We normally used DoorDash and had the food delivered from this location, happy with the food quality and choices. This time we decided to try the Ballston location and dine-in. We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was not busy. When they noticed us we were seated. We ordered the cheese dip for an appetizer. It was ok, they didn't give us any small plates so our table got a little messy. Instead of cleaning it up they just put our entrees on top of it. Our server wasn't very attentive so I had to take napkins off the other tables, plus ask for water refills consistently. Beef tacos- tasty and their tortillas seemed fresh Chicken/beef fajitas- meat was prepared well but the flour tortillas I was given were dry and chalky. Chocolate piñata for dessert was nice for my husbands birthday. That was the reason we came so I could surprise him with that. We liked the churros and the strawberries were sweet. So after this experience we will stick to DoorDash when it comes to Uncle Julio's. Our food quality and quantity was actually better, faster and reliable.

This is such a good place for Mexican food in the ballston area. They give free salsa and chips at the table that is constantly filled. I always love getting the classic taco salad and queso on the side. The service was great. There weren't a lot of servers but they did great as more people came to the restaurant. It is a big place. Because of that, I am going they stay open, but because of that, it is easy to find a spot!

I went to this location for the $12 Taco Tuesday Taco bar and it was amazing. They give you a choice between chicken or beef and you can do both and it comes with nine soft taco shells, and all of the fixings. The food was seasoned to perfection and it was so fresh and hot. I also had a watermelon margarita which was very delicious. We sat at the bar and the waitress was very accommodating and attentive. it was a great night and provided the right atmosphere for a taco Tuesday. This particular entrée does require a minimum of two people so it was $24 total, but it was more than enough food.

I came here a few months ago for lunch and was a little disappointed with the quality of the food and my margarita. However, I stopped by for a quick lunch over the weekend and my experience was great. Everyone was very friendly, my friends and I were sat and greeted immediately. I was not very hungry so I decided to get the steak nachos, and wow, they were a lot larger of a portion than I remember. I was able to share with my friends and still bring some home. My friends got entrees so I think they wanted to be nice and bring my out at the same time as theirs, which is very sweet, but I will say my nachos were a tiny bit cold but still very delicious. We also shared the ceviche, it was the perfect blend of lime and flavors. I liked that they added tomatoes to it. One of my friend's ended up getting the rice bowl that I was not very impressed with last time, and this time around it looked and tasted so much better. Overall, really great experience.

I've Been To This Location Specifically For Birthday Dinner Parties. They're Accommodating Of Larger Groups As Our Parties Are Quite High In Numbers. When It Comes To Food It Comes Out Pretty Quick Although Our Main Entrees Tend To Come Before Our Appetizers. Also They Arrive Warm Not Hot If Anything Other Then Fajitas Are Ordered Which Comes On A Steaming Hot Plate. As For The Drinks Were Okay IMO. As For The Birthday Piñatas Used To Be Much Less Like $20-$25 & Now It's $35 But Don't Feel It's Worth It As I've Noticed When Larger Group Same Price More Fruit & Churro Bites Then When We Were Less Like 12 It's Much Less Not Enough For Everyone To Have A Share Other Then A Piece On Each A Fruit & Churro. As For Splitting Checks Thankfully Thats Not An Issue As They Have A Handheld That Makes Splitting Checks Easier. I've Been To Other Local Locations Like Stonebridge That I've Experienced More Portions In Food & The Dessert Piñata For Same Prices!

    Three cheese enchiladas

The cheese enchiladas with the Tex-mex (beef) sauce are very good. They are simple but delicious. The charro beans were great today but they can be subpar, I look past this as they are not from a can. I always like their fire roasted salsa and very thin chips. They are a good delivery option with containers better than most.

    Trio fajitas

All tables are served with fresh homemade chips & 2 different kinds of salsa-one is spicy for sure, but both are flavorful! We had a table of 7 & the bill was $298 before tax & tip, so it's a little more expensive then most Mexican restaurants. Of course we all had 1 or 2 Margaritas with dinner! I ate the Trio fajitas. My favorite of the trio is their shrimp-good size & season well. The steak is cooked medium rare, which we like & the chicken is tender. No complaints here. I tried the Skinny Margarita that's good, but they raved about the Cadillac Margarita with Gran Marnier that was really tasty with a mini shot of tequila filled lime on top! Our server Abdes1am was great & he handled our table like a Pro!

