My guy friend bought light grey corduroy pants here, & he came back with me (bc idk why but I adore looking at men's' clothing???) to find the exact same pants in a tan colour. He has great difficulty finding pants bc he's relatively thin but he's 6 foot 5, so every pair of pants he buys ends up being capris (lol). For some reason the size XL in these corduroy pants fits him perfectly. I don't know if they stretch bc you wouldn't think he was a size XL if you saw him, so either the waist is thinner but the size reflects the length, or they have a great capacity to stretch but are on the longer side. I found it interesting that there was nobody on the store floor to greet us, etc. My friend said he prefers that. He kind of just walked in, bee-lined to the corduroy pants he found last time, noticed that the only Colours available were: light grey, a charcoal black, & a forest green. He wanted to get the forest green pants but he just bought a similar shade of green sweater that he keeps wearing so I suggested the black variation so that nobody mistakes him for a Christmas tree. He wants the pants in tan, so hopefully they'll come out with them, but this review is more for the buying experience. Same $ as you'd pay in H&M, Target, etc. There's self-checkout (?!?). This place is definitely for the self-sufficient, avoidant-of-human-contact, shopper. There was an employee overseeing the self check-out but not a word was muttered. I was honestly so confused but my friend was just living his best life. I think there's cashiers too which would be helpful if you were returning something or desperate for human interaction. My first time at UNIQLO and I will definitely be back. The store was much bigger and spacious than it appeared. The merchandise was neat displayed, prices were well labeled, sales were well marked, and service was very friendly. One of the trademark items is "Heattech". The long sleeve light Heattech crew neck tee was on sale and I have to say that it really works. It's very thin so you can only wear it really for layering, but I like mine as pj's so it's perfect. I will definitely buy another when it is on sale again. At this location, you put all the merchandise in a bin at checkout and the rfid readers will total the purchase. I'm glad this store re-opened and am looking forward to coming to this mall more often, as the parking lot is fairly empty. Park on level 4 at Parking 8 and you're right there. The store is super clean, and follows social distancing and cleaning. The selection is fairly good, but not to splashy, so you'll have to look carefully for some of the new designs. I've gotten used to their quality, so have shopped UNIQLO for years. While in Japan, it seems they have a larger presence, but have made some alliances with other clothing stores through joint adds and massive on-line marketing. Spent 450.00 in Uniqlo. Then they want to charge me 10c for a Bag. I will never spend another 10c in that place. So in California you can walk into a store pick up 949.99 dollars worth of merchandise and walk out and you can't get arrested. But you can wait 20 minutes for a under staffed multinational retail chain to pay 450.00 for your items to a less than enthusiastic staff member cashier. And they charge 10c for a bag. Whoever in Corporate decided they should pass that cost on to customer should be fired immediately. Just spent 250.00 at another shop across street. I generally shop exclusively at Uniqlo because I like their plain styling and the quality is decent. My 2 kids are Uniqlo head to toe. Probably spent close to 5K here over the years. Today it all went sour. I bought a pair of jeans here two weeks ago. 4 days later I noticed the fabric coming apart at the crotch for no apparent reason. Checked this model online and there are multiple people complaining about identical issue. Store manager refused to exchange them without the receipt. Who the hell keeps the receipt for clothes that are already in use? It's a shame that Uniqlo doesn't stand behind their products. Not to mention they continue to do business in Russia. Bought on line and picked up in store. They couldn't find my order and I had to wait about 45 minutes for an associate to look for it. They told me the order ID # was not acceptable and they needed my personal Id number which I had no idea what they wanted. I am handicapped and the was no place to sit down all that time. It was a really bad experience. They finally found my order and I went to try it on in the dressing room. Both pieces were ill fitting and I wanted to return them and was told that they do not accept returns on online orders! Came home to work on returning the items and their website is down. I came to check this store out with a buddy of mine. We were perusing many different clothing stores that day. Seeing as I am changing my wardrobe a bit, I was here to see if they had anything to my liking. Some stuff did catch my eye. They had a winter coat that looked nice. They had it in black, brown, and beige. They also had many different clothing items that were solid colors, which is definitely my style. Other stuff they had I did not pay attention to, as they were either too brightly colored or I simply did not care to buy the items. I can see that this clothing store is fashion forward. They just opened the week prior to me coming here, so they still have the "Heyo we're still new here" sales, which, similar to the Costa Mesa one, has cheaper deals for clothes, pants, and women's wear. And they had something fun here too: A FREE photobooth! It looked confusing because it had "insert payment" but on screen it said "Free Credits" so we had our own fun customizing stuff in the photobooth :D. The worst return policy on planet earth. I hope this marks the end of them. There's nothing sustainable or efficient about Uniqlo's business model. When you buy something online, you have to pay to ship it back. And, while they have an app, it seemingly only allows them to hire fewer cashiers. UNIQLO and I were reunited AGAIN! I love this store soooooo much. It can do no wrong in my eyes. Staff here is as expected, they offer you a bag right as you enter and the changing rooms are clean. Got a lot of shopping done here on our first day. It was ironic, we were buying all these sweaters and jackets even though we were in LA where you normally don't need that many layers. Online order for in-store pickup did not arrive for two weeks. Even though they had the item in stock, they failed to notify me that it was there. I went to the store and purchased the item, and told the cashier to cancel my online order. Short story - it was never cancelled, and I've had to waste a bunch of time with customer service trying to sort this out and make sure the refund they owe me is processed. Best deal for clothes! It is best to arrive when the store opens, and the clothes are well displayed. Always check out their FINAL SALE bins! This is where I have found the best deals. They always have certain things on SALE throughout the store too, so take your time and browse. Once you know your size, it is easy to find what works best for you. Sometimes I am a xsmall, small and medium. Don't ask me why the change in sizes, but I guess it depends on the cut, style and fit. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The dressing room is clean, and easy. There is always a staff member who helps you. Sometimes there is a line, but the line goes quickly. I love their jeans and have them in many colors. I have a few of their down jackets! These jackets are light airy and warm. I think of Uniqlo as a Japanese J. Crew. One can easily find lots of classic clothes and undergarments here. I love their tank top with the bra sewn in. These are great for under T shirts and all. Every week, they have a special sale so be on the look out for these weekly sales! read more

