There were 2 passengers already there waiting, but there was no one working at the front desk. God forbid I had a question about anything. There were vending machines and restrooms - 1 of which I used and it was dirty & had gnats flying all around. I've been dropped off and picked up here 2x. They do not play and rush you on and off the train. So, don't be slow or you will get left. All in all, I will continue to use this station because it's close to my family, but I don't have high expectations and realize that I'm on my own when I come here. There's no security. No nothing. So, being aware of this, I will make sure I'm only catching it during the daytime.

Turns out I was exactly where I needed to be. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were phenomenal. The cornbread was incredible. I ordered the chicken and waffles. While I would've preferred a breast or thigh over the two wings that came with it, the waffle itself was one of the best I've ever had. It had crunchy, caramelized bits of sugar throughout that reminded me of cracking into crème brûlée. Easily an 11/10 waffle. My daughter loved the mac and cheese. The best part, though, was the people. Everyone was kind, the waitress was wonderful, and my daughter made a new friend before we even got our food. If you're driving through Petersburg, don't overthink it like I almost did. Stop. Order the shrimp and grits. And definitely don't skip the waffle.

The station is located just blocks from the campus of William & Mary. Ample parking is provided and the lot was clean. The building is fitting for the area but seemed nondescript with small signage on the building. Mask are required inside regardless of vaccination status. Tickets can be purchased inside. The Men's restroom was functional and clean. I purchased my sons tickets online which was an easy to use system. Major credit cards are accepted. An email confirmation was generated immediately. The train arrived around 5 minutes late, not bad. My son rode coach for $27 from DC. Quite the bargain. He described the trip as comfortable and similar to a bus or plane with more leg room and better seating. The timing was approximately 3.5 which is slower than driving in perfect conditions which never occurs in NOVA. The return was less than 10 minutes late and quite crowded with some passengers traveling as far as Philly. My son will schedule to use them again some time in 2022. By the way, if your wondering if the conductor yells ALL ABOARD when arriving they do. Just like the movies.

I had my e-ticket on my phone and only had to wait about 10-15 before boarding. I'm not sure if we were the first stop, but they told me exactly where to get on for coach and I had my choice of seats and there were empty seats all around me. I never had anyone next to me as people got off before my DC destination. The sign I posted states this station is moving this summer which only has a month left. Too bad. This station is convenient for my friend to get to from Hampton.
