The tree covered paths are perfect for all weather and the cliff and water view is quite lovely especially in the fall. There is a newer pavilion with a seating area, a bathroom for when nature calls while you're out in nature and a couple of art pieces to admire during your stroll. During our most recent visit a week or two ago, the bathrooms were closed for the season. There is also plenty of parking available. We take our dog here for walks. They have free bags if you've forgotten to bring any. It's a great park neighborhood park!

The trails are 1/5 in difficulty and generally takes about an hour and a half if you walk through all 3 trails, so if you're a hiking enthusiast and looking for a more intermediate/advanced trail you won't find it here. But the trail does offer nice scenery and it's beautiful to walk through during the Fall to see the changing of the leaves.

The tennis and basketball courts look fresh and a new bed of wood chips were added to the children's playground. On the playground littles as young as 1 year old can enjoy a number of different kinds of equipment. They do have a baby and disability friendly swing available. However the entrance into the playground is NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY. There is a short walking trail but beware of geese and their poo. I saw folks doing some leisurely fishing but not sure on those guidelines. The restrooms were interesting but I was surprised they were less maintained compared to the rest of the park. Dogs are welcome while on leash or on duty as service dogs.

They have a little pond that people can fish in, and there are lots of ducks swimming and walking around. They have a playground and a basketball court, which both seem well-kept. There's also a pavilion but I haven't used it so I'm not sure what amenities it has. There's a path around the pond, and while it's a very short loop, it's good for a slow, peaceful wander. There are benches around the path and next to the park under some trees. I'd recommend checking it out if you're looking for a small, chill, clean, quiet park.

Simpson Park Lake is my favorite local spot to kayak…read more Unloading: There is a circular dirt drive off of the parking lot where you can load and unload kayaks/paddleboards/canoes right at the boat launch area. The Lake: This is one of the best spots to kayak on the West side of St Louis. You can get about 3,000 meters from one loop around the lake, and there are usually very few people on the water. It is much quieter than Creve Coeur Lake. The water is calm and without motorized boats, other than trolling motors. There are often great blue heron and egrets in the water.

The lake has plenty of benches around the perimeter for viewing the scenery or taking a break. There is even a path to the river which makes for good photos. It has a playground, a large pond with fish, pavilion, BBQ pits, many sitting areas, restrooms, and several paved walking trails that go through the wooded area. I'm a pretty good fisherman, but not that good. This park has an online website. Someone should and could have taken the time to post that info so that myself and others would know not to go there for fishing. Also, does the park open at 7:00 A.M., 8:00 A.M., or 4:00 A.M.? I have seen each of those times listed and do not know why the confusion. A disappointing waste of my time.

Lots of flat-ish paved roadways to bicycle. Some of the campsites have decks for pitching a tent! All sites are shaded and situated in the woods. River access is only for powered john boats and the like. I wish there was a dedicated trail or roadway to the creek, which is a nice place to swim and relax when it is hot.

Came to traditional camp for 14 days. I reserved my two weeks online and paid for them. I stayed…read morethe first week alone and the second week with my young son. Never once did a camp host come by in the first 7 days. Never once did they change the numbers on my pole. It still had dates from months ago. On day 7 while I was putting up second tent for my son a very angry man stopped by in a golf cart. He was yelling about us leaving in a day. I explained to him we had the lot for two weeks and offered proof by receipt in my email. He got even angrier and threatened me with some man name Mike paying me a visit!?!? After he realized he was wrong he tried to tell us we could not have two tents. Not true. I had to show him proof on my phone. Then he tried to tell us our tent we just put up was in the wrong place. It was not. I showed him the lot map. The man seemed intoxicated but I'm not sure. After he left he went to the next lot and yelled at that man . I personally have never been treated so rude. This place has no real camp host. This place has no hospitality. The camp host from lot #20 is a real creep. There is something not right with him mentally and I suggest others do not camp near lot #20 camp host. The camp host at lot #20 needs to be fired. He should not be around families or children. Beware of this park for many reasons. 1) camp host lot #20 2) homeless 3) dirty , trash everywhere. 4) no good trails 5) no water access 6) pot smoke and meth smoke in the air at night 7) camp host #20 8) camp sites are uneven mud pits Untill this park puts real camp host in place it will remain a dump. Beware. Stay away
