Thursday evening when Jax settles from from his visit.

I usually go to the Woodbridge location but due to Covid-19 They where closed and I had to bring my dog to Union. I called the week before to schedule my appointment for Monday 5/11/20 upon my arrive I was told I didn't have a appointment which was odd seeing as my file was transferred the week before so it proves I called. I was not able to come back Tues. or Wed. so I rescheduled for Thur. 5/14/2020. I dropped off my dog approximately 9:30a.m for a routine Wellness visit. My fiancé arrived at Banfield to pick up our pet approximately 5:00p.m. Upon leaving the facility, He noticed Jax being very distressed and whimpering. As he was putting Jax in his vehicle, he noticed that his mouth was full of blood. Immediately brought Jax back inside Banfield, Union and informed the staff of the situation. He asked why the dogs mouth was bleeding and was told he may have evening biting the cage waiting for us. The staff took Jax back into the exam room to assess the situation. Approximately 15 minutes later, a veterinarian came back to speak with him. They informed him that Jaxs tooth was fractured and the nerve was exposed. She gave him a number to a veterinarian dental specialist and told him he was required to either get the tooth pulled or crowned due to the severity of the tooth. She prescribed him Rimadyl 75 mg chewable tablets for 3 days for the pain. She told him there was nothing they can do for him and to call the specialist even though Jax's tooth was completely healthy before his routine exam. He then left and contacted me to explained the situation. I immediately called Banfield and spoke with the physician, Dr. Youssef, who cared for Jax during the visit. Dr. Youssef explained that, in her opinion, this incident could not of happened by chewing on the cage and that it is a long term issue. I explained that his tooth was healthy before we dropped him off for his visit and they can refer back to his dental records his last yearly cleaning was in November 2019. My dog he is a hyper, hand on dog, he is alway in my face and in top of me. I know he came in with 2 front canine and came out with one fractured. I requested to looked at any video camera footage from when he arrived. They said that's not possible! I asked why wasn't I informed upon leaving his heath status? They are supposed to tell us about there findings upon leaving. Dr. Youssef then informed me that Jax resisted when she tried to do an oral exam on him that afternoon, so she was unable to check his teeth during his stay at Banfield. I thought that was odd because he always lets them check his mouth. I was also told that Jax needed to be muzzled while he had his vaccines. I have never had this problem with any other locations. I asked for a supervisor. Crystal explained the situation again to Dr. Goswami, and she reiterated that this incident could not have happen in their office, and that there's no way that Jax could've broken his tooth by chewing on the cage or muzzle. Dr. Goswami did not get to do a physical check on Jax and could not explain why his gums and tip of tooth were bleeding? No one could explain! If you look at Jax's gums now that they are not bleeding you can tell that he has perfect gums. The only thing that is wrong with him now is that he has half of a left front canine tooth coming out of the Union Location. We always take pride in taking care of Jax as he is a huge part of our family. We are very active in the care for him and without a doubt would have noticed a deteriorating problem with his front tooth. His mouth has never been full of blood. No one could explain why did it start there? We have been members of banfield since Jax was a puppy, to treat us the way we have been treated is extremely careless and unfair from this location. We are beyond distressed with what happened to Jax Thursday. We immediately took him to another Vet the next morning to get a second opinion if the wound was new or old. They said it was New because the tooth did not discolored and still had blood flow. The pulp was exposed, the tooth was viable and there was no bleeding or tarter at that time he was being examined. Banfield Union will not even consider the possibility of this happened in there location. I have been working around the clock to try to come to a resolution. It is Sunday night and my dog is definitely starting to show signs of pain since we left Thursday. He even throw up Thursday leaving Banfield which was odd. We are beyond distressed with what happened to Jax at this location. My world has been turned upset down since Thursday.I will never bring him he to this location and I may be force to get a lawyer. I will update his progress...

I went to this location because I heard the staff is excellent and it was a closer location since the previous banfield I went to. I am generally a very knowledge based person and I feel that Dr. Taylor takes the time to explain the results and plan thereafter. My Luna had abnormal liver bloodwork and Dr. taylor explained the ultrasound she would need to check for liver shunts. She eventually had to go to a liver specialist to get a biopsy where they found she has Congenital Liver Fribrosis. A rare disorder consisting of a malformed ductal plate. I will be continuing to go to Dr. Taylor as I feel like she really cares about the needs of my pet and me. Thank you!

They refunded us the fee we paid, but I still wouldn't bring my pet here nor recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Nancy kept insisting that she told us the pre-surgery instructions yesterday when she didn't. Later Dr. Ferreira said they'd tell us this tomorrow, so the front desk lady keeps saying she said things she never said! Then a nice staff asks me to explain what happens. I tell Sean, and he said Dr. Nazar whom we saw, can perform surgery on my pet if we decide to move forward. Now, I'm feeling comfortable as Dr. Nazer seem good. I tell the front desk this, and they said they removed me and can't unchange it! Nancy at front desk mishears me and mistates to Dr. Ferreira that "Sean said that they can do the surgery" when all he said was, I have the option to do it if I wanted to. While we were talking in the room, Dr. Ferreira apparently told them to remove and don't schedule because when I said I'd want to do it for my cat's sake, she replied that they won't help me because I told them that i didn't like their services and told me to go elsewhere. Just WOW. When I tried to speak up, she'd accuse me of "yelling at her". She expects you to go silently w/o protest after she kicks you out of the office. When i told her, "Basically your siding w/ your front desk staffs", she replied, "I'm protecting this whole office." She's talking to me w/ one hand on her hip and looking at me hard and mean. I realize that I don't want to come here, like ever. There are some PROS: Dr. Nazer seems solid and good. Sean was deescalating when he took me to the room and talked. CONS: I waited 55 min yesterday to be seen b/c there was just 1 vet. There was an urgent case, so on those days, expect to wait a long time. Front desk is incompetent and mishears all the time. What she hears you say and what you actually said are different. Same with what she actually says and thinks she says are different. Cost is high. I paid almost $1K for basic exams for 2 cats. Had 1 blood work done on 1 cat and cleaned out his ears and got an eardrop. This EXCLUDES any teeth surgery procedures.

They answered immediately and were waiting outside for us when we arrived. The entire staff was incredibly compassionate--not only with my dog, but with every animal and pet owner they were caring for. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and kept me informed every step of the way during a very stressful situation. I am so grateful for the care we received and wouldn't trust my pet with anyone else.

The gentle and informative technician was understanding and kind. My presence by Blue's side on & off was welcomed. They answered questions I asked, explaining where we were in Blue's care plan. I'd like to mention the check in/front desk/admin staff. They made sure to offer water, tissues, show where snacks were if needed. And, were very patient with issues I had in getting my debit card to process, as the extra stress I was reacting to. Ultimately, it appeared Blue contacted a bacteria, which was well in its way to shutting down and overwhelming his liver and other basic functions. Dr Howe was incredibly gentle in explaining Blue would not recover anything like his usual active, engaging & funny life. So, we put him to sleep - Dr Howe let me & adult child come to this conclusion. We left to tell other family members, but the decline accelerated, so she called, and we immediately returned. We were allowed privacy & the time we needed to say goodbye, she explained how painless and gentle the process was, and again, we given all the time we needed. Thank you very, very much from all of our family.
