AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Set up a job with Brandon the owner to bring in my 1970 Dodge Charger for a disc brake conversion was told the job would take 2 to 3 days it is now over two months later and I am still waiting and getting nothing but excuses and delays from Brandon. Every time I call for updates there is one excuse after the next. I highly recommend NOT using this shop unless you enjoy excuses and have no interest in driving your car. read more

I don't usually review places but these guys earned it. Even though I came in only to dyno test my Sonata they were professional, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about every aspect of that test. I'm not sure what type of dyno testing they perform but it seemed like a 4th gear pull. I'll definitely come back to do a custom intercooler. Highly recommended shop! read more

I brought my 2019 Mustang for a supercharger installation. First thing they did was take a good look at the engine and take the car for a test drive. One thing led to another and they found metal shavings in the oil. They recommended that I immediately take the car to a Ford dealer to see if repairs (or total engine replacement) would be covered under warranty. I don't know the final outcome because the car is still at the Ford dealer but I do know that the warranty is going to expire in about one month. Good thing they found the issues before they installed the supercharger and before the warranty expired. I appreciate their diligence. It may save me many thousands of dollars if Ford decides to replace the engine under warranty. read more

I'd like to start off by saying if you would like your car properly stored, made track ready, or would like any imaginable automobile modification, Underground Autosports is the only place you need go! Matt, Perry and Brandon were wonderful to work with. I really felt they showed a high level of customer service. I was able to track the progress of my car almost in real time, receiving updates from Matt periodically. Though customer service is important, you definitely want the job done right! These guys are very skilled at what they do. They even fixed problems I had from other (and as far as I know, reputable) shops. I always received my car back at 100%. Finally, you can't beat the modest prices these guys offer. All in all, it's nice to see that there are other fellow car enthusiasts out there that just want to do the job right. Great place to store your car and Brandon is great to work with. Definitely recommend for your luxury or sports car storage. Very clean facility and the showroom/waiting room is always very clean. They work on modern sports cars, old classics, trucks, and off-road vehicles! A gem in the NW burbs!!! What I really liked about them is that I do a lot of my own work and take to them for more advanced and they just pickup and do whatever is needed. Had my project car sitting in the driveway for 4 years with wiring issues. Brought it to several shops over the years, some wouldn't even touch it, and others (VS Motorsports) gave bad diagnostics, which I paid for, then paid for parts based on their results, which basically led me to waste tons of money, both on their diagnostics, and making repairs based on those diagnostics. Eventually stumbled on Underground, and gave them a try. Cost a bunch of money, but they fixed the problem that others failed to fix, or wouldn't even try to fix. Pretty expensive shop, but you get what you pay for. Which is great, considering how much money I spent at other shops that just got me to spend more money for no reason to make repairs that weren't needed, and didn't solve my problems. At Underground, I got what I paid for. At VS Motorsports, I paid money, and then got less money money in return. read more

Took my car here on 10/24/14 to have a baseline dyno run. Owners were nice and friendly. My car was on the dyno, strapped up, and the first run within 10 minutes. Had some minor issues during the dyno runs but was told they were corrected. Once the car was done with the dyno runs, I waited for my results sheet. I was told there was an issue with the computer and it needed to be rebooted. I was told that I would have the results emailed me to later that day but was verbally told my HP/TQ numbers. I was a little skeptical based on the numbers that were told to me but every dyno is different. I waited until the end of the day for the results and received nothing. Figured I would give them until the next day. 10/25 rolls around and I still have no email with results. I emailed them and got no response. I figured I would call about the results since I paid $75 specifically for these numbers. Not sure which owner picked up but they stated they received my email (didn't acknowledge that they didn't respond) and had to have their software updated and I should hear back on Monday, 10.27. Waited all day Monday and still received no email. Figured I would give them a week to get me the results or at least give me an update. Heard absolutely nothing. Finally I reached back out to them on 11/5/2014 via phone and was told they would get the results out to me and were still having issues with the software. The next day (11/6) I receive an email with my dyno results. The person that sent the results stated he was not sure that the owner sent over the results. I looked at the results and there were immediately a couple of red flags: 1. The numbers did not match the numbers I saw on the screen or the numbers that were verbally told to me. 2. There were only 2 dyno runs on the sheet and my car had 6 runs. I inquired about the numbers and the number of runs. Received some lame excuse and I was just over it. Customer service and communication are terrible. If you take someones money for a service, please make sure to provide them with that service. If you cannot at least communicate. Doesn't make sense that I had to continuously reach out for answers and it took 2 weeks to get suspect results. read more

Had underground autosports install a turbocharger in my car, it was a premade kit that was supposed to bolt right up to the car. Was estimated to cost around $1100 (12 hours) not including the tuning, which I wasn't planning on having them do. As expected, some things needed adjusting; however, I got charged nearly four times the original estimate! On the night I received my car, they told me it was safe enough to drive.. meanwhile, about 2 hours later my car refused to start and transmission fluid was leaking all over the ground- one of the sensors was loose, and the transmission dipstick was installed incorrectly. I have asked them to fix the dipstick, but they refuse to do so without asking me for more money. For 4,000 dollars, I would have expected a flawless installation, especially since there was hardly any fabrication needed aside from the downpipe. I feel like I should have listened to what other people told me about this shop. I will not be returning and I definitely wouldn't recommend this shop. read more