What happened to this place! I remember it being so much better a couple years ago than what it is now. I decided to come here with my boyfriend since we were in the area and I had remembered the food was good. We ordered the spicy queso to go with our chips and it took forever to come. By the time it was served to us, it was room temp. The fajitas was just alright nothing special. The only thing that was still as good as I remember was the steak tacos that you build yourself. The steak was nice, tender, and seasoned. If I had to make one critique about that dish, it would be to add more shredded cheese! For 3 tacos, they give about only a spoonful of cheese. The service was okay as well. He wasn't very attentive, we had to try to catch his attention every once in a while but he was very nice. Overall, disappointed in this place because I remembered it being such a great experience!

Sadly, it was SO sunny that the booths by the window was too hot and bright, so we decided to sit away from it. If only we came for dinner when the sun wasn't so bright? So that was a bummer. I'll also mention that when we stopped in (early Saturday), the place was all but empty, but the host would not let us sit at these plushy booths (for 4 or more people), saying that there were reservations. However, these booths stayed empty the whole time we were there...and as we left! That sorta ticked us off. Another thing that ticked me off was that there was this item on the menu that wasn't available. As it was, their brunch menu was really small. BTW, we had the option to go with their AYCE Brunch or a la carte...we chose to do the latter. I resorted to ordering Shrimp Gobernador, and my husband got Huevo Ranchero. The Huevo Ranchero looked really good...and my husband seemed to really enjoy it. My Shrimp Gobernador was OK at best. It was a lot like Shrimp Tacos, but the ingredients inside was smothered and a bit greasy. Not my cup of tea. For the price point, I thought my shrimp dish was really underwhelming. Also, the service was SLOW. It took forever to get our drinks...and we were the only diners in there for awhile! Overall, I felt that the foods were overpriced for what they were. Ambiance was pretty, but we weren't able to even sit by the window because of the glaring sun...and the service was mediocre at best. I just thought it was an OK brunch...but am glad my husband enjoyed his favorite Mexican breakfast!

I liked their menu and wanted to give it a try. I got there shortly after they opened up and it was pretty empty. I got a seat right by the door, and had a view of the street and watched as the restaurant began to fill up. Lots of college kids came in as the evening went on and it seemed like a popular restaurant. I thought my server was very good. He checked in regularly and had a lot of tables he was responsible for. For my meal, I started with Queso Fundido and that was probably my favorite. The cheese was really hot and very delicious. It also came with three types of salsa on the side (a salsa verde, a chili salsa, and a third one I'm not sure what it was). I did like the chili one. The flour tortillas were very hot and fresh. I enjoyed it. For my entree, I had the Achiote Hanger Steak Fajitas. This was my least favorite part of the meal. I had asked the waiter if they were good and he told me he always recommends it. I didn't mind the sides that came with it. The rice and beans were pretty good and I liked the guacamole. What I didn't like was the actual steak. It was very tough and hard to bite into. What was weird is it was completely red in the middle so I believe it was medium to medium rare, but the steak wasn't tender at all. It also wasn't very seasoned and the peppers and onions under it just seemed to be sitting in oil. I did ask for salt and pepper, but even with it, I didn't like it. I ended up not finishing the meal. Finally, I had ordered the corn cheesecake as a dessert. I now realize they sent out churros instead, but I guess I wasn't paying attention until after the fact. The churros were OK. I would have preferred more chocolate sauce on mine. I wish I would have spoken up because I was actually looking forward to trying the cheesecake. For me the food was ok, and not spectacular. One such place was a Mexican place as my old fav Mexican place on Kent Island (Señors Chile) had great but extremely greasy birria tacos. So you can imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this food truck that read "Tacos Los Primos". The spot made me curious. So I went to visit a friend who lives in walking distance from the spot for lunch recently. She ordered the veggie burrito and I ordered (pic below) Quesabirria tacos (no onion). When we got back I was WOW'd by not only how yummy my food was but how it wasn't oozing with grease! The consume that comes with for dipping is just enough for me personally and bursting with flavor. As you'd expect from most food trucks the service is made to order. When you go up to the counter and tell them what you want they make it fresh! The truck is parked on Rhoside Green Park (sandwiched between Courthouse and Rosslyn) so if you live in either neighborhood it's easy to access from walking distance. And since it's near an Arlington green space there's usually some seating nearby you can pop a squat and eat lunch. Given spring time is approaching this seems more doable. Just yesterday I was driving by to visit the same friend and saw a long line for this place! Most people in Arlington know how great this spot is, it is a terribly kept secret! Can't comment much on how long the line was busted as I went during a time when it was windy (but warm) and it was mid day. When I drove by it was pushing dinner time past 7pm. I love the food here! But since I live closer to the storefront location in Lyon Park I usually end up ordering food from there (review on that location is coming soon)! If you like authentic Mexican food that's fresh and delicious, you'll enjoy this spot!
