While in Boston over the summer, I did some research on what to try food wise while in town and the Boston Cream Pie was one of the recommended items. Union Square donuts was a place recommended to try. Their donuts did not disappoint. They were tasty and fresh and lived up to the recommendation. I would definitely come back to try other donuts from here when back in town. The space itself is fairly tiny and compact. The service was quick and friendly.

Small little shop, the amazing donut aroma hits you upon opening the door. The Boston cream donut was lovely! Would love to try more of these donuts. Service was quick, so yummy!

Walked past Union Square Donuts. After lunch I encouraged my partner to circle back so we could grab one. It's a small shop, but cute. The staff was friendly and the selection was impressive. Everything looked delicious. We went with the Boston Cream donut. It was the obvious choice and didn't disappoint. If you are ever in or around Harvard Square, or in Cambridge, this is a place to go!

It was our first time in Massachusetts so we decided to try the traditional Boston Cream donut - it was absolutely delicious with a really nice texture and a generous portion size! The staff were so lovely and service was incredibly quick Bear in mind when visiting that there is no seating area at this location, but is only a short walk from Harvard Square!

Grand opening in October 2023! Definitely try the maple bacon, Boston cream, Belgian dark chocolate, and so many more! The shop is tiny, so it is takeout only.

Great donut lots of really original flavors. Tried the Vietnamese coffee one, the canoli one and the Guava cheese roll. I honestly wasn't floored by either but they were definitely both really solid donuts. I'd def come back to try more.

The donuts are really good! I'm not usually a big fan of donuts and I usually don't try other flavor besides the classic glazed but I was pleasantly surprised how nice the Vietnamese coffee donut was! The service was fast. It was not too busy when we went so we were able to order and get our donut immediately. The shop itself is a small, cute donut shop. You get to see all the donuts they have on the front display, which makes for a delicious and nice display

I had a great really great experience here today! I was originally attracted by their collection of fall-flavored donuts: Apple cider cake, pumpkin cream bar, pumpkin spice latte, and apple ginger! A lot of them also have vegan versions. I finally went there today to treat myself. The service was really good! Although it was a small grab and go place in Harvard square, the server greeted me warmly (I wish I've asked their name!). They recommended according to different flavors and textures (cake-based and yeast-based) to me patiently. And I ended up having "caramel pumpkin cheesecake" donut since it looked the most appealing and it has cheesecake filling. Since I was about to travel out of town and worried that these seasonal flavors will be leaving so I asked if they will be available next week--- turns out that many flavors are leaving tomorrow! I also really appreciate the server here who nicely checked their notebook and pointed out which flavors are leaving while others are not. And now comes to the tasting time!! It is a really eye-opening experience. The donut dough is so fluffy and soft. It's not over sweet at all. And compare to other chain-branded donut, they don't have that metal-chemical flavor that you know is overdosed to raise the dough. What's more, you can see the vanilla bean in the donut dough which proves a solid quality! The pumpkin cheesecake filling--- surprisingly creamy, rich, and tastes exactly like pumpkin pie but lighter/airier. I also appreciate the nutmeg and cinnamon flavor that stood out. The caramel outside is nicely covered and add pleasant sweetness. The donut is topped with gingersnap cookie crumble, tasting like a fancy version of pumpkin pie crust--- which makes the donut like a decomposed/reorganized pumpkin pie! I paired it with coffee but honestly the donut is not over sweet at all that you will not be overwhelmed even eating itself as breakie. All in all, I am totally fall in love with this donut shop! (Oh there is a discount if you are Harvard affiliated!) I would recommend if you wanna treat yourself with decent dessert while feel good about eating it (not-so-guilty because of the good stuff and reasonable sugar content!) I will definitely come back!!

One of my top donut shops. They have fun trendy flavors that cater to any taste. I got the cinnamon sugar donut and it was soft, super fluffy, and delicious. Not overly sweet, and not too bland. I finished it hours later and tasted just as perfect. They also have some of the best coffee I've tasted in Cambridge. The shop is small with not much seating, but super cute. Overall 10/10 and would love to try more flavors.

I was excited to try these donuts as I had heard so much about them and was missing a good donut shop. However, for the price of the donut, which is typically $4-5/donut, it's just not worth it. The donuts are quite large which helps justify the price but the ratio of dough is too much and it's extremely dense. The pumpkin spice latte donut was the best one out of the 4 types I ordered. That one tasted the freshest and was nice and chewy. Overall, it's a decent donut, but if I want one in the future I'll save my money and go to Dunkin which is honestly better.

We headed over and found a cute little shop with super friendly staff and a few spots to sit inside. All of the donuts looked amazing, and they even had espresso, but already my coffee fill for the day. I ordered the Boston cream donut, and it did not disappoint. The donut itself was light and fluffy, the cream filling was delicious, and the chocolate glaze on top was top notch. I can definitely see why Union Square Donuts is known as the place to get a Boston cream donut!

Pricy, Hit or Miss:…read more This is a classic donut shop, with a slightly upscale interior compared to the factory produced donut shops that grace many of America's strip malls. I am healthily skeptical of any place trying to make a donut something more than what it should be. I feared this with Union Square, but was invited in by the mystery of well crafted names and compelling flavor profiles. Service was neither good nor bad, I was a little surprised that the person working the cash register was unable to assist the two people in the back and just grab the three donuts I ordered, but perhaps its this kind of front line discipline allows them to survive the rush of early morning donut enthusiasts. The Nuts: I ordered the honey glaze chocolate, honey glaze graham cracker, vegan vanilla with sprinkles. - Honey Glaze Chocolate: "A DoNot": A dense donut, not light and airy, light on the Chocolate flavor and, most damagingly, it was dry. The frosting was there and little else. - Vegan Vanilla with Sprinkles: "A fine donut": The cake was spongy, moist enough, but a little chewy (which I believe is a plague of most vegan baked goods). Frosting was unremarkable, somewhat buoyed by the sprinkles. - The Honey Glaze Graham Cracker: "A happy little accident": I accidentally ordered this donut, but sometimes God steps in. The cake was moist and delicious. The Frosting was perhaps a little heavy on some kind of sugar, powdered? But the frosting proved to be an interesting medley of classic vanilla with just enough engaging graham cracker. I got to slightly taste the magic that likely propelled this small shop to a local chain. But as they have expanded I am sure quality control has become an issue. Pop in if you are feeling adventurous and want to gamble with $5.

But there's one table downstairs! The default tip options are 30%, 25%, 20%, which feels a bit high. For NJ this would be a below average bagel -- not enough crust, not quite chewy enough, a little bland. For Boston this is well above average, with the distinct chew of a proper bagel. The donut was only so so, dry and just sweet. Would recommend the bagels instead! They have some cream cheese spreads, but no lox flavor sadly. I'll definitely be back when I crave a bagel!

This everything bagel sandwich definitely made my morning with how yummy it was. I mean, a fluffy bagel with delicious egg and an insane cheese pull. What's not to like? I tried their Strawberry Frosted Donut too, but it fell a little short for me. It just tasted a bit dry and flavorless despite having so much topping. The bagels were far better than the donuts imo. In terms of timing, would definitely recommend coming bright & early (8AM) so you can get what you want before they sell out. Even during the early hours, the staff are so friendly & helpful. Overall, they're a fantastic breakfast spot in Davis Square.
