It's a delightful modern cafe situated near a beautiful river. Very scenic. The place inside is tiny, and some chairs are actually just stools that are uncomfortable to sit in after a long time. Some chairs have back support. The full Irish breakfast is excellent. Loved the tomato jam that they provided - it tasted fabulous with the toast. The Eggs and meats were all cooked well. A hearty way to start the day. I also got a pot of the South of France tea, which was excellent! Very soothing and loved the notes of fruit. Service was excellent and friendly.

A great place for a breakfast! If you like the special breakfasts you'll really have to check this place out! The prices are fine for what you get on your plate and the servers are super nice! 5 out of 5 stars!!

I had a delicious breakfast of porridge with orange zest, pears, and walnuts and a pot of breakfast tea. Quick and friendly service too. It filled up with people quickly, so I would get there early.

Roast chicken sandwich with stuffing on granary. Side of carrot and feta. Seriously good. Seriously addictive.

I returned to Grove Road today for a lunch date and opted for the Roast Chicken sandwich with stuffing on granary bread. Sweet tap dancing Jebus it was delicious. Even the salad on the side of carrot and feta deserves a mention. Yummy. I think I'm addicted now. And I dare not try any other sandwich on the menu. I'll definitely be back.

I can't say a lot about this place, I got in because I wanted to drink something hot, dreaming secretly of a matcha milk tea, what they actually didn't had, but it's not really common so, I decided to take a flat white, with soy milk since it's written that they have some. I first asked the barman what was the difference between a flat white and a latte, because I had no idea of the difference, I was a bit shy about asking this because they was another person waiting to order, but he answered really nicely and I didn't felt like bothering him at all which was really pleasant ! So I ordered a flat white with soy milk, unfortunately they were out of soy milk, aww... I then had to change my plans and opted for a tea, it's very nice because they have tiny containers where you can smell the tea and make your choice. So I took an Irish breakfast tea, which was really good. The place is really nice and cosy, definitely a place where I could spend an afternoon working on my computer. The barman was really cheerful, I think it's really rare to see someone THAT nice in a bar / coffee shop / restaurant, and it's always really enjoyable ! I decided to take a loyalty card and he even added a second stamp on it to apologize for the soy milk, so I would definitely not hold that against them.

Chicken ciabatta with a side of avocado

Great spot for a quick bite or a coffee. I stopped in for lunch earlier this month and ordered the chicken ciabatta with a side of avocado. The service was speedy and my sandwich was tasty and filling. For those who enjoy people watching...grab a seat along the window bar. Will return!

    Feta and Avocado smash

This spot has been under the guise of various names and types of cuisine, more recently The Grove Cafe, serving light meals. At lunch there's a small menu of lovely sandwiches, salads and soup. I had the Feta and Avocado Smash, served on sour dough bread with a bit of salad for garnish. It was very tasty and satisfying. My friend had the roast chicken and stuffing, which looked tempting. Afterwards, we had a bit of cake-me the salted chocolate brownie and she a little cake. All very nice, though I found the coffee/espresso to be very bitter, making it the worst part of my visit. After all that, though, it's worth visiting again. Great atmosphere, very warm and welcoming staff. I hope this place endures.

Delicious chicken herb sandwich and fabulous lentil soup

Wow what a place. The food was amazing. A chicken and herb sandwich with carrot and lentil soup. Moist, fresh, super tasty. I did not expect such a hearty, healthy, well-priced lunch at all! Funky music, friendly staff, lovely big windows, and plugs easily accessible to charge your phone. Do yourself a funky favour and drop in for a bite here.

Grove Road is such a cute place! The staff could not have been friendlier! The food was excellent and the portions were quite large. We had the avocado smash, the big breakfast, scones, and the porridge bowl. Everything was delicious! The space is very welcoming and comfortable also. It was our last breakfast in Ireland and we are so happy we went here!

I was walking around when I found this gem and I'm so happy I decided to drop in. The service was quick, the people were friendly, and most importantly, the food was delicious. Take note the cafe is small so you may have a wait but other than that, it's lovely!

Beautiful, small place that gets packed very quickly. Interestingly enough I thought it was a French bistro, but I believe the owners hail from Ukraine as that is the country flag that was hung outside the shape if my world history learnings are correct. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and would come back in a New York minute if I get the chance to visit Dublin again. As always people SYOY!!!

Maybe sarcastic but not rude. What was annoying was them telling everyone their credit card machine would be down and then you'd have to wash dishes or stay until it came back up. We pushed back a little and said you've literally said that to everyone then the guy became rude. So we get out cash and go to pay and he's like oh I'm restarting the machine you can pay by card. That was annoying. Other than that place was small and quaint. Serves traditional Irish breakfast items. Food was good, just don't expect anything to be favorable. For my tastes the double baked eggs were overdone, but that's double baked for you. Everything else was so delicious though that I truly didn't even notice. It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor. This means you can day drink and not even bat an eye at it being strange. The flavor was delicious and I'll be trying to recreate this at home for sure.

I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale.
