There were several additional items we could've been charged for but the fees were waived. They never made us feel rushed or pressured to pay for additional services. They were truly a blessing in our time of need. Mike Jr. even went as far as giving the clothes off his back. We purchased a suit for my father-in-law but it was too small. Mike Jr. gave us a suit of his own at no extra charge. They helped us arrange transporting my father-in-law back to his home of Queens NY in the middle of a pandemic at the epicenter. Wow. Everything absolutely exceeded our expectations. Their attention to detail, compassion, and patience translated into a beautiful ceremony and burial that will stay with us forever. Their graphics guy did an amazing job with the prayer card and portrait. We were amazed at our restful our Dad looked when we said our last goodbye. They put together a poignant burial with military honors. We will recommend Pippin to all of our friends as we know they'll be well taken care of during the most difficult time of their lives.

We were told that due to the pandemic, it'll be about 2weeks but they'd take our mother into their care the next day. Two weeks later, we received a call from the State of Delaware stating our mother was considered abandoned. BENNIE SMITH FUNERAL HOME NEVER PICKED HER UP, CONTACTED ANYONE OR PERFORMED ANY CONTRACTUAL WORK. They took our money and did NOTHING. When I called to ask why and what happened I was met with rudeness, confusion and a half apology. We were promised they would remedy the problem the next morning, which they also failed at! We waited til noon and contacted another funeral home who picked our mother up from the medical examiner and had her in their custody while Bennie Smith Funeral home were still promising to go get her. The owner should've reached out to apologize at the very least, but he didn't. After requesting a refund, all we received was a sad face and a "sorry" from the woman who handed us the refund check. This whole ordeal was further traumatizing and extremely disrespectful. Please avoid! Death of a loved one is already traumatic, this business added more stress to our heartbreak.
