I have been going to this vet for over 15 YEARS at this presently I have 3 dogs that which two are puppies I went today for a puppy visit for both and Dr.Markowitz which is the co-owner who was the vet on duty was very rude and arrogant. After waiting in the car for over half an hour and waiting in the for proximity 15 minutes he asked me what shot the puppy and refused to rested the puppy's paperwork. When Dr.Perez was there everyone was more friendly including the office staff. I went there and about July and there was another lady veterinarian there, which was very friendly and answered any questions that I had. So when the visit was over, I was asking the medical assistant how do I get that that he he peeped his head in the door and said started talking and I said excuse me, I'm talking to this young lady, and he said oh, I can answer your question, and I said no thank you this young lady can answer my question he slammed the door. Then I get in my car to look at my bill that I paid and I see that he charged me $91 for office exam. He did not even look in her ears. Look at her eyes look at her bottom. He only asked me if there was any problems and I said no I would not recommend this vet to anyone. I feel like they are not there for the puppies anymore the way he administered the shot and my puppy was very painful. She cried out. Normally they like rub it with their hands after they administered the shot, he did not do that, so in my opinion, please take your puppy dogs cats to someone else. I've already made appointment and they were very accommodating for another vet. Good luck.

Amazing staff, very helpful, compassionate and take time to explain your pet's treatment plan. Especially helpful in scheduling a last minute emergency appointment. I highly recommend Union Animal Hospital.

Talk about great service! They were able to squeeze me in right at closing time, so I was able to get a shot for my dog, that will allow her to be boarded. The staff is so nice and the facility is super clean and modern!

After several months, it was discovered she had a neurological disorder. We were referred to a neurologist. Our job was to keep her comfortable for her remaining time with us. Despite no longer treating her, the doctor and staff called to check on her. They listened when I called them crying, concerned about what to do next. They sent a handwritten card after they learned that we had lost her. We have since adopted my pup's sister and have returned to Cranford Animal Hospital. When you walk in (with or without your furry friend) they know who you are. We were there last night and sat with the vet tech for 15 minutes while she listened and made my scared puppy feel comfortable before bringing her back for routine vaccinations. I have seen both doctors and they are both incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. If I call during business hours, I've never had to leave a message. Someone always answers the phone. If anything other than normal test results come back, the doctor calls you directly to discuss next steps. I see many people complain about the cost of service. You pay for the care you get, and I truly believe that. My biggest advice, GET INSURANCE. I pay the cost up front and get reimbursed by insurance. You can browse plans online and choose your deductible and reimbursement percentage. You can get wellness/prevention covered as add ons to most plans. Thank you to ALL the staff at Cranford Animal Hopsital. You are all so much more appreciated than you know! Keep doing exactly what you're doing! -- Sassi, Lightning, and Ashley

Their response to end of life care was less than ideal and made a distressing decision and experience worse. She gave no excuses for the poor performance of the staff, which is what the vet on duty tried to do that night, and apologized profusely, thanking me for the feedback. She asked what could they have done differently and was resolute in her promise to address the staff. It doesn't change the experience I endured but I left there believing I was heard and, going forward, patients would be treated with more empathy and compassion. Because Sasha has been going to the Union Banfield since she was 8 weeks old and received all her vaccines there, I naturally rushed her there first thing in the morning. She has never been sick before, so I expected a little empathy. Instead, I was met with complete disbelief. After explaining how much pain Sasha was in, they flat-out refused to see her. They literally just slid a clipboard across the counter with a list of other locations and turned us away. To be turned away by your primary vet when your puppy is hurting is heartbreaking.
