I highly recommend this dance studio. My daughter has been coming here for five years now and her dance skills, confidence, and poise has grown tremendously. Ms. Chelsea is the instructor/choreographer and her mother Ms. Lethia runs the office. Ms. Chelsea is an extremely talented dancer and instructor and teaches with kindness and compassion. Through this studio my daughter has performed at numerous venues over the years, including at Universal Studios. This is not a competition studio, it is focused on fundamentals and performing, which I like. I'm very happy with this studio and highly recommend it, but what's most important is that my daughter loves it here, which she absolutely does. read more

This is my sons second season here, he loves Ms Chelsea! She's super patient, knowledgeable, and firm with the kids.. (in a good way) .. I love her teaching style. My son is a little hyper, but the dance classes are helping him calm down. I recommend this dance studio to anyone who would like their kids to Excel in dance! I like my son to be well rounded in all aspects in life, and I was very pleased with how he is being treated as being the only boy in ballet at the moment. Ms. Chelsea was great at helping him since boys ballet style is a little different. He feels more than comfortable here, so if you have a boy interested in dance this is a great place! I didn't want to have to write a negative review for this company, but alas, here we are. When I first caught wind that our beloved dance studio was closing due to the heartbreaking passing of it's owner I began to put out feelers to various studios in town. Unique Visions Dance Company was one of the first to respond and we scheduled a trial class for the upcoming Thursday. The employee I spoke to was very upfront about their more strict policies, dress code, etc.., which didn't bother me much. Because of their policy about younger siblings not being a distraction, I made arrangements for my one year old to be cared for during the trial as well as any future classes. Thursday arrives and I get a feeling that my child is keeping up well and picking the movements up fairly easy for it being her first day here. After the class they made it known to me that she wasn't skilled enough to remain in this class and suggested she go to their Tuesday Intro class. Okay fine. I accept and get advise on purchasing leotards that are compliant with their dress code. I also learned that I will be required to buy all of the dance shoes and tights from their location. Arrangements were made for us to come in during the Monday class to make all necessary payments and purchases and to get measured for the showcase costume. It just so happened that two other dancers from our previous studio were there doing their trial class. This excited me and I was hopeful they would all be placed into a class together again. It was only later that evening that I learned they had a bad experience and wound up in a heated exchange over a review left on the studios social media page. DESPITE this, I chose to remain neutral and base my opinion on our own experiences. Tuesday comes and my daughter is talking non-stop about how excited she is for her class that evening. Unfortunately, class was cancelled due to the teacher being ill. Total bummer but, obviously, understandable. I send my well wishes in response and move on with the day. Wednesday morning I received an e-mail that in one fell swoop says that they actually can't get the showcase costume ordered and that I should consider taking my child out of the class. She was quick to offer a refund for everything I had made payments for on Monday. I replied that we weren't worried about the showcase and that my child would just like to take the class only to get a long-winded NO in return. *sigh* Okay, so I made arrangements to return the items for a full refund that evening. I arrive at the time I stated and I am greeted with a slightly cold and rather unapologetic employee who seemed eager to get me back out the door. As I was preparing to leave she suggested a local studio because, like our previous studio, they "offered classes for kids who aren't at their level". I was both shocked and offended by this comment but I remained friendly and made my exit. Later on I learned that they had told people that they will not be accepting dancers from our previous studio so I'm left believing that they CHOSE to drop my child because of her association with the studio. You know what? I'm upset that my child got screwed over but I'm also relieved that I won't have to be tied to that "company". It turned out to be a blessing in disguise which is truly a shame as I really wanted that place to work for my child. Let me add that when we were in on Monday, they had me signing forms and making payments PRIOR to any check for the costume availability for the showcase. There was NEVER an inkling that it would be an issue had the costume not been available. Had that been the case, they surely would have checked for the availability before allowing me to sign and purchase anything. So that is not a valid excuse for dropping my child. read more

Love this dance studio! My daughter is in her second year with Chelsea and Lethia and I couldn't tell you how much she loves it. Yes they are very strict and they have rules but they let you know upfront how they run this school and it's for very good reason. Plus they have been so encouraging to my daughter who had a major meltdown last year before the showcase from stage fright in combination with the medication she was taking for adhd. They are great great great and I love how strict they are. It benefits my child. read more

