The North Shore Farms model is the same from market to market, therefore reviews will be the same from store to store. The only thing that changes is location, access and parking. This shop is located at the East end of Jericho Turnpike in Mineola in "The Crossings" shopping center. A reasonable size parking lot that tends to fill up quickly but I have never had an issue getting a spot close to the market. It's an easy in and out to Jericho Turnpike. North Shore Farms is an amazing supermarket. They are not the biggest but they certainly pack a big punch. I truly do not know where to start. They have so many food services available to the public. I want to start with their AMAZING bakery. The best bread in NYS! They make all kinds of "designer breads and rolls" including their bacon and egg baked into a flat bread. Pizzas, meat breads and any other items. If you can think about it, it's probably there. They have custom meat cutting as well as a very well stocked meat isle. Their seafood department is top notch. They have everything and you can always count on the fact that it's fresh. They also have a vast amount of prepared dishes that just need to be cooked or heated up. The deli area is also amazing.... They have their own NSF meats as well as Boar's Head and other specialty brands. The 'fresh soup' area sits right by the deli counter. Plenty of fresh vegetables and cheeses. The dairy selection is also quite extensive. They have a fantastic sushi section. It would not be fair to write about NSF and not mention their amazing team here. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. There are just not enough good things to say about NSF. All their stores follow the same model so you always know what to expect... EXCELLENCE! Worst chicken breast sandwich I have ever had. Thought I was going to choke it was so dry and overcooked

There are about 7 North Shore Farms in Long Island. I usually go to this one on E. Jericho Tpke since it's easy to get to and has a huge parking lot. Although North Shore Farms tends to be more on the pricey side, they do offer some gourmet grocery items; along with regular grocery items. They also have a great butcher dept. Definitely worth a trip to explore their offerings. The main reason I go to North Shore Farms is for their Bakery Dept...it's Excellent! Everything is baked fresh and reasonably priced. They have so many varieties of baked goods (especially bread), and they all looks (& smell) delicious! My absolute favorite item is their Cranberry Raisin Walnut Rolls @ 75¢ each. They're huge, minimally sweet, and sooooo satisfying! Extra delicious when toasted with butter! My 2nd fave item is their Challah Raisin Rolls @ 99¢ each. But you really can't go wrong with any of their fresh bakery items! Note: be prepared for long lines if you come for Bakery items during holidays. But it will be worth the wait. Fourth visit here. Each left me with negative opinion. Prices are higher than most markets, unless sale. Sale items are often misleading. There is no first class customer service in addressing requests. Polite but no further. Recently purchased wild cod for example. Our piece was not cut as asked. A great deli counter is a thing of beauty, and NSF has one of the best! A great selection of pre-cooked foods ranging from Italian to American standards. Salads are off the hook, my favorite Chicken Salad and Cole Slaw. They have their own brand of many cold cuts and cheeses plus name brands, as well as home cooked roast beef and turkey. A full bakery is in the basement (you wouldn't believe how many bakers they have) with retail upstairs, with outstanding baked good like meat stuffed breads. North Shores Farms has great fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked bread and a huge selections of different cheeses where you can spend quite a bit of time sampling. And of course everting else you would expect in a grocery store, deli, seafood and all the items. Prices are average to somewhat high but their sales are very reasonable for good quality. My wife sometimes just go for the fresh baked bread, it's that good. The store is somewhat small with a big selection of items which makes it a little cramped but with a small town feel to it. I really enjoy this supermarket. They have a wide selection of foods, unique breads, cheeses, prepackaged salads and other eats. Their soups are perfect during the winter months. I recently discovered their Portuguese Muffins which look nothing like the muffin shape I'm used to, but they taste so good plain or with your favorite jam/spread/veggies on it. The fruits/veggies I recommend you do not buy are the tomatoes and the strawberries. They're always ready to "go." If you don't eat them that night, forget about it. Everything else seems to remain fresher for longer. I wish they sold fresh juices like Trader Joe's has the Tangerine Fresh Squeezed and the Grapefruit Fresh Squeezed. Their prices are average and if you buy any of their foods in plastic boxes it costs a hefty penny. Overall the place is fairly clean. They did a great job with Covid-19 spacing but sometimes the aisles do get cluttered as the line backs up. When they have more people at the registers, though, it goes by smoothly and there's no issue of bumping into someone. I recommend this shop to be shopped at with a basket or your self carrying bags and not with the carriages/carts as there's not enough room for two in one aisle except for the very back of the space near the deli - but even there, they have too many sweets so they set up a table and now space is limited again. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have not had any issues there. I've never had to return an item, so I don't know how well the customer service is on that end. Happy shops! read more

Great variety of healthy foods. Loved the prepared foods, but perhaps we missed finding an area to sit and eat. If we had such an area, we would have stayed and had lunch. Prices were reasonable for the area. Fruits and vegetables were varied and fresh. Cheese and bakery sections were great as was the seafood area. There were loads of fish to choose from. As you walked in, you smelled the bakery. It made you want to go directly to that section! The store was played out nicely. There were food samples in many sections especially in the cheese section. That was nice. One more point. At this location there is a place with activities for moms and their children. I just ran out of North Shore Farms on Jericho Turnpike. While I was looking at the prepared food across from the bread, I heard a thump and looked. There I was shocked to see a large grey / black mouse that fell from somewhere onto the prepared food near the mini beef tacos. I told the cashier as I ran out of the store. I thought the produce was a bit mediocre - there were a lot of apples that looked a bit squishy and had some holes. I had to go to the organic section to find some better ones. I was however very pleased to find chocolate chip scones in the bakery section. This is one of my favorite baked goods and I never find chocolate chip scones in the Bay Area for some reason. I like NSF enough, when an item goes on sale, it's usually the best in town, but sometimes the quality isn't there with it. The layout of the store is also pretty labyrinthine and claustrophobic. They do tend to have a bunch of artisanal products, but in terms of variety, it's a little slim. I've neve rbeen here during busy hours but im assuming it's probably not fun with how small the space is and how short the conveyor belt/registers are. They have a big cheese selection so this is definitely a place to go if you like putting together charcuterie boards. read more

