My husband and I recently bought our first home, and while trying to complete some minor upgrades, we discovered mold. We immediately panicked, assuming the absolute worst. After reading their excellent reviews, I decided to give them a call--and I am so glad I did. Everyone who came out to our house was incredible, friendly, and deeply professional. They made an incredibly stressful situation completely painless, and they treated our home as if it were their own. One important tip for future customers: This company focuses strictly on remediation, meaning they do not handle the reconstruction or repairs (like replacing drywall) once the mold is gone. This wasn't an issue for me--I simply called around and found a local contractor to patch things up afterward--but it's important to go in with the right expectations and always ask questions! The team members we worked with deserve individual recognition: Brandan came out first to rule out any active plumbing leaks. Once he confirmed the mold wasn't plumbing-related, he kindly offered to inspect the rest of our new home's plumbing. He caught a few minor issues, explained his recommendations clearly, and provided no-pressure quotes. We are so relieved to finally have a trustworthy plumber on speed dial! He then immediately looped in their mold specialist, Ruben. Ruben arrived the very same day to assess the mold and provide a fair quote. He was incredibly sympathetic to our situation and reassured us that he would remove as little material as possible while keeping the home safe and thorough. We immediately knew we were in good hands. A few days later, Ruben and Ivan completed the work. They were punctual, efficient, and surprisingly quiet. Not only did they finish on time, but they also managed to save an entire wall and our builder shelves. Because they saved the wall, Ruben actually adjusted our final invoice down to reflect the lower material removal--a massive financial relief for first-time homebuyers. Ruben took extensive photos, walked me through the containment zone to explain their findings, and even returned the next day to walk my husband through the exact same breakdown so we were both fully informed. The final report they provided was incredibly thorough, detailing every single step with photographic evidence. My husband can be very picky about contracted work, and even he was completely impressed and had zero critiques. We were so incredibly stressed, and the calm presence and expertise this team brought into our home was invaluable. After a separate, highly disappointing experience with a different local plumbing company just days prior, "Good Time" completely restored our faith in local businesses. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

This is a long overdue review for ATH! They handled two major home projects for us in 2025 in a…read moremidcentury modern condo. This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism, flexibility and high standards. Thanks to the ATH Team!

I would recommend Emergency Flood Team to anyone who has experienced water damage and needs a company they can rely on and communicate with. We set the day and time. We moved most of the furniture off the tile. An hour after they were supposed to be here, I called Gary and asked when they would be here. He said they were having mechanical problems and would be there in a half hour to an hour. An hour later, still nobody. I called to cancel and was told there would be a $129 cancellation fee. I tild him no but he kept trying to talk, so I said goodbye and hung up. This is the text he sent: Brandon is in route. You can either stick with the scheduled service for today or the $129 cancellation fee will apply. Please don't hang up on me or yell at me when trying to discuss. Unfortunately, as running a business, sometimes we have to deal with situations that were not expected having to do with vehicles and mechanical breakdowns. Sometimes during those times, time gets away from us as we're trying to scramble to get vehicles and equipment to the right to repair shops. I get there are delays but if you don't let people know, don't be surprised if they cancel.

I will not do business with the Grout Medic again…read more Pros - Gary and his crew are able to lay tile and do a decent job. - The price was reasonable for the amount of work that was done. Cons - The price on the proposal changed without my knowledge or consent. I was told at the end of the job "I will send you an invoice, and the price has changed. I don't know how much yet." Who does that? I never signed a change order or agreed to pay any extra. The communication was horrible. Technically, since no change order was signed I should have only paid the proposed amount. The up charge was $140 so it was easier to just pay it and move on with my life. Otherwise I would have fought it. - The proposal says the prices are subject to change. Watch out for this because they may use that as a blank check to charge you more without your knowledge or consent. They will tell you about the price change once the job is completed which is a terrible business practice. - Gary ONLY knows tile. Don't trust him with anything else, especially plumbing. I hired him because the upstairs toilet was leaking and the tile needed to be redone. I told him the toilet flange was too low and it would need a spacer to raise it up for the toilet install. What does he do? He lays the tile right next to the flange so a spacer cannot be installed without cutting the tile around the flange. When asked about it he said "we fixed it how we found it." That's the problem. How you found it was why the toilet leaked in the first place. He has no outside the box thinking or problem solving skills and didn't think to carve the tile away from the flange. It's not even outside the box thinking. I literally told him that was the main problem and cause of the initial toilet leak. He said he could carve the tile away if it turned out to be an issue. His other employee also said the plumber could easily carve off whatever tile they needed to in order to install the toilet. Yes the plumber will cut the tile for an additional fee of $175. You guys are supposed to be the tile experts. You should know not to have tile next to or overhanging a toilet flange. The Grout Medics were initially going to reinstall the toilet for me and were going to use two wax rings, which is completely wrong. Good thing I am going to hire a plumber to install the toilet correctly, otherwise I would just get another leak again down the road and be in the same position. - They will make it right for you, for a fee. The job was not done to my satisfaction. I was told they could come back and cut the tile around the flange but it would cost a minimum of $129. They could have addressed this issue while they were still on the job site but I was assured the plumber would cut the tile around the flange for me. It was just laziness, lack of knowledge, poor customer service, and not making sure the job was done in a way that would solve the root issue. In conclusion Gary and his crew can lay tile but don't expect them to know how to do anything else. They may raise the price on you without your knowledge or consent. They may install your toilet incorrectly which will lead to more leaks. They may want to charge you even more if the job isn't done to your satisfaction. I will never recommend the Grout Medic to anyone and will never do business with them again.
