Obviously that did not happen. $228!!!Extra labor and special equipment? Plus an additional processing fee and mileage? What a joke. This vehicle was towed to/from the same places less than a week earlier for $120. It was a basic tow then so I'm not sure what was not basic about it with this particular company. Charges were: $89 - service call (which gets you nada) $45 - mileage (cause just cause they put your car on the truck doesn't mean you want to take it anywhere) $120 - tow charge $29 - special equipment (which was (2) 2x4 pieces of re-used wood, to keep the car from scraping when they drive it on the flatbed) $39 - drop off fee (cause you might want to just leave it on their truck forever??) I called multiple other companies and no one else was available quickly or at all (this was a Sunday night). I called his service - City Wide Towing - and immediately got ahold of Rick. Rick was polite, professional, and got to me in ten minutes. His tow rate the lowest of the couple options I had (and between the two, he was the only one free to meet me ASAP). I thought my car was needing to be towed (it had failed during the multiple attempts to jump it with jumper cables), so the only conclusion I could think of was a dead battery. When Rick arrived, I was in an upset and nervous state after being by myself on the side of the road, with night time approaching, and after having fumbled through other failed options. Rick was extremely reassuring and helpful - he was patient with me as I explained my situation, and he asked if he could attempt to jumpstart it himself. Voila! (My car battery is in a really weird place and very difficult to attach cables to). Even if my situation would have necessitated a tow, I still would have felt very comfortable working with Rick. I'm so, so grateful to Rick and his business.
