Really affordable and great services, just walking into the place you feel how great it is, highly recommend it to anyone that's in my situation or just wants to eat better and be in better health. I'm perturbed for several reasons: 1) they rang up a bag of apples to be $4.79 when it was supposed to be $1.99. After quite a wait, that was price checked and changed for me. Cool. 2) got home & noticed the cilantro & the 3 limes ($1) I bought & paid for didn't make it into our bags. I need it for dinner tonight. The staff bagged our groceries for us. So frustrating because it was $1.99 for a relatively small bundle, but I wanted to support La Tienda. 3) flies everywhere! 4) dusty goods! The can of beans I bought was covered in dust as was the others. Could these last two reasons be because the two front doors were propped open? Will be a while before I come back even though I'm in this vicinity at least once per week. My 11-year-old daughter loved this store and how organized it was. She ain't paying the bills, though. The clerk was friendly & funny. Service was a bit slow due to their card machine acting funky - or as the clerk joked - special. I came for fuel. Prices per gallon as of 3.20.2025: Diesel = $3.35 Regular unleaded = $2.90 Plus = $3.30 Premium = $3.70 Big rigs are welcome. Pumps are to the side and around back. And because I was super curious about the shop side, I walked out with Brownsboro blueberry green tea by Texas Tea ($2.69) and a small pack of Sahale's pomegranate vanilla flavored cashews ($2.59). This location is highly popular because of its vicinity to a few major places in Hobbs, NM: Covenant Hospital, the CORE (an indoor recreational center), Lea County Event Center, and New Mexico Junior College. I stopped here to fill up my brother's diesel truck on 8/25/2023. I am knocking off a star because one of the pumps was not taking my credit card - or other motorists after me as I later noticed while the truck guzzled so. Much. Diesel. Oi! Phillips 66 diesel was $4.19 per gallon like all the other stations in town. Dang it. It's a mostly clean, well-lit station at nighttime. I drive by a lot. Happy safe travels, Yelpers!

They actually help you when you can't find something. The prices. They're reasonable and you don't need a rewards card to save here. The meat and produce selections. They're fresh and of quality. The store itself. It's clean, well-organized, and has good signage inside. The only thing I ever disliked about Thriftway is the location--not necessarily within the city, but the way it is tucked off in a corner behind Bealls and Walgreens. Each December, an annual canned food drive (Stuff-a-Truck) happens in front of this store. So they definitely support their community and less fortunate citizens. I may be the only one who remembers this, but Thriftway used to be on Dal Paso St. That Thriftway burned to the ground back in '07. I never learned what the cause was or how it happened, but... The employees are nice, understanding and do take accountability if they make any errors and are quick to fix them. I love the diversity of this place, if English is not your first language, they have employees that are bilingual and can help you. It's safe to say that you will be heard in this store. I've only been in here a couple times while traveling with my husband but within those times the place just continues to grow on me. Yesterday was adorable to say the least as I saw one of the employees get so excited when a customer asked her about the rewards program, her enthusiasm made me want to sign up. This Stripes has okay prices on their fuel compared to other slightly cheaper places…read more Sometimes they're a bit higher. Many years ago, my mom came home after stopping for gas here. This was the mid 1990s. She was distraught. In tears. I'll never forget it. My dad was calm & reassuring her everything would be okay. Her purse was stolen out of the car with my grade school brothers sitting in the back seat while she was inside paying. My mom never saw the guy. My brothers said they didn't know what to do. The guy smiled at them & just grabbed her purse then was gone. They remembered her had really bad teeth. He took all kinds of stuff that day. Not just credit cards, check book & cash. Address book. Photos. Other items. It was the Mary Poppins bag of purses, of course. So this place still gives me the creeps. Weirdos still hang out here - just like every where else. But the worst thing is this parking lot. It's a tight fit. Many jay walkers in this area too. Another reason I dislike this station even as it is convenient for my daily errands.
