I especially loved the sensory toy shelves. Price points were about what I expected. Some smaller items for $3-$6, like mystery squishes and sensory toys. A lot of what we looked at was closer to the $8-$15 range, but there is plenty of $20+ items, with some large pieces that were more like $50. So I think you can find something for most budgets, albeit small things on the lower end. The staff we spoke to were efficient and friendly, and check out was a breeze! They do gift wrap at the counter, too, which is fantastic for buying gifts! I'm not sure if that's complimentary or not, though. Also nice for littles and grown ups of--there's a public bathroom with a changing table in case you need it! We easily spent half an hour exploring and walked out with two small toys for less than $10. Happy to support this local shop! It's well worth a visit next time you're on Mass Ave.

Alas, life changes and I don't really frequent this corner anymore with Marsh long gone and PetsMart no longer having as many live animals as they once had. While I'm not exactly a crafty person, I've seemingly always found something I like at Michaels. It's also always been a prime option for me when I've needed something framed. I'm not a fan of Hobby Lobby for a variety of reasons - so, on those rare occasions I need something in the craft arena this tends to be where I go. I'd been looking for an affordable Christmas wreath along with a couple basic decorations. I saw the Michaels Black Friday ad and decided to stop by after church today. This location has accessible parking, though it's not ADA (there's no actual signage). There's an appropriate curb cut and automatic doors. As is nearly always true for craft stores, the aisles tend to be a bit difficult for wheelchair users. I do like that they have the shorter carts. Store personnel tended to be friendly and I will say that craft-oriented shoppers tend to be friendlier than the "cut in front of me and you'll die" shoppers at your usual big box retailers. Michaels was definitely decked out for Christmas and it really dominated the store. They have pretty much all self-serve kiosks for check-out these days - I like that they have big screens (let's face it, Michaels has a high number of older shoppers). I didn't find everything I'd hoped to find at Michaels, though I did find a couple great items at great prices. Check out was quick and the rep was super helpful. Heck, I even signed up for the rewards club (3% back on all purchases, 6% once you hit $300). They also can look up your receipts if you need to make a return - great for folks like me who tend to lose receipts. Michaels has classes, events, and they still have a great selection of frames. They're great for knitting supplies, hobby activities, art supplies, and much more. For Christmas, you can get quite a bit at a wide variety of prices. This was a solid experience. It sure wasn't five star, especially because some of the aisles definitely had some accessibility issues, but it was a very solid four-star and I'd definitely go back. I will note they frequently have items outside their door - in itself wonderful, however, at times they do block the sidewalk in case you're wanting to go to PetsMart next door. I visited with my youngest child, who appreciates cute things. As soon as we approached the storefront, he said, "Whoa. The lighting." He's right: Miniso is lit very brightly! It's like it's own little special place in Castleton Square Mall. Miniso is the place to find adorable plushies, clothings and shoes with characters on them, makeup and beauty products for tweens and teens, keychains that look like cats dressed up as burgers, Japanese snacks, and many other fun gifts. The store is just fun-fun-fun to a power of 10. The Japanese snacks are limited, but what they did have was interesting and unusual. My child wanted a container of rolled cup-style Doritos, which tasted like normal nacho cheese Doritos, but were shaped like crunchy Cheetos. And they were in a cup. So novel! But this is the place to find novel things like this: things you don't need but when you see them, you suddenly want them very badly.

When I walked in, I was greeted by the 2 ladies working. I walked around for a bit to see if I could spot what I needed but they have a lot of cards here so I finally asked someone where the retirement cards where, and she pointed me to the right area. Compared to other events, retirement was a small selection but they had nice cards. I found one that I liked and it was priced at $5.99. I noticed a huge retirement card that was nice and it was priced at $12.99. This was my first time here so I walked around to check out what all they offered. It is Christmas time, so they had a lot of themed items. I came across a section with retirement items and found a really cute mug that I purchased and it was $15.99. I checked out the ornaments and the one I liked said out of stock. I asked the worker how I could get one and she said I could check online, otherwise it's out because Hallmark makes ornaments for the year and next year will be different to make you keep on buying. I found another item that I purchased for a friend whose mom passed away. Her mom loved cardinals and they had a nice section of Cardinal things - I picked the Cardinal ornament. One thing that I couldn't find was anything nurse related, so I was bummed about that. They offer rewards, so I signed u, I love stores that offer rewards! There's a surprising amount of clothing at BoxLunch. I guess I shouldn't say "surprising," because I really had no expectations of what this store would be before stepping inside. But there's a lotta shirts and other clothing here. Also, mini backpacks! Are mini backpacks a thing again? I guess they are, if I should believe the wall of mini backpacks at BoxLunch. It used to be difficult to find Japanese candy and snacks around Indianapolis, but this store is just one of at least two stores at Castleton Square Mall where you can get Japanese goodies. Times are a-changing, and for the better, especially if it means more places to buy shrimp chips and green tea Kit Kat.
