Ungers changed, I have to get some shoes, to " I just had my life changed". I'm 75 years old and have a fractured pelvis and a heap of metal in my neck and spine and truly walk like I'm drunk due to the waddle I developed trying to minimize the pain when I walk. If you have never been here you need to call and schedule an appointment with Joe. He stays very busy and you can no longer just walk in and get to see him, but when I first started going there I have the privilege of getting Joe to listen to my foot problems and fit me with the perfect shoe for my problems. For the first time in years I was able to wear a pair of shoes that didnt hurt my feet and provided good support. He recommended Finn Comfort for my problems and they were the most expensive shoes I had ever bought, but he said they would last me ten years and when you considered that it was a great price. Well, my last visit I asked them when I bought my Finn shoes, I knew it had to be over ten years, and when the girl looked it up she said it was 16 years ago! My podiatrist told me they look better than brand new ones. They have recently fitted me with a comfortable pair of tennis shoes and they fitted my husband with the best shoes he has ever worn also. This is the best shoe store I have EVER visited! They make sure that you get exactly the right shoe every time and even send reminders for when to come in and get my daughter refitted for shoes! It's always hand written, personalized, and makes me smile because the people who work there are just so warm. They are amazing with children, my daughter has loved the experience since she was just turned three and it would have been sooner had I thought of it! My Nana also requires special lifts in her shoes and must come in regularly for measuring and adjusting and they treat her like she were their own. I've never walked away dissatisfied or without a perfectly fitting shoe! I even bring my sister who lives in Wisconsin in to their shop.
