Staff is great and attentive. They are always cleaning up. The machines are in great shape. Nice clean gym. I enjoy coming here but bounce around to other PF when I'm looking for certain equipment that they don't have at this particular location.

Worst staff ever so disinterested no one has a personality they look at you like you are some type of idiot meanwhile they're on their phones always away from the desk and smoking outside of the gym so when you walk in the guy behind the desk smells like an ashtray ...!!! just fabulous! Nobody wants to deal with that... There's not enough room in that gym to do any large movement exercise and they have very few free weights it's never enough... I never see any of the staff putting away the free weights that members use and should be putting away themselves but since they don't that's the staff job don't you think? Frequently the spray containers which I doubt even have any kind of solution other than water in them are empty, the paper towel holders are empty... and the foamy hand sanitizer dispensers are empty also ...what are these people doing while they're at work? Also as far as the tanning beds are concerned they don't change out the bulbs and I have been tanning and not getting any color whatsoever for the 12 minutes that I would spend in there ...what a waste of my time!! I guess they're too cheap to get new bulbs on a regular basis. And it's not like they didn't know because I told them that I didn't get any color of these bulbs need to be changed. But did they change them no! I decided to go to crunch fitness in Amityville which is a far superior gym in every single way! It's huge ! There's plenty of space for workouts. Lots of cardio equipment lots of free weights and they have tanning as well as a sauna one each in the locker rooms. they have classes as well It may cost more but it's definitely worth it!!

Then you have tanning and hydro-massage beds. The staff is friendly and helpful and I left my watch in the room and it was returned to me!!! That's a veryyyy big reason I had to write this for the spa staff. The rooms are clean and relaxing and it's so much better than sitting in the steam rooms and saunas with strangers. The gym itself is good because it's 24hrs with lots of space. I had issues with freezing my account. I basically just lost the 6 months and paid for using nothing. I have been a member of Crunch Amityville for years, and unfortunately I've watched the quality of…read morecustomer service decline as management has changed. The current manager, Janine, has consistently been rude, condescending, and disrespectful. One of the biggest issues involved my teenage son. Before bringing him, my husband followed every requirement the gym asked for. He provided his birth certificate, completed all of the required paperwork, and entered his information into their system MORE THAN ONCE. Despite that, every single visit became an interrogation. Janine repeatedly questioned his age in front of other members and ultimately refused to allow him to work out with my husband. It was embarrassing for my son and completely unnecessary. What made my decision to leave even easier was how I was treated during one of the hardest periods of my life. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I underwent a double mastectomy followed by a hysterectomy. My doctors prohibited me from exercising during my recovery. At the time, I had nearly 20 prepaid personal training sessions remaining. Despite my medical situation and documentation, Crunch refused to freeze my account. I lost the sessions I had already paid for. My husband and I both canceled our memberships on the same day. During his cancellation, Janine even wrote "child" as the reason for canceling. That was completely false. We canceled because of the repeated harassment and unprofessional treatment our family experienced every time we came to the gym. On top of the customer service issues, I overheard an employee say that a tanning bed had not been cleaned after a member used it, yet another person was still allowed to use it. The locker rooms were also consistently filthy. Losing the money I had invested in personal training was frustrating, but ultimately it was worth it to never have to deal with this management team again. Janine was never apologetic and never seemed interested in making sure members were happy. While I cancelled my membership I watched her talk down to employees, roll her eyes at members and just really be nasty all around. And it's pretty clear that the staff is not loving her either. She is definitely not an asset and i would put her in the same category as the parking-the absolute worst/awful and makes it not worth going there at all.
