But I noticed right away after sitting down how unclean the entire space was. Nail dust covers just about everything. During my fill, there was never an attempt to wipe away any of the dust from surfaces. I had a morning appointment, so I had to wonder when the last time was that they had cleaned - including the gel lamp - it was filthy from inside/out. I was hesitant to put my hands in it, but unfortunately, the only way to turn it on is to place your hand on the bottom surface of the lamp (so I had to touch all of that muck sitting on the surface). As for my nails themselves - the gel was sloppily applied and not evened out. I was expecting the uneven surfaces to be filed down during the finishing process, but most of them were left uneven and lumpy. In all of the 20+ years I've been getting gel nails, I don't think I've ever had a manicure that looked so unprofessional. I could have done better myself.

It seems like they only specialize and do a good job on those styles. I came to Sconka with a friend and decided to have a manicure done with gel polish. We walked in and the first thing I notice is that it was busy, which should give you a good indication that they do a good job. First red flag: Jasmin is the only one doing nails on three other customers, basically going back and forth to each one. Her assistants are doing touch ups on polish or putting stones on. And the time and attention paid to the customers was insane. No time to take each client and show them the time they need. I pick my color out sit down and they begin to start on me. Second red flag, no attention to nail care. Didn't take care of cuticle clean up and or file nails to size and or shape desired. Buffed nails and started to do gel acrylics. When asked about it said it was the way to go so it would keep natural nails healthy and stronger. So I decided hey, she's the professional let's go with it. After she finished the gel nails she did buff them and file, but not to the point where they should be nice and squared or even. Left that alone since I figured she'd come back to it after we were done. Wrong, next step was putting on the shine finish polish and we were done. I could not believe that was it. I seriously could have done the job they did at home and probably better when it came down to the manicure. Thankfully had a $5 coupon off because I would not have paid more than $20 dollars for the manicure I received. If you are going to have a nail salon, make sure your final details on your clients are something that you are happy with. Those clients are your walking advertisement to endorse people to come and have their nails done by you. Because they walk out feeling great, but if they come out unhappy with the end results, that's just one person to make sure they never go back again. I do feel bad leaving this review since Jasmin and her girls were very nice and friendly, but sometimes that doesn't cut it when you spent your time and money on a result that was unpleasant.

I went in to get some Gel X nails done . The lady was so incredibly kind , I enjoyed her as a…read moreperson but as my nail tech I was left pretty disappointed. She was incredibly truthful and admitted to not being able to do what I originally wanted so I changed the look . After a couple minutes I changed it again for something more simple as to not take her out of her comfort zone . The first red flag was her just cutting and dehydrating the nail but not doing any cuticle work . For how expensive the place is you'd think they'd clean up the nail before starting . I had to ask to get my cuticles cleaned up . Cool she did them awesome . Stabbed me twice with the cuticle cutters and noticed she hasn't replaced any of the tools she was using from the girl she had just helped before me, this was worrisome because like I said she stabbed me with a tool that she could have been stabbing someone else with leading to infection. I let it go as she was very sweet and I figured maybe she's just a bit tired . She gets to gluing the nails down and they are completely messed up , one nails going to the right while the other is going to the left they just looked a whole mess . I had to ask her to please re do the placement as they looked terrible . We're moving forward alls good , until the drill she's using starts to burn my cuticles more than once ... Now we're putting the color on and everything is going good until an appointment of hers shows up and she starts rushing what she's doing . I'll place a reference picture underneath to show what I wanted and what I got . She did relay that it would not be identical as obviously she's doing someone else's look . The price and the final product just was no where near $95 dollars. The nails on have polish on them yet still look clumpy and the sides are uneven from the filing she did to the sides . My nail was left with a tremendous amount of nail polish around the cuticle because of the airbrush machine she used and the quickness she went to finish for her next guest . Instead of taking the time to clean around the nail she went in very quickly with a brush still leaving a tremendous amount of excess nail polish . I'm not confrontational so I would never ask for a discount or not pay the service I was given with a tip . This review is simply to inform others that if you are planning on doing GelX this may not be the best place for you . To me on my hands they unfortunately look like dollar store press on's that have started growing out . The nail's themselves are not horrendous just not worth the heavy price tag they charge you for them, $95 .I just got the nails done yesterday April 24 and as I left I realized they already looked like they had grown out. Just very dissatisfied with them overall .

My feet feel so smooth and my toenails are once again presentable. The salon is clean, quite spacious and they play great music videos on the television screen for your enjoyment . The pedicure chairs have a massage function and the bath bowls are quite comfy and have two jet massagers - one for each foot. I look forward to coming back. 40 bucks, not bad at all.