When I was packing to fly to Chicago I was told by numerous friends that I should bundle up warm. Living in LA for so long, it suddenly dawned on me, you're not prepared for cold weather. Then along came UNIQLO. Now I am. I bought a pair of their HEATTECH Tights (wish there was a manlier way to say that) and an Ultra Light Down jacket at a very reasonable price. I recently ordered some items online and had them delivered to the store. No one in line, went straight to the register, and it took ten minutes for the cashier to find the paperwork. My items were ready instantly, but the paperwork never was found, so she had me sign a random piece of paper. I asked if I could try them on, and was told "yes," given a door hanger for the fitting room, and nothing else. After trying on a shirt, I asked to exchange it, since it was a size too small. "No, you can't exchange a shirt once it's out of the packaging. We have sample shirts, you should have tried on one of those." This is valuable information I should have been told when I asked about trying them on, BEFORE I opened the package. To make matters worse, after calling customer service they refuse to exchange the item as well, saying once it's out of the package you can't return it (even though it doesn't say that in their return policy, only that it much be unwashed, unaltered, and with all tags still attached). read more

They kept insisting that I needed the paper receipt, even though I showed them the online order confirmation. I also showed them the shipment confirmation. No retail store ships without payment. If they had better internet service, it would have helped me get out of there faster. 20 minutes of wasted time due to their inefficiency. Wow, this place is cool. When are we getting one in Vegas? It's in Santa Monica Place, a few blocks off the pier, on the second floor. The clothing is pretty basic, but lots of great things to layer with. The prices are so reasonable! The store was amazingly neat and well organized and even the fitting rooms were spotless. My husband said the men's stuff only goes up to size XL (is that true?) so bigger guys won't find much here, I guess. I think I saw this store on Sunday Morning once and they showed these mirrors that can change the color of the shirt you're wearing, so you can see yourself in a different color without actually trying it on! Is that in the US at all, or only at the locations overseas? Because this one didn't have it. But what a cool concept! Can't wait to shop here again next time I'm in the area! read more