I love this store but it is rather pricey, though you get what you pay for. The store is very clean which is something I definitely look for. Their produce is the freshest, they have a great bakery, awesome deli counter with good precooked food, and a large selection of cheeses that are delicious. They have a ton of different fresh things pre-packaged in store like salsas, cheeses, pastas, salads of all sorts etc. I love shopping here and would do my weekly shopping here if it weren't for as I mentioned previously it's a little costly. My initial intention was to head over to Dominick's but my trusty co-pilot told me I was "krazy for driving to Dom's for a sandwich." Yep krazy with a K. Co-pilot being mom. Ok? So now what?! At this point I'm ready to bolt and get us back to Suffolk because I'm hangry... she's hangry and nothing is appealing to me. Finally she says "let's go to North Shore Farms..." as I'm about to just say "screw everyone and everything I'm getting onto the NSP." I was literally maybe 15 seconds away from the NSP on Glen Cove Road. Although parking and the lot is a bit of a nightmare turning in from Jericho Turnpike it wasn't that bad. It's a little hectic and small on the inside but wow. Everything you could want and MORE! The produce section is amazing... the bakery let's not go there shall we? Ok you want to... ok ok fine. Safe to say I'm obsessed!!! They have a super nice deli counter... fresh soups... tons of cheese and prepared dips and foods. A butcher and a fish market. Man this place is awesomesauce!!! Fresh fruits, freshly made bread, a sh*t ton of dips, homemade pasta, 5 soups, a cheese section that ends then picks up again then ends then picks up. Its like racks, on racks, on racks of awesome eats. Nice. Unfortunately, past that first section of goodies it turns into the tightest market I've ever been in on LI. It's more stacks on stacks on staaaacks.Two people can not fit down an aisle unless someone turns sideways. Two carts? Forgettaaaboutttit. You can't look for an item for more than 5 seconds without having to shift out of the way bc someone is coming through. So, if you love cheese, bread, fruits and dip. You're in luck! Market I have to say that I was really disappointed by this North Shore Farms location. I am a huge fan of their other stores in Glen Cove and Port Washington so when this came along in this area, I was happy due to the convenience on the way to and from work. Sadly, the location is the equivalent of trying to shove 10 pounds of potatoes into a 5 pound bag - the physical store is just too damn small. Because of this, the aisles are so close together that you get vertigo walking down them, the various departments are teeny when compared to the other two locations and this results in a meager selection of goods. She corrected the mistake without checking to see what the receipt said and she did not seem to be surprised she short changed us $30, which is at least 2 bills short ($10 & $20). Great market to come grab some products. There is many goodies and a wide variety of things that North Shore Farms makes fresh. But the best part about North Shore Farms is the Bakery. This is the original Cardinali and the bread is absolutely delicious! It is always fresh and baked right there. This store is cozy and has a community feel about it, a little on the smaller side. But, by far without question it's the bread that keeps me coming back weekly! Each bread is made to perfection by master bread maker Frank Cardinelli. The rolls,the breads; French, Italian, rye challah, wheat, meat and many many others are great. A special treat is when I bring home the cinnamon raisin, amazing!! I bring this bread to dinner parties and now my daughter is taking bread back to Phoenix with her for her and her friends:) Love this place!! read more

UPDATE: 8/7 Freshway was bought out by Northshore Farms recently and is now a far superior. Best of all, Frank is still baking his bread on premises and the quality of meat, dairy and produce has dramatically improved. Been shopping at Freshway for a long time now. One, becuase of the excellent Italian baker on premises who makes the best bread I've enjoyed since back in Brooklyn. Two, becuase of the great produce, however things have begun to change and I'm growing weary. Every time I stop by nowadays I see empty shelves, fewer staff and the prepared food quality is being allowed to stretch a little longer. I bought a salad the other day that was clearly not prepped within 24 hours and this is not a good sign. Cutting corners leads to bad product and lost customers, I'm on the edge at this point but I really hope they can pull through and remember that quality is what keeps people coming back. read more

North Shore Farms in Mineola is much bigger than the one in Great Neck. They have a friendly butcher and fish market. They also sell a large selection of coffee beans and prepared foods. Their price on fresh herbs is reasonable as is the fresh fruit. It shares a parking lot with a 99 cents paradise, although the name should really be "99 cents and up". read more

Everything improved when Northshore Farms took over. Yes, the baker is still there and he is a true artist. The best bread, really, I can't say enough about that bread. The bread is the only reason we kept going to Freshway. Now that it's NorthShore we have more reasons. The deli dept. has dramatically improved, especially the selection of cheeses of which they often have samples. Their ready to eat selections, including the soups are very nice. The fish department is excellent and the cute Italian guy working the fish counter is friendly and helpful and makes some very nice ready to eat items like the crab cakes which are excellent. The meat dept. also improved dramatically. I didn't used to buy meat there every because it just looked too tired but they have some very nice looking cuts now and I've gotten everything from steaks to ground beef to lamb chops and not been disappointed. They also are increasing their selection of "home made" ready to eat stuff like soups and pastas and I've enjoyed everything I've tried. My only complaint is that it's small, really small, and when it's busy it's hard to move around. The grocery dept. is small and doesn't have everything you might need. Really it's best to stick to the fresh stuff, bread, cheese, meat, fish, produce. That's what they're good at. And you gotta try the bread. read more
