was not a fan of the everything bagel with veggie tofu cc, the bagel dough was pretty hard and dense and the cream cheese was bland

Pavement is a great place to grab coffee and a bagel if you are near the Smith Center. The iced coffee is good and all the bagels are tasty! On this visit, I ordered a rosemary sea salt bagel with diablo cream cheese. The bagel was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the cream cheese had just the right amount of heat.

The husband just brought back a surprise almond latte for me - holy smokes, sooo delicious!! I take it with only one shot, and hubby gets the extra shot for his espresso. The coffee is smooth, fresh and sweet without any extra sweetener. Well done!! Yummm....

Delicious local brewed iced coffee and absolutely stellar bagels. The bagels are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so flavorful. The great outdoor seating area is a plus too!

Beautiful day at Harvard

Good coffee. Vegan banana muffin was excellent. It is 22 and this place does not have nonfat milk. That's kind of sad.

The staff not wanting to wait on people!

Right near Harvard cafe this is a very spacious cafe with lots of space to sit / work. They also have free wifi. I was here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! From students to uncles having business meetings (iykyk). I really was expecting for them to have some type of chai (Yemeni or some sort). But the only chai they had was Egyptian black tea or chai latte. I settled for a chai latte with coconut milk which came to around $6. This price is on par with the cafes in the area. The chai was very sweet and had a strong spice taste which tasted like it was made from a syrup. Not the best cup of tea. Their menu has a lot of items.

It felt a bit perfunctory. Almond Croissant: I didn't expect it to have a sugary filling inside! A light cinnamon flavor, not too dry, not bad. Chocolate Croissant: A simple and straightforward croissant with a chocolate stick inside. Using dark chocolate prevented it from being too sweet, which is a plus. Plain Croissant: Surprisingly, it was still delicious even after being refrigerated for two days. The bread was very soft and had a subtle peppery aroma.

Was hoping to buy more bagels to take home for further exploration, but on weekends they have a limit of 1. Even though it doesn't make my greater Boston top 5, Black Sheep has its charm and is destined for a return visit. To be continued and I'm hoping to bump up the score.

They generally require you to order before sitting given the small space so keep that in mind when you arrive. Service is friendly and very quick. Their food is delicious and refreshing, however I'd say the star of the show is their coffee. I really enjoyed the Saigon latte especially paired with the DELICIOUS pastry. The restaurant had a really great ambiance, and I enjoyed being able to watch the chefs prepare the food. We ordered the ginger cabbage salad, the coconut eggplant, and the duck noodles. I would have loved to have tried their sushi grade salmon, but they were unfortunately sold out for the night. So I would recommend arriving earlier if you would like to try it. My favorite dish was the duck noodles. I liked the freshness of the basil in the pesto, and the tenderness and juiciness of the duck. The coconut eggplant was a close second favorite. The coconut flavor was delicious, and I liked the nuts on top for crunch. I also found the ginger cabbage salad to be yummy, but not as much as a standout as the other two dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot for dinner. I liked how fresh everything was, and how the dishes felt very light and healthy. It's definitely a bit on the pricier side, but I found it to be very worth it. I definitely come back and try their lattes and other dishes.