This is my daughters second year as a student at Unique Visions Dance Company and she absolutely loves it. Teacher Chelsea is great with the kids - she is patient, kind and firm. As a heads up, this dance studio is a bit more disciplined and do have strict rules so be prepared - it may not be everybody's cup of tea. I enjoy coming here because I know my daughter is getting great instruction from someone who is truly passionate about her craft and when you have someone passionate and disciplined leading and guiding your child - the result is phenomenal. I can't believe the way the instructor/owner and her very self centered assistant treat the children and parents at this fake wanna be "dance studio"! The Owner (I would call her a lady but she definitely is not one) of this place promotes "obedience and discipline" yeah right! What she teaches the children is fear, low self esteem and self doubt. The students and some of the parents are terrified of these people. They show no patience for the students and have all these rules that are ridiculous for any 4 year old to follow...these are small children! If you love your children do not take them here!!! Why on earth would you pay someone to mistreat you and your kids! Instructors like this should not be allowed to even be near children. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! This school disappointed me. They discriminated my 6 year old daughter because She has a disability. When the season started they accepted my daughter and She was very happy in class, but when preparations began for the annual presentation they said me they would not allow my daughter to participate for her condition. I was very upset because the ballet was a strong motivation for my girl. I decided to stop the classes and look for a better and human School. They are very rude, the assistant is very impolite. Very bad experience at this school. Teacher and assistant both do not have the skills to communicate with little children. They were very rude, I made the biggest mistake by taking my child there. Not family friendly! We tried one class and my daughter left saying how mean the teacher was. The teacher also told me I couldn't stand and watch the class because it was too distracting. I was told my 2 year old son wasn't welcome into the studio, if we came back, and I'd need to sit in the car with him. She prides herself on discipline but little girls need to learn to love dance, have fun, and gain self confidence. This teacher just wants little robots she has complete control of. Great Place! My daughter has attended Unique Visions for the last 4 years. We came from another dance school after I realized my daughter was not learning proper dance technique. We found Unique visions and have loved it ever since the first day we started. I have even had my other girls take dance lessons as well. They love going to every practice and really enjoy the showcase in the summer. My family all love attending the end of the year showcase to see how my children have advanced over the years. The showcases are beautifully done and all the young children show great talent and love for dance. The owner is very professional and my girls just adore her. Her and her staff answer any and all questions that I have had over the years. Awful!! The front desk lady spoke to me like i was a child making assumptions about my children and family while speaking at me, yes at me! I went in to inquire about their classes but was treated so poorly. This place is very unprofessional and disrespectful to say the least. Please, do not consider enrolling your child here! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The owner/dance instructor and her assistant who will stare at you through the window the entire time are obviously related having the same last names and lack of professionalism. My 3 year old daughter was expelled from the class after a month, this was a total shock. I was accused of being disruptive, grouping with other parents, talking negatively about the facility in front of my child, and much more. If you're on this site, you obviously read reviews but please take them to heart. I read the reviews but went against my better judgment and gave this place a chance, it was a BAD decision causing me to be mistreated and belittled as an adult. The dance instructor/owner has no empathy for kids and certainly does not know how to communicate with parents-besides handing you copies of her policies, she'll even write your name on it like a child so you are "forewarned." She's actually keeping a paper trail so she can kick you out if she thinks you're talking about her when you're actually whispering to your husband about your daughter. I have never been in such an atmosphere where parents are more intimidated by a dance instructor than their child. If you disregard this review, you will be paying to have a paranoid control freak watch over you than teaching your child. This is by far the best studio in the Valley!! My daughter has danced here since the age of 3.. She just turned 6 and she just made the competition team.. We have truly been blessed finding UVDC!! We have watched her blossom and grow! Performing on stage in front of hundreds of eyes at the age of 3 is not an easy thing to do.. I myself could not do it now! Lol!! Thank you Miss Chelsea for all your hard work, patience and dedication to my baby!! Miss Lethia.. Thank you for always keeping this crazy dance mom compliant and on track!! We LOVE you dearly! Extremely bad experience the instructor and the assistant is extremely rude and have poor communication skills and they have no respect for the kids and the parents they asked me to leave because my son was being to loud and he's only a year in a half! I would never allow my daughter to attend this place it's embarrassing the way they act they are unprofessional and run the place with a bunch of rules it's so bad!! The assistant threw in my face that her husband is a police officer and she would call him if I didn't leave she should be embarrassed and ashamed to allow that to come out her mouth that' she is using her husband to intermediate people.. I love this place. Both of my daughters come here and Ms. chelsea is great with both of them. Ms. Lithea always answers all of questions and concerns and they both have made the 2 years Ive been with them very pleasant. Yes they are strict with some things, but i like this because It keeps everyone in line and pleasant for everyone. There rules are very simple to abide by. My daughter learned dance a this studio for more than 5 years. I don't like the studio for a lot of things just as others mentioned: the assitant (Lethia) is rude, disrespect to parents, not professional, not friendly..and there are too many policies just make convenience for them, not the dancers and parents... You pay money to get treated so bad...However, I have to give credit to the instructior, Miss Chelsea. She has passion in dance and teaches the children very well and really make them advance, eventhough sometimes she is kind of rude to them and even not polite to parents. I don't really enjoy to be treated disrespectful but it's a trade off for her talent. I wish the services at the studio be different and they can take these comments and think about changing how they serve their cutomers who constitute big to their business. read more

Like most negative comments, I concur. From customer service to treating students and relationship is worst. This company is teaching ages from around 5 to teens. I have a kid who was enrolled here. At first, I understand that they are training kids to be responsible and disciplined and learn to dance but as we go on with the program it doesn't look good anymore. They are expecting kids to be picking up quickly and knows what to do instantly and if the teacher did not get what she expects you're kid will be treated as crap as per one comment-er here said and I agree. Remember they are just kids not some NAVY recruit, they suppose to have fun, enjoy and learn to dance. We understand that teacher wants to be a good dancers but don't expect them to be professional right away. Some kids have different level of understanding. They are suppose to go to parents if they have problem with the kids or the parents but instead you get a stare and follows you up to the parking lot and watch until you leave. I cant be thankful enough to be part of the UVDC family! Ms Chelsea and Ms Lethia are so easy to communicate with and I can't express how much I appreciate their friendly reminders and the rules that are set in the class to keep the kids disciplined! I enjoy the fact that they are always up for community events its an amazing thing to be able to support local establishments as well as have this one supported back so much! Im thankful they always work around all of our schedules to accommodate us in any way they can! To top it off they participate in Disneyland's Dance the Magic show and to be a part of it is truly a dream come true and an experience most will never be able to say they had! Love the knowledge and background Ms Chelsea has under her belt as well as Ms Lethia's since she has been through dance and was once in our shoes and knows what we go through at times and is always there when we need her and get prompt responses when you are unsure about anything (but everything is already organized in detail in your handbook incuding cut off dates and fees)! The worst dance studio I have ever seen very unprofessional both mom and daughter... they have the worst costumer service I have experience to tell you I have had better costumer service going to Walmart and .99 cent store than here they both have the worst attitude for kids and parents... they even get upset for just whispering with other parents ...
