Food was fair on this trip but didn't wholly impress. Parking is street parking so you may have to work around that. The service is good, and the setting is nice. Casual, comfortable, and nice. This time I tried the pollo saltado (the server recommended it) but found it to be average at best.

I loved Dos Hermanos! First, the salsa is absolutely to die for. It's a mixture of salsa, and what seems like pureed pico de gallo. Either way, it's amazing. The case was also good, it's made with yellow cheese, so it's not quite my favorite because I prefer the white cheese, but it was pretty good. A little thick. We dined on a Wednesday evening, very few people there but everyone was very nice, it's a nice place, and the food was very good. Dieting (alas) I had the Dos Hermanos salad with grilled chicken. Impressive. Plenty of chicken. My date had the Lechoncito Al Horno. Good but lots of onions, so it's a little on the acidic and .. onion side. Lord hath no fury as acid reflux, but neither of us had any problem. Just really good food. Standard Mexican fare but A+ quality.

Honestly I've been in this neighborhood for 2 years, driven past this place an unquantifiable number of times, and I've never done more than glance at this place. Clearly we've been sleeping on this place! A restaurant and bar open til 10 on a weeknight in this neighborhood?? Yes! Sorely needed! I played it safe with the chicken avocado sandwich, which came with amazing french fries, and both surprised me with the quality. I also got sweet tea, which tasted closer to a mix but the good kind. The service was swift and kind, and we never had to wait too long. Totally adding this into the rotation for lazy dinner days!

Flawless first experience at Dos Hermanos in Alexandria, nestled in a cozy neighborhood with street parking. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Menu stacked with authentic Mexican and classic Tex-Mex. Carne Asada tacos were unforgettable. Margaritas were concocted perfectly. Salsa was fresh and flavorful. Can't wait for my next visit!

Definitely chicken fajitas for the win!

Came in Friday night, and got immediate seating for dinner for 3. Ordered 2 Margarita on the rocks, and a virgin frozen mango margarita, with immediate chips & salsa delivered to the table. The service was great, and the drinks were good & promptly served. Ordered 2 birria (shredded) beef & one chicken enchilada with black beans & a side of guacamole. Family had similar orders. All correct & good tasting. Personally, I was a bit disappointed in the birria beef, as I was expecting more flavor. Still very good, but wish I had gone for two ground beef instead. Chicken enchilada was also very good, but not as flavorful as I had hoped. In future, might go back to the Shrimp Fajitas. The restaurant was definitely busy, and somewhat loud, but not too bad. We had other local neighbors drop by, and we exchanged hellos over our food. The local vibe & support for Dos Hermanos is very strong. I will still give a strong recommendation here as a local eatery, with great service & bar selection. Price for 3 was at $100 before tip, including drinks, which I'll call average for a sit down meal in January of 2025.

Stopped in for a quick bite, first time here. The ambiance is fun and it feels lively while not being crowded. Skinny margarita - actually pretty tasty! I'd try this again. Now, on to the reason for the massive deduction in stars... Shrimp quesadilla - I'm pretty sure this fulfilled my sodium intake for the week. INSANELY SALTY. Practically inedible. I relayed this to my very friendly waitress and I truly hope the sentiment got back to the cook. I don't know if I'll ever be returning to try another type of quesadilla, but most likely not - now I don't trust the cook.

yeah, it's me again. After getting some barbecue, we want Mexican food too. This place has very good reviews and was right around the corner from Port barrel barbecue. So we got chicken fajitas, chicken burrito and something else lol. I will let you guys know how it is here for now. I just am enjoying a cold Stella draft. very good customer service at the bar..

The happy hour menu was just ok . I would have liked to pair the margarita with some happy hour tacos. I had the queso it was ok. The steak was flavorful the chicken was just ok. However the fried ice cream my favorite dessert did not disappoint. The servers moved around the floor with urgency to continue to take care of their customers and food came fast all points I can appreciate. Appears to be the spot for family dinner on Tuesdays as most tables were filled with families and kids I attributed this to being nestled in a walkable neighborhood. Why the three review? The margarita which I was most looking forward to was not good. I was definitely premixed !

