Anyone who has spent time at the Widener Library knows that you have to wrap up before 10 p.m. to get a late night fix of sugar at Mike's (how many bakeries stay open that late, I ask you?) I asked the employee working if they were a chain and she explained they are a chain local to Boston. She also shared the doughnuts are made fresh every morning. Both of our donuts were huge and the frosting/filling proportions were generous. The menu consists of classics and then a featured monthly selection. I picked a classic doughnut: chocolate sprinkle. My husband went with a may selection: cherry jam Bismarck. We both loved our selections. My husband said cherry filling is rare and the flavor was spot on.
