He was always good about answering any questions I had, and only brought something to my attention if I needed to know about it or if there was an important question, which was great after dealing with some handymen who created more problems in our house than solutions. We only needed a wall (6ft wide, 8ft tall) removed from our home, because it separated our dining area from our living room. We were turned down by several contractors, saying it was not a big enough project for them, so it wouldn't be worth their time to come out. Somebody suggested we go with a non-licensed contractor, because no licensed contractor would be willing to do a project this small. Even though there were no Yelp reviews for SDOV, the photos looked nice, and they replied quickly to offer a free estimate. They came by to see if the wall might be load bearing, which it was, and emailed me an estimate, which was around what we were expecting to pay. A non-licensed contractor offered a cheaper price, but we were happy to pay a little more for licensed contractors. They removed the wall, installed a supporting beam, patched up the wall and ceiling, replaced the luxury vinyl plank floors, and patched up the baseboards in one day! We had Allied Contracting install an Ella's Bubble walk-in tub, pocket doors on both our bathrooms,…read moreand attic access in our hallway. We could not be happier with the final result and we felt the cost of these task were quite reasonable. Ella's bubbles of New Jersey referred us to Allied Construction, saying they had worked with them before. John came out before we ordered the tub to scout the job. I ordered a tub without realizing that it was too large to fit through the door opening of the bathroom, and did not discover this until after it was delivered. Also, the drain and water supply on the tub were on the wrong side due to the location of the tub door and the toilet. John did not waver and said they would figure it out. Figure it out they did! They tore out the entire wall and vanity to get the very large tub in there. Carlos, the plumber who works for John, is a magician and did a beautiful job of rerouting the drainage and water supply and installing the tub with no room to speak of to work. I was really afraid at point that they would say this job was impossible! Carlos never gave up and in the end the installation was beautiful and the operation perfect! Since the bathroom wall was gone, John suggested we install a pocket door to replace the old 28 inch bathroom entry door that swung into the bathroom taking up valuable space. David and his brother Mr. E came in and installed the pocket door and re-did the electrical to move the light switch from the pocket door wall, wired up a new lighted medicine cabinet and did all the electrical and trim for the new tub. They did a magnificent job with all the electrical and trim. The bathroom is beautiful and looks new! We loved the pocket door and lighted medicine cabinet so much, we asked John to come back and do the same treatment to the master bathroom. We also wanted attic access added to our hallway, so that no one had to access through my wife's closet in the future. David and Mr. E came back along with David's son Randy and accomplished all these requests in 4 days! The prep work in our bedroom was really stepped up, with a lot of care as not to harm our bedroom furniture in any way! The results of the work were just as beautiful as the other job! The attic access is a pull down ladder in the hallway. David added a light and light switch up there and a large plywood platform for tools or storage. It turn out really cool! It was very unique to have a literal family of workers working on our house. They made us feel like part of their family while they were here! Their prep and clean up work was impeccable. John, the owner of Allied Construction is super laid back and very easy to work with hearing our plans and enhancing them further. We consider him to be a friend now and would not hesitate to have him and Allied do other projects for us in the future. After estimation and checking the quality of the materials I did my choice - I have bought an Italian kitchen from BKT Loft and I have never regret of it. It was the best choice I could made at that point. They do initial measuring, creating design, selecting the materials together with the client, delivery, demolition, installation, testing - the whole specter. I was working with Andrey who has a big experience (20+ years) and really understands what he is talking about. After measuring my kitchen, he came up with a design and a set of materials as well as appliances. The design was much better than I had imagined with good improvements and useful hints. The installation process was quick and accurate. He did it as if he did it for himself - thorough measurement, meticulous setting up, and strong fixing - I liked his job and engineering approach. He cleaned up the installation area and left my kitchen nice and shiny. The whole process took about a week, from demolition till final touches, and this time includes countertop making and installation (that was done by the third-party company - and done great) as well as appliances installation and testing. I am profoundly convinced that the materials BKT Loft provides are the best on the San Diego market. The cabinets look great and easy to clean. They are not afraid of humidity, fat, water, steam, you name it. The handles are amazing as well as mechanisms for cabinets - simply are the best I have seen.