The protein in the taco is well made and tender and comes on a single flour tortilla and a sauce and some veggies. It is missing the double corn tortilla, Cilantro and and sautéed onions I associate with a authentic Mexican street taco but still is very tasty just the same and definately not one of the Americanized abominations you see at so many restaurants (: . Chips and Salsa were quite good as well and they make a nice house Margarita that was reasonably priced (Thank you Happy Hour!) that is well made with a good 100% Blue Agave tequila. To be honest with you the Margarita's and Happy hour pricing is what brought us to this restaurant and we were definately not disappointed. the restaurant itself has a nice industrial vibe to it and does not have the colorful Mexican decor many of the restaurants do that I am used to in Michigan. Having said that it is still a very casual and comfortable environment that definately adds to the overall dining experience. Staff was quite friendly with good follow up and definately a strength of the business. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience with their own unique spin on what they call a street taco. Good food, Reasonable prices and good margaritas are hard to beat making this an excellent dining spot if Mexican food is your thing.

Our server was quick, friendly, and kept things moving without making us feel rushed. They actually have a true happy hour menu. Not one of those "$1 off" situations, but legit deals across both food and drinks. Everything we ordered hit. The margaritas were refreshing, well-balanced (not overly sweet), and definitely did the job. For food, we kept it classic. The tacos were simple but flavorful, with tender, well-seasoned meat and fresh toppings that didn't overpower anything. The nachos were good but in my opinion, the portion size wasn't worth $11. Everything tasted fresh and came out hot, which I always appreciate, especially during a busy service. The vibe outside really pulled it all together. It's one of those spots that feels lively without being chaotic...perfect for catching up, people-watching, or just unwinding after a long day. You can tell it's a go-to neighborhood spot for a reason. I'd definitely come back--especially for another round of margaritas and to try more of the menu.

Meanwhile the couple next to us had received their food. I finally flagged someone down and asked for a beer, queso and 4 tacos. My bf who did not have a drink never got water. They brought us 3 tacos instead of 4 and then ignored us again. Are you noticing a theme? The tacos honestly were not even good. Oh, and because of the "holiday" they automatically added an 18% tip. Probably because with this service and food they would receive less than that. Not a great experience.

We were greeted and seated immediately when we arrived. There were maybe 3 or 4 tables total occupied during our visit so not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There is outdoor seating as well. Our server, who was very friendly, hyped the premium margarita so we gave in and said yes. We also tried the passionfruit margarita. The premium was strong but that's probably what you're going for anyway The passionfruit margarita was delicious but not strong at all. We tried the chips and dip and the Platanos Fritos (plantains with sour cream) to start. Chips were fresh and hot. Salsa was a bit creamy. Never had it like this before but the taste was pretty good. Plantains were perfect! While we didn't order the Guac ( Guacamole Molcajete) , it was brought to our table. We found it to be on the bland side with no hints of cilantro, onion, lime or salt. We saw a few bits of tomato but it tasted just like a plain smashed avocado. Not something we would order again. We decided to try all the street tacos except the vegetarian so we could taste everything. Steak, chicken, fish, shrimp, ground beef, pork (al pastor), carnitas. We also got the 3 street taco platter that came with the Mexican rice and beans. We found the shrimp and fish tacos to be lacking in the quantity of meat. But they were flavorful. The chicken, while plentiful, was dry even with the sauce. The steak, al pastor and carnitas were all packed with meat and delicious but both our Al Pastor tacos were missing the pineapple. The ground beef was my personal favorite but was very greasy. The Mexican rice and pinto beans....Both were just ok. Overall, food was ok we were expecting a bit more flavor. Service was great. Pricing was a bit higher than what we usually pay for a similar order.
