linguine alle vongole and Branzino Mediterraneo. And I was in my native Milan. Truly they were made to perfection, 100% authentic. We started with a Caprese and the mozzarella di Bufala was spot on, the fresh tomatoes red and juicy, perfect drizzle of olive oil etc. Very good wine list and the had the Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio at a very affordable $56 for the bottle - Santa Margherita is the most expensive pinot grigio you can find it in stores at about $35, so $56 at the restaurant is a great deal. Service was just great. I asked something unusual that I can do only if my meal guest is amenable to eating the same thing I'm eating. I asked to split both entrees, and bring them in order, the pasta first as a "primo", and the fish as a "secondo", like they actually do in Italy, and of course they did just that. It added to the experience of being home in Milan - but for the language. Seriously, you have to eat here - and make sure you have credit room in your credit card. This place is not cheap, but the quality deserved the splurge. read more

We hadn't been back to La Masseria (in Palm Beach Gardens) in three years. Although their New York and Rhode Island locations were always among my favorite Italian restaurants this side of Italy, the local place just didn't measure up. I was quite curious to see how they had changed in the interim, and I'm glad that we returned. It is still expensive but I was impressed: Our salads were excellent, from the mescaline dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette (a large portion, fresh, crisp and well dressed) to my unusual Caprese (outstanding with nice chunks of fresh tomato, spiraled cut mozzarella, thin sliced zucchini and a balsamic drizzle). Our main courses were good, but a bit inconsistent: the grilled salmon was not that tasty. However, it was fresh, perfectly cooked and accompanied by an interesting mustard-based sauce. The star of the evening was my stuffed pork chop. It was the most tender - - and delicious - - pork chop that I've ever eaten. The stuffing wasn't too much but it was set off nicely against the pork. The porcini mushroom sauce was flavorful without being overpowering and the sautéed escarole base was perfectly cooked. Just outstanding. Our service was excellent, the wine list impressive and the decor modern and comfortable. I was also impressed with how management interacted with everyone - like they were old friends. Food was very good, Service was mediocre to rude. T Our waiter had a table of 12 and did not tell us about specials, didn't offer coffee and dessert. We had to ask for it and after we did he brought the check and wanted close out. So NOBODY ordered coffee and dessert. The restaurant was packed so we didn't want to make a scene and left to get coffee and dessert elsewhere. Will I come back- not sure. There's other good Italian restaurants who have more attention to detail and nice waiters. Maybe the manager should speak to his wait staff about service and attention to detail. We were promptly seated at our reservation time and the waitress offered us the special which was 50% off on bottles on Wednesday's . One of our wine connoisseurs picked the Faust Napa Valley wine and was widely enjoyed at the table . I. Terms of starters we took the fried zucchini and crispy calamari . Both were a good compliment and warm up to the extensive main course. They had a fish special , veal special, lasagna , clams and risotto special to name a few. I chose the vegetariana pizza with a egg in the middle just mimicking their famous Mamma Mia pizza. It was definitely delicious To top it all off, the staff offered an extensive dessert and dessert wine menu. I chose the Apple pie with strawberry sauce and ice cream. An upscale charming & beautiful restaurant with outdoor seating including outdoor bar. Indoor optional seating with dividers between tables and lots of parking available in the back of the building. We went on a Monday night and found it to be quite lively outside. The menu has quality seasonal food items and a terrific wine list. Homemade warm variety of breads served with olive oil and lentils were placed on the table to enjoy with our cocktails. We ordered the special house made mozzarella stuffed with spinach and sliced eggplant. Needless to say, it was melt in your mouth goodness. I had the scallops over risotto - mwah! The portions are substantial, rightfully so for a $40 plate. Finished with a lemon sorbet with berries that were so fresh and ripe. It was a perfect meal.