Just had a really bad experience in this store. Looks like a lot of other people have as well by the looks of these reviews. I have had a uniqlo jacket for about a year... it is one of my favorite jackets but yesterday the zipper broke. IMO jackets should last more than a year so i took it in asking if they would repair or exchange it. They said they would do neither, since the jacket was over 60 days old. I asked to speak to a manager (young asian woman - didn't get her name), who wasn't very nice but told me the best they could do was charge me the difference between my jacket and a new one. I agreed to that ($30 which i am more than happy to pay). But she absolutely did it begrudgingly... a fact proven by the fact that when she came back she put me in an unwinnable corner: she said they didnt have the same color in the same size, only in a size larger. When I said, that's ok i'll just take another color, she said she can't. When i said ok i'll just wait for a new one to come in, she said she cant. And then her coup d'grace was if i did take the one in the wrong size she would be cutting the tags off and making it final sale, ensuring that i could never exchange it for my correct size. So, basically she gamed me to get out of having to do the exchange. I'm pretty confident they indeed did have the size... its a new jacket style in the fall. Well played, manager, but you just lost a Uniqlo customer for life. The only thing that was clear from our exchange was that you wanted to make sure i didn't end up happy (and for what?). Uniqlo, is this really the experience you want for your customers? Next time you would be better off just saying no, and skipping the game, which only left me with a crappy feeling - and a worthless jacket. read more

This location is smaller than the one at the Beverly Center but it has all clothes for kids, ladies, and gents. The sales are always good because they bring the down the sticker price a lot. People don't know that the quality of Uniqlo is great. Most of the clothes are very conservative and are basic stuff, but there are also innovative clothes that help cool your body down, or clothes that keep you warm but they are incredibly light and comfortable. The best part of Uniqlo is the graphic T's they do collaborations with all kinds of artists and it's really fun. The down jackets are crazy light and super warm too. read more

I ordered online from Uniqlo 2 pairs of pants. I paid for hemming, but they came without hemming 10 days later. I was waiting for them for a long time. When I contacted the customer service about this issue, they sent me back an automated email that they cannot take care of the returns online and I have to go to one of the stores. I ordered online because I didn't want to go to a store. Also it is their fault that they forgot to hem my pants and still charged for it. I called both Uniqlo downtown and Santa Monica, and I only got automated messages. I cannot speak to anyone. I don't recommend ordering online. It was very disappointing because I really liked Uniqlo. Even with COVID-19, this is just not good. Update: I went to the Santa Monica store and spoke with a cashier. He told me they cannot hem my pants because the sewing machine is broken. Also they don't have a shirt I wanted to exchange and told me they are only sold online, when the email I received said returns and exchanges are only possible at the stores. How am I going to exchange a shirt at a store if they don't have them? They didn't offer anything even when I explained how crazy it has been dealing with them and it was their fault. Finally another cashier spoke to a manager and offered me a free $3 eco bag and $3 coupon. ( which I think is a joke, and the manager should have come out and spoke with me directly.) They scanned my app but when I checked it later, they didn't give me any coupon at all. I am not bothered because I wanted the coupon. I am bothered because this company can exist with such a terrible customer service. For a Japanese company, it's a disgrace and an embarrassment. I wrote directly to the Japanese headquarter in Japanese explaining how terrible this store is and the online order is in the US. Hopefully they do something about it. Update: Japanese headquarter responded and they contacted customer engagement center team leader in the US. Now he is taking care of the hemming and also the exchange for me. He also said he will submit my experience to the committee that address customer feedback to the managers.
