I've been to far too many weddings to count over the years because my husband is a minister. I saw Blake Boyer DJ at a wedding in August 2019, and when leaving the reception, I said to my husband, "That DJ was awesome! I want him to do our daughters' weddings!" Three years (and a global pandemic) later, Blake was the DJ at our oldest daughter's wedding. Blake was incredible! He was able to "read the room" -- choosing songs and making adjustments to ensure all guests had a great time. Blake ensured the planning process went smoothly. He thoughtfully listened to our ideas, questions, and concerns, and we felt comfortable relying on his excellent judgment and instincts when he offered suggestions or recommendations. His ideas were SPOT ON every single time. Dozens of guests came up to us at the end of the night to tell us our DJ was fantastic and that they had an awesome time! Jon Smith is an awesome DJ. We booked Unique Sounds to DJ our April 2015 wedding after they were recommended by our venue (The Villa), reading online reviews, and meeting with Jon in person. Unique Sounds did not disappoint. Their online system for organizing the flow of the wedding and the music selections made it easy to plan our wedding over time. He was easily able to find our song selections that he didn't already have. My fiance and I were also undecided about a couple of song selections (the bridesmaids processional and cake cutting song) and Jon gave us several excellent suggestions. The day of, Jon was awesome at keeping our guests on their feet and dancing. With a smaller wedding (80 people), I was concerned that our dance floor would be empty, but Jon kept it packed the entire time. Jon did my friends wedding this weekend. He was incredible. Great variety and flow and the photo booth was so much fun. Mystic varied from background music during dinner, classics, top 40, and no one can resist a little rockin robin. He got the dance floor going after dinner with dancing around the tables and was always able to pull everyone back out with some Backstreet Boys or Bruno Mars. We hired DJ Gary Lombard for our wedding reception and he was the best DJ we could have hoped for! Everyone had an amazing time at the reception and absolutely loved how he kept the party going! We all had so much fun dancing the night away and the music selection Gary picked really fit the crowd. He did an excellent job keeping us informed of the game plan for the night, and checked in with to make sure we were having a good time and were happy with how things were going. When we were first trying to pick a DJ for the wedding, we knew we were in good hands when we met with the owner, DJ Jon Smith. It was clear that Jon has a great group of DJs working for him, and that they all know how to make an event really fun. We never needed to worry about having to do corny games or activities during the reception, because we knew that Jon and Gary just weren't those type of guys. Gary was able to get every single person up and excited, dancing around the tables, twirling napkins above their heads, having dance-offs - all without us feeling like the situation was forced or inauthentic. My wife and I had the great pleasure of having Jon Smith dj our wedding. We met with about 6 djs before deciding on going with unique sounds. Jon is a great guy and when you sit with him, you will quickly pick up on his passion for his job and music in general. I'm not going to lie, I was a little worried weeks leading up to the wedding, but we sat with Jon a couple days before and he put our anxiety to rest. He event put together a great Mix for our entrance song.... The day of the wedding.... Jon killed it... we did have a great group of friends and family who we knew would be on the dance floor so that was no problem. Jon checked with us before playing anyone else's requests. There were a couple songs we wanted played, if Jon didn't have it, he downloaded it right then.... I have used Unique sounds twice, for my son's and then my daughter's Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. They did a fabulous job keeping the kids as well as the adults up and dancing - : ). They are really easy to work with and know how to make the event a memorable one. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because at my daughter's event the 'Hora/Hava Nagelah' was not played and this is THE ONE song that is a must at a Jewish event. We had our wedding this past Sunday and we had Alex as our DJ. He was incredible!! Our wedding was small, only about 50 people, and we were a little nervous there wouldn't be much dancing. That was certainly not the case, Alex played the perfect mix of music for the crowd we had and the dance floor was full the entire night. We hired Unique Sounds for our wedding in Sept 2014. They were excellent! Very professional and responsive. We were unable to meet with them at their offices, so they set up a video chat and we had several of those meetings before our actual wedding. Chris was our DJ and he did a superb job playing the appropriate music at the appropriate times. He really got the party going! And he didn't make the event about him, wasn't trying to get attention for himself. I also really liked the website they had where you could choose music that you wanted to play or definitely didn't want to play. Jon was extremely organized and on top of everything throughout the entire process. From the initial proposal, to the easy to use online wedding planning tool, to the actual day of, everything went very smoothly! The online tool allowed us to plan our music choices beforehand and helped us understand the flow and process of the day. Jon reviewed everything with my husband and I beforehand and made sure everything went seamlessly.
