They were so incredibly helpful with our decision to get another vizsla, and the selection of the right pup for us. They take impeccable care of the puppies and are so obviously passionate about everything vizsla. It's infectious! They are doing this out of love and only have a couple of litters a year. Which means, if you want one of their puppies, you have to act fast. It looks like they are taking deposits on the spring litter right now. I know from our experience that the puppies went really quickly and there is a good reason for this. I would recommend this breeder to anyone looking for a vizsla. Look no further. Brody is fabulous...in perfect condition and he has the best temperament. He's great with other dogs and all people, including kids. He is just a hearty, healthy guy who loves life. Seems all of their puppies have these same qualities which says a lot. Also, they run the Socal Vizsla Rescue organization at www.socalvizslarescue.org. Unfortunately (or fortunately) there are a lot more people willing to rescue than there are dogs available, but it is a great organization and it just speaks to the vizsla commitment by these ladies.

I started training him to be comfortable on the leash as soon as he was fully vaccinated and we haven't look back since. He was even featured in the 2020 SDHS Calendar as Mr. July (proud mom here). He loves to play fetch and gets along well with the other pets in my home (another cat and a miniature husky). While I would recommend at least six months between grieving and taking on the work of a new puppy - we dove right in. We picked up our new puppy at nine weeks and he has been the best boy. This breeder told us her labs were more on the calmer side of labs, she wasn't kidding! Our first lab was hell on wheels for a good 9 years. Our Rocky is so chill, we still can't believe how easy going he is. He is kinda an "old soul" with an occasional zoomies moment here and there. He is such a sweetheart. People ask me often if we got a rescue. There's such a stigma with using breeders, we are often asked "did you rescue him?" I always answer, he rescued me.

She is so smart, has been super easy to train, is confident yet so sweet with our 8 year old female lab. Our past couple of labs have come from a breeder in the Prunedale, CA area. Unfortunately they both had various issues...one we had to re-home due to resource guarding issues, and our current one has had to have ACL surgery in both knees. Although she has been sweet, she has been a money pit. I concluded I could not get another lab from that breeder. We could not have found a better pup than Joy. She is beautiful, super smart, and has not had any medical issues. No ear infections, skin irritations, nothing! She is also very well socialize and not as nervous as our other Lab.

We found a dog we were very interested in, filled out the application, answered their follow-up questions, and were told that someone would be contacting us to arrange a meeting with the dog and a home visit. We were excited and anxiously waiting to hear from them. Then--crickets. After a full week, I emailed and called to follow up. Still no response. Nothing. This is no way to treat people who are emotionally invested and anxiously waiting to meet what they hope will be their new family member. Are they really too busy to show basic courtesy? How difficult is it to send a quick email or text saying, "We're working with another applicant right now, but we'll let you know"? Or even, "We're overwhelmed and it may take us a little longer to get back to you"? Instead, they make promises about next steps and then simply ghost you. The most frustrating part is that these dogs need loving homes. It isn't their fault that the humans running the rescue have such awful communication and apparently so little regard for the people trying to adopt them. Based on our experience, I absolutely would NOT recommend The Barking Lot if you genuinely want to adopt a dog and expect even basic communication during the process. Don't tell prospective adopters someone will be contacting them and then disappear. People deserve better--and frankly, so do the dogs.

We did, and now at the age of barely 5, our little Henry has been diagnosed with SARDS. (Sudden Aquired Retinal Detachment Syndrome) He'll be completely blind in a month or so. He went from being a super hyper loving energetic active dog, to being hesitant, nervous, unable to track his toys, bumping into things etc. Weve done all the necessary things to insure his safety while he navigates his new normal, but our hearts are shattered for him.
