We have been to Uncle Primo's twice. Both times we had a positive experience. The front of the house was very efficient. Both times the restaurant was quite busy but we were promptly seated on time for our reservation. At one visit, it was homecoming for the local high school but our table was ready at the appointed 7:00 time. No small feat. The service was prompt and friendly. The salad, which was included in the meal, was abundant, tasty and well appointed. We were offered refill of the large family style bowl. I had veal parm on one visit. Although tasty, it was a ground patty priced at $27 which seemed a little high for a ground patty of veal rather than a chop. The next visit I had the lasagna trio which had lasagna, linguine and ravioli. Lots of food. Best part was the lasagna. My wife had eggplant parm that she enjoyed. Our dining companion had spaghetti with meatballs and was pleased. At one visit we had ordered the garlic bread sticks. That was unnecessary since a lot of bread was provided. On vacation in Ohio with the family we all had a craving for Italian and this was the first place to pop up when we google Italian food near me. I must say this is by far the best Italian food I ever had in a long time and the staff is super friendly and accomdating. I had the pleasure to try something unique and different for me, I tried the, spicy Hungarian peppers with sausage and side of fettuccine and it was beyond amazing and my mom ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and she said the meatballs are excellent and great tasting, we also found out their orginal sauce isn't as sweet but they do have option to get a sweeter sauce if you so choose too which isn't seen at much resturants, and for dessert I didn't get a picture but we had the keylime pie, with a fresh lime on top, absolutely delicious! read more

Where do I begin. From back of residential properties in new philadelphia, you could tell this is going to be a local favorite from crowded parking lot. The complimenty bread and salad is great. One of best salads there was with a homemade Italian dressing with meat, pepporoconis, olives, and crisp veggies. Main entree was devine. Perfect portion of chicken Alfredo with shrimp. The creaminess of sauce is perfect consistent for both grilled shrimp and chicken that is great with fettuccine. And to end off with the well known key lime pie, left me speechless. As a key lime pie afficenado, this made number one. The tartness of key lime was marvelous with sweet whip cream and graham cracker crust. For a nice garnish, a lime is placed on top. My favorite restaurant in town!! Especially love their crab cakes and the sauce that comes with. And the service and environment is always stellar. I know they switched owners and I haven't been back too often since, but I'm confident all was handed over as well as they could. We walked in with a party of 11 on a Friday night after 7pm and were shocked to find a packed house! But it didn't take long to understand why. Despite our oversized group, we waited maybe 15 mins to be seated, and were served kindly and efficiently. Every single dish was both traditional and unique, yet prepared to perfection. Yup, the 5 out of 5 reviews are correct. This place is great! It's an old established restaurant that makes good things happen. I had the Primo burger with sharp cheddar cheese. It was cooked as I asked at medium and the cheese was great. It came on an upscale bun that just made it better. It also came with a nice size salad (maybe a bit much dressing) and I asked for a side of broccoli. Broccoli was perfect and had shavings of Romano cheese (I think) My co-worker had chicken salad with a side of French fries. Fries were great, fresh cut and fried crispy. Chicken salad was great! Everything has great flavor and is perfectly cooked. The chicken parmesan was still crisp when arriving to the table and the fettuccine alfredo was super creamy and did not dry out while eating. My daughter and her family enjoy this restaurant, so we decided to eat here before I leave town. We didn't make reservations because it's a Wednesday night, we figured we wouldn't need to. Parking lot was very full when we pulled in and it was very busy inside. They were accommodating even though we didn't call ahead. I think we only waited 20 minutes for our table. The special today was manicotti, I tried to order it with white sauce but it is already cooked in red. She said they can take some of the sauce off and add the Alfredo to it. I wasn't very hungry so I just ate a few bites of my daughters. It was good and she enjoyed it. My son in law said the pork chops he ordered were tasty. Everyone seemed happy. We brought home a custard dessert thats homemade, it looks sinful. Can't wait to try it. I would definitely frequent this restaurant if I lived here. read more

I grew up in New Philadelphia and a few blocks away from this restaurant. I remember when it opened and how often my family would go enjoy a great meal. It's been nearly 30 years and I went this past weekend with my husband (not from the area) and felt extremely nostalgic to the place and the wonderful food and service. I live in Columbus, OH and we are surrounded by a plethora of dining options. You don't expect such fine food in a small town in the middle of the rolling hills of Tuscarawas County. I am glad we did. There was a line waiting but our table was ready and waiting for us. I loved the house salad that came with our entrees. All 7 of us LOVED, LOVED, LOVED our food. We loved the tomato sauce. Good size portions. At the end of dinner, I left the table for just a couple of minutes. I returned and saw that everyone had ordered dessert. The pieces of pie were huge. We all sampled each other's pie so we tasted key lime, dark chocolate, and the cream puff. Perfect ending to a perfect dinner. The prices are very, very reasonable. When we pulled up the parking lot was full -- it's a Wednesday night! Thankfully we had reservations. The food is amazing. I had the pan seared Mahi Mahi -- juicy, flakey, amazing and if you enjoy garlic bread their version knocked socks off!! Highly recommend to make reservations and bring your appetite.
