DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO JEFF"S AUTO AND GLASS UNTIL YOU READ MY FULL REVIEW...YOU WILL BE STUND…read moreAND AMAZED TO READ ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE HERE AND MAYBE AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING TO YOU!!!!!!! I took my vehicle to Jeff's auto on Thursday May 7/26 for a simple windshield repair. During my visit an employee by the name of Derek worked on vehicle. As he was working on repairing my windshield, I asked if you people also did key lock repairs as the tailgate lock on my Jeep was seized. He was unsuccessful in freeing up the key lock cylinder. To access the key lock cylinder he had to remove a plastic grille cover on the inside part of the tailgate. After applying several lubricant sprays it appeared he was unsuccessful in unseizing the cylinder. He then proceeded to replace the plastic grille and it appears that at this time he damaged this part as this was the only time and he was the only person who removed and replaced this part on my vehicle. Unfortunately I did not realize that this had happened until I took a closer look the following morning Friday May 8/26. I immediately called to report this to Jeff's Auto. I spoke to an employee by the name of Amanda. I explained to her that I just noticed that this occurred. My car was not damaged before I took my vehicle to Jeff's Auto and after I left it discovered this part was damaged. You do the math. She refused to believe that Derek could have damaged my vehicle as she said if he did he definitely would have admitted to doing this. Well I said he must have known he damaged the part because he was the only person who touched my car, and I explained when he was replacing the part that was damaged, I noticed he just slammed the part back into place, since it had clips on one side that snap into place. I further explained he must have noticed this is when the part was damaged because at that time I saw something falling from my vehicle, which Derek seemed to pick up, which I thought was just something he was holding in his hand, (like a bolt or screw that also belonged to the damaged part. When she asked me why I didn't say anything at that time, I simply explained I didn't think much of at the time, as I also thought it may of possibly just been some dirt that fell off the back of my vehicle when Derek slammed the part back into place, since I drive a Jeep Wrangler and I do a lot of driving on dirt roads where I live. She abruptly accused me of falsely accusing Derek as she stated he an honest person and he would have owed up to it if he caused the damage. (I never said these next three sentences to Amanda. I am just including them as I am thinking out loud, for the purpose of adding more details to my review). Well obviously he DID NOT ADMIT TO CAUSING THE DAMAGE!!!!.....There is no possible other explanation as to how the part was damaged. It just doesn't become damaged on its own over night. At this time she said send me a picture(which I did several hours later that day) and I will go ahead and order to replace the damaged part and let you know when it is delivered and I could return and have them install it. Great, all is good all sounds good right!!......WRONG!!!....I received an email from Amanda shortly after I sent her the picture of the damaged part. Here is the email response Amanda sent to me shortly after I sent he the picture. "Hey Mario, We have placed the order for the new part, unfortunately it is saying it won't be in till the end of June. Derek has a jeep at home he went and checked for it, but his is broken as well. I will let you know when the part arrives." Just to let you know, before I sent the picture I also did a search on Amazon just to get more detail like a part # and stock/availability( one left in stock) and being a prime member it would be delivered in two days(by Sunday May 10/26). So once again I immediately called back and explained that I see it currently on Amazon with a two day delivery window. As we were discussing this she look it up and confirmed to me over the phone that we were both looking at the exact same item and details about the item, like the part name and the delivery window. Her response was....I will let her know as she is also a prime member and I will get her to cancel the original order and reorder the one we were both looking at on Amazon. I thanked her and said let me know what happens. At this time I had no idea who "her/she" was she made reference too, nor did she explain who this person was, so I figured after all this if Amanda say this is what she is going to do, I really didn't have much choice but take her word for it....and just wait and hope for the best......Unreal right people......You couldn't make this stuff up!!!!

In May 2016, a careless lane change from another driver resulted in a dent about 6" wide on the…read morerear quarter panel of my 2015 Scion FR-S. The point of impact also occurred on the bodyline, which likely added more labour costs to the damage. An insurance bailout was no longer a viable option, as my insurer notified me that the accident was deemed to be a 50/50 fault (much to my dismay). The only offering from them was waiving 50% of my deductible. However, if I proceeded my premium would have alarmingly increased 340$. Without a witness and police report, I should have expected this outcome from my insurance company (lesson learned). I already obtained an estimate from the accredited Tony Graham Collision Centre (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/tony-graham-collision-centre-ottawa), which was north of 2000$. I tried another Insurance-designated shop, Fix Auto on Bentley Ave (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/fix-auto-nepean-nepean). Their estimate nearly matched Tony Graham at about 1900$. Subsequently, I decided it would be more cost effective to foot the bill sans-Insurance. I am quite certain that I sufficiently prospected all of the highly-ranked/starred auto body shops in Ottawa according to Google and Yelp. After I mapped out these shops, I drove to each and obtained estimates. It was not an easy or glaring choice, as a number of shops presented competitive estimates and friendly service. The repair time was virtually identical at all shops (3 days). JR Body Shop on Jamie Ave (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/j-r-body-shop-nepean) was my first consideration, as I serviced my first owned car here (1986 Toyota Corolla) with them between 2003-2006. Their estimate was about 1200$. I received a similar estimate (1000-1200$) around the block from JR at MK Auto Body (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/mk-auto-body-ottawa-2) on Bentley Ave. I then checked out a shop in the Billings Bridge area - Art's Auto Repair (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/arts-auto-repair-ottawa) on Kaladar Ave. Their estimate (800$) and service was exceptional. I believe my repair window was only 1 day here too. So I short-listed Art's to the top of my list so far. My next planned route was the Glebe as there were a cluster of shops in that neighbourhood. I received my lowest estimate at Adriatica (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/adriatica-paint-and-body-shop-ottawa) on Beech St for 600$ - however the paint would not be blended. I thought blending was an implied SOP when painting cars, so I did not want to risk a colour mismatch with the other adjacent panels. Next, Aleks on Gladstone Ave estimated 805$ (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/aleks-auto-body-works-ottawa-3). Milano Auto Body & Paint (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/milano-auto-body-ottawa) on Aberdeen St became another leading consideration due to their great professional service. Their estimate was 836$. This was the first shop where I felt I received a comprehensive estimate, due to the fact that I left with a breakdown of all the labour, parts and costs (similar to what I received from my Insurance company). However, their next appointment was not until the following month. So I favoured Scotty's (https://www.yelp.ca/biz/scottys-auto-body-ottawa). Although my preliminary estimate was 1000$, my appraiser dropped it to 800$ after discussing the blending/repainting with his team again. My legwork with competitive estimates at other shops could have likely been a factor as well :)  Similar to Milano's, I received a document from Scotty's using the same Audatex estimating platform. So I had 4 estimates in the 800$ arena. A conclusive factor for Scotty's was that they also repaired some minor front-end damage at NO EXTRA CHARGE (there was basically some scrapes and small dents on the bottom of my bumper). Finally, my car was actually ready in 2 days, in contrast to their expectant 3 days. The finished repairs were exceptional (before and after pictures posted with my review might not be vivid enough). There were no signs a dent even existed, bumper unscuffed, and more importantly seamless paint blending. From various vantage points, I did not notice any different shades of red between the repaired rear panel and the undamaged door panel.

The reason can be…read moresummed up very simply, EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP, REASONABLE COST AND HONEST AND FRIENDLY SERVICE. Remarkably, I don't know anyone who has had their vehicle(s) repaired by them who did not feel completely satisfied with their service. i have and will continue recommending them to others. Scotty's Auto Body deserves special recognition for standing out amongst its competitors. Allan Cracower
