Awful, stole my deposit after I dove an hour only to be called 15 minutes away to say vehicle wasn't road worthy.

Omg.....I couldn't believe the attitude from these people! I went to this establishment to view a vehicle to potentially buy......the salesperson was the most rude individual I had ever met. Having knowledge of the vehicle in question and informing him of that made him very defensive. The vehicle had a safety recall from years earlier and should have been fixed. When I mentioned it he told me it wasn't their responsibility. I informed him that it was with other dealers which then he said....ok then I'll take care of it. He began to ask me what else I knew and I said to him quite a bit about the car and I was there to help my friend with it. He then said.....which I couldn't believe.....well....im not going to talk to you you're not buying the car.....I chuckled out loud! So while I was over looking the vehicle he starts asking my friend all kinds of personal questions about what she drives.....she became uncomfortable. She had wanted to test drive it so he asked for her license and because she was having some difficulty finding it he stated can you hurry I don't have all day......she was shocked. So he walked away and we sat in the car for about 10 minutes waiting for the A/C to work and talked about the whole situation.......we ended up turning the key off and walking away.....I feel really sorry for the owner of this dealership because I don't think with that type of customer service that he's going to sell too many cars...... read more

The owner of United auto sales sold me a Used car which was a Lemon. The Car kept overheating and I would bring it back to him and he would merely clear the codes and send me on my way. I was towed four times before finally refusing to have him "fix it" and I wanted my money back. I bought it from him for $13,000 and he only would agree to give me $9000 back. I only had the car 22 days. But Connecticut lemon law is very convoluted and difficult to pursue. And I needed a car to go to work. I lost a ton of money in the situation and the owner could care less. He's very greedy, only thinks of himself, and I would never deal with him again. I should have heated the review I saw about this United auto company where the lady had a very similar experience. Very frustrating, I hope somebody learns from my experience and doesn't get ripped off like I did. read more

Buyer beware! I just spent 7k of my daughters hard earned and saved money on a car for these folks. It came with 1/2 tank of gas in it. Before it needed a fill up I am 2800.00 in the hole! Coils went, yeah it happens, they go out like a light bulb. As looking at coils found valve cover gasket leaking heavily. It's a VW so there goes 1600.00. That job complete mechanic took for test drive and found rear main seal is leaking like a sieve 1k. Super cool to take an intrusion on my fanny like this!! Find somewhere else to buy your affordable car unless you enjoy fanny intrusion. read more

Back in 2010 Jim at United Auto purchased a 2006 Honda Odyssey at auction for me, which based on my research saved me some money if I had bought a similar car from a dealer. Roll forward to 2018 and we finally replaced the Odyssey. Based on my past experience with United Auto, I had Jim purchase another vehicle for me at auction. Jim was very good about understanding what you're looking for, not only in car features, but the quality of the car you're buying. He went to auctions over 4 weeks until he found the car that fit what I was looking for in terms of quality and price. Before bidding on the car, he will call you to discuss over what he's looking at and send you some pictures of the car (at least he did so with me). So far my experiences with United Auto and Jim have been very good and I feel have saved me some money and hassle from buying in the traditional method. I would suggest driving by the dealership as they just clear codes before selling their cars. They then get you for a "limited warrantee" where they jack up the prices so they can get you on cost on repairing the lemon car they sold you. We bought a car there on Saturday, September 4th2021. The car drove great on the test drive, they had all the safety boxes checked passed. $4000 down payment. This is isn't some $1500 beater. Drive home, and check engine light comes on. We aren't talking days off the lot, we are talking less than an hour. With it being a holiday weekend, we said we would bring it in on Tuesday for them to check on it. I gave them time to make this right. My son brought the car back to them, they said "they are old codes" and reset them, and said "if it turns back on, bring it back and we will take care of you". Guess what happened, codes turned right back on. So they say sure they can fix it, for $250 which is supposedly half the cost of the repair. I call them and ask if they think that is the right thing to do being that the issue came up within an hour of leaving the dealership. Which they say the cars are all as-is and they gave us that limited 50% discount warranty as a courtesy. Um no, we walked by each car that was listed as as-is. If they are selling crap cars, they should not be checking off all the boxes as passed. They were upset that I called them out for turning the codes off, just as they did when my son brought the car back to them. So he said, now the warranty is off the table and I can take my business elsewhere. I said, no problem give me my money back and we will go elsewhere. He said that will never happen. Upon driving home, the car stalled out. I have an appointment with my trusted mechanic on Monday to check out the junk that Rodney sold us, and Jim the owner would not make right on the issue. Rodney is a nice guy, but it's a scummy place. I stand by every word I stated in the dealership, I never portrayed myself as a "lady like person". I will make sure to update the review after my mechanic inspects. read more

WARNING! This dealership is a SCAM! I bought a car from these people almost a year ago. I had spent 10,000 dollars on the car. After a couple days it seemed as if something was wrong with it so I asked them to look at. United Auto said no. It turned out the car needed like 3,000 dollars worth of work to make it sound. So I dropped the car off to them anyway and got a lawyer involved because the dealership refused to fix anything or take the car back. United Auto refused to give me my down payment back of 3,000 dollars. And we are still fighting in court to try to get my own money back. And the worst part of all is United Auto already re-sold that car. Scum Bags! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! read more

We felt we got a great deal, they showed us the car fax and took care of a few things that needed to be done to make sure the car was perfect for our daughter.
