We wanted to get her acclimated to being away from us, spending time outside of the home, and socializing with other children. What Lucy has created at her beautifully landscaped space is a rare gem in Los Angeles. Given that our first daughter was so well taken care of, and really grew into her own amazing person during her time at Century City Kids Club, there was never any thought of not sending our second daughter to Lucy before she started formal school. Our younger daughter had the same incredible experience, displayed the same type of growth in ability to socialize, and came away with an increased confidence after her time with Lucy, Karina, and Alicia. We have seen Century City Kids Club nurture a lifetime-type-confidence for both children and their parents. The children play so freely and safely. Lucy is definitely one of those people! My son started at Century City Kids Club when he was around 12 months old and we kept him there all the way through the start of Kindergarten. As other parents decided to go to Pre-K, we kept him with Lucy. The outdoor/indoor setting is amazing; lots of games, crafts, and activities; the food is wonderful. But most importantly Lucy and her team provide such a nurturing and educational environment that once we found her we never considered anywhere else (and we had tried two other daycares before Lucy). My son is an only child and being with other children all day that were both younger and older than he was provided a great social setting for him and taught him many skills that he has carried through his life. Lucy is an amazing person and cares deeply for her work, her staff, and the kids under her care. She is extremely professional and has high expectations and standards for the kids and also for the parents which I really appreciated. She provided me with excellent advice whenever I asked. They're super friendly to parents and very instructive to children, especially when your child is 2 or under. Both my son and daughter went here and they learned a lot and made quite the progress when it comes to social development. They learned some bilingual skills in the process while also understanding how to communicate with adults and their peers. Little Sprouts is very clean too, and despite it being a smaller sized daycare that didn't matter. The kids got to release some energy while also engaging in a regimented schedule that included healthy and nutritious food and arts-n-crafts to bring home. To top it off, they even have a parents date night the first Saturday of the month; where for an extra fee they'll watch your child from 4-8pm. I don't know any daycare centers that offer this perk. I highly recommend Little Sprouts.

Dropoffs were tough, but only for about a week as she quickly discovered this was a safe & happy place for her. Needless to say, Eleanor had a great time, and was actually sad to leave for her pre-K transition. Two years later, her twin brothers started full-time, and only one of them had a tough transition--his brother was too busy scarfing all the delicious (and organic) food that Espe provides! Espe's staff is so caring and sweet with all their kids and the children truly love playing with them. During pickups, Eleanor comes in to say 'hi' to Espe and Tami, and then sometimes the boys want to stay and play longer. Best of all, the staff doesn't just stand around looking at their phones (I've seen this elsewhere), but instead they are typically down on the floor engaging the kids in games or reading to them. The twins also love all the music they get to hear/play, and have become quite the stylish dancers since attending Espe's! The enrollment waitlist can be sort of long, but in my opinion, it's well worth it--both in terms of experience and overall value compared to other daycares!

Her home is a safe, clean, and fun place for the children. She works very hard to not only keep them happy but also teach them good habits. She rarely, if ever, turns on the TV, but often has music playing. She dances with the kids and makes the babies smile. Our son, who is 6 months old, took to her very soon after meeting her (which is rare for him). We feel very comfortable leaving him there all day. Espe is currently taking early childhood education classes at UCLA. This clearly shows in her philosophy of child care. My wife and I are both grad students, so we really like this. Espe also has many years of experience nannying for a family. Compared to large daycare facilities, her prices are very good. She is licensed for up to 8 children (I think) and she recently hired someone to help her when there are more than 3 children. The helper is also a UCLA extension student.
