I was looking through the right side of my windshield, making a right turn. I noticed something odd on it. I wasn't sure if it was dirt on the outside or my windshield had a chip. When I got to the underground parking lot, I inspected my car's windshield. It was indeed a stone chip. Fortunately, I have experienced the worst case getting a stone chip, as weird as this statement sounds. Years ago, I was driving to park my car at work. I was heading to the airport on highway 401 and heard a stone hit my windshield. I saw the crack. It started off small. By the time I had parked my car, it was roughly 3.5 inches in length. That issue required replacing the entire windshield. It wasn't the ideal situation going on vacation halfway around the world and having to deal with a glass issue. I had to wait for the windshield to arrive before I could take my car in. It took an entire day to complete once I was back. I didn't know whether I'd end up with that scenario again or if this stone chip was more self-contained. I decided to file a claim with my insurance once I got to the room. My insurance policy covers stone chips. Since this chip was no larger than a quarter, the woman on the phone at my insurance said that it could be fixed immediately. She looked up auto glass places near the hotel where I was staying. She found this UniglassPlus. She booked an appointment for noon the following day. I dropped by this store at around 11:30 am on a Friday. It took me four minutes to drive over here. Easy! I backed into a spot and headed inside. I was immediately greeted by Mark, who was extremely chipper and had a lovely personality. He let me know that he saw my appointment when he walked through the door at 6 am. Man, I wish that I had a smidge of his enthusiasm. I wonder if it's fuelled by caffeine or if he is naturally like that all day long. He asked for my car's key fob. He immediately contacted a technician to fetch my car that I had parked at the front. He said that it would take thirty minutes or so. I sat down and relaxed. You could get coffee or water in the corner facing Cyrville Road. This place has a Keurig machine, so you could technically bring your own pods in if you're that type of coffee or tea drinker. I had an energy drink with me, so I was good. I still think that energy drinks do nothing for me. My demeanour is consistent with or without consuming an energy drink. I even wrote a Yelp review while I waited because I had nothing better to do! Mark let me know that my car was done and the technician drove the car to the storefront. He said that there was a tiny dot left where the chip was and that this fix was under warranty for life. Cool! He gave me the printed details. A copy of it automatically went to my insurance company. I thanked him and left. I headed to my go-to Starbucks about two minutes away. While lined up at the drive-thru, I could barely see the spot where the chip was. The fix was great. I have since driven back home and the fix continues to hold up. It's never great having something odd like a stone chip happen while you are on vacation. Thanks to my insurance setting up the repair at UniglassPlus, it was peace of mind getting it done before I headed home. I got in just before the weekend had started. Service was excellent and customer service was stellar. I hope that you never encounter glass issues with your car. However, if you do and are in the Gloucester area, I highly recommend coming here. Although we were hours from a long weekend holiday he went out of his way to make sure the window was fixed before 5pm. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO JEFF"S AUTO AND GLASS UNTIL YOU READ MY FULL REVIEW...YOU WILL BE STUND…read moreAND AMAZED TO READ ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE HERE AND MAYBE AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING TO YOU!!!!!!! I took my vehicle to Jeff's auto on Thursday May 7/26 for a simple windshield repair. During my visit an employee by the name of Derek worked on vehicle. As he was working on repairing my windshield, I asked if you people also did key lock repairs as the tailgate lock on my Jeep was seized. He was unsuccessful in freeing up the key lock cylinder. To access the key lock cylinder he had to remove a plastic grille cover on the inside part of the tailgate. After applying several lubricant sprays it appeared he was unsuccessful in unseizing the cylinder. He then proceeded to replace the plastic grille and it appears that at this time he damaged this part as this was the only time and he was the only person who removed and replaced this part on my vehicle. Unfortunately I did not realize that this had happened until I took a closer look the following morning Friday May 8/26. I immediately called to report this to Jeff's Auto. I spoke to an employee by the name of Amanda. I explained to her that I just noticed that this occurred. My car was not damaged before I took my vehicle to Jeff's Auto and after I left it discovered this part was damaged. You do the math. She refused to believe that Derek could have damaged my vehicle as she said if he did he definitely would have admitted to doing this. Well I said he must have known he damaged the part because he was the only person who touched my car, and I explained when he was replacing the part that was damaged, I noticed he just slammed the part back into place, since it had clips on one side that snap into place. I further explained he must have noticed this is when the part was damaged because at that time I saw something falling from my vehicle, which Derek seemed to pick up, which I thought was just something he was holding in his hand, (like a bolt or screw that also belonged to the damaged part. When she asked me why I didn't say anything at that time, I simply explained I didn't think much of at the time, as I also thought it may of possibly just been some dirt that fell off the back of my vehicle when Derek slammed the part back into place, since I drive a Jeep Wrangler and I do a lot of driving on dirt roads where I live. She abruptly accused me of falsely accusing Derek as she stated he an honest person and he would have owed up to it if he caused the damage. (I never said these next three sentences to Amanda. I am just including them as I am thinking out loud, for the purpose of adding more details to my review). Well obviously he DID NOT ADMIT TO CAUSING THE DAMAGE!!!!.....There is no possible other explanation as to how the part was damaged. It just doesn't become damaged on its own over night. At this time she said send me a picture(which I did several hours later that day) and I will go ahead and order to replace the damaged part and let you know when it is delivered and I could return and have them install it. Great, all is good all sounds good right!!......WRONG!!!....I received an email from Amanda shortly after I sent her the picture of the damaged part. Here is the email response Amanda sent to me shortly after I sent he the picture. "Hey Mario, We have placed the order for the new part, unfortunately it is saying it won't be in till the end of June. Derek has a jeep at home he went and checked for it, but his is broken as well. I will let you know when the part arrives." Just to let you know, before I sent the picture I also did a search on Amazon just to get more detail like a part # and stock/availability( one left in stock) and being a prime member it would be delivered in two days(by Sunday May 10/26). So once again I immediately called back and explained that I see it currently on Amazon with a two day delivery window. As we were discussing this she look it up and confirmed to me over the phone that we were both looking at the exact same item and details about the item, like the part name and the delivery window. Her response was....I will let her know as she is also a prime member and I will get her to cancel the original order and reorder the one we were both looking at on Amazon. I thanked her and said let me know what happens. At this time I had no idea who "her/she" was she made reference too, nor did she explain who this person was, so I figured after all this if Amanda say this is what she is going to do, I really didn't have much choice but take her word for it....and just wait and hope for the best......Unreal right people......You couldn't make this stuff up!!!!
