There seems to be a consistent issue here with both members and staff not returning weights and equipment to their proper places. It's incredibly frustrating trying to get a workout in when you're constantly stepping over equipment or searching for weights that should be easy to find. I've been coming here for the past 2-3 weeks, and it's been the same every single visit. What makes it even more disappointing is that it appears to be accepted as the norm. A little more attention to organization and gym etiquette would go a long way toward improving the experience for everyone. read more

I want to share my experience from my visit today . [[HIGHLIGHT]]I arrived at 8 a.m. to use my three day pass I brought my driver License and credit card because I was seriously considering becoming a member if I liked the gym[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. There is rarely soap in the soap dispensers in the bathroom. The dumbbells are unsorted or nowhere to be found. The place is filthy. I go in the am. The gym is always very clean and the classes r good also. The locker room and bathrooms are clean. I haven't used the pool, but the classes seem very popular. There is also a hot tub and sauna.. Not worth whatever they're charging per month, not for this one at least. Dirty, disorganized and every appliance in the men's restroom is broken/destroyed/not filled. Door handles, locks, soap dispensers, and two of the doors were practically falling off when I moved them. Weights all over the place, good selection of machines and majority worked so at least it's something. If you don't care about free weights or the sauna just go somewhere else. read more

My younger brother went to LA Fitness tonight in Lindenhurst and put his bag in a locker with a lock. When he went to his locker to get his bag his lock was cut off and all of his money was stolen. Other locks were broken too. This Gym continues to be managed very poorly. Staff are no shows constantly in the morning causing the gym not to open on time and nothing is ever done about it. You may ask why do I ever go. Reason, I'm grandfathered for a low rate which is the only reason. read more

Nice big gym overall, one of the best LA's. Mostly clean, good workout machines, lot of cardio machines. Nice sauna, basketball court, pool, and to top it off a smoothie cafe inside the gym which is nice. But the dumbbells are a MESS, employees never rerack them. Also there is barely any equipment for the cables. read more

What a dump...(Bay Shore) So many machines are dirty and ripped or "scheduled for service". No one ever wipes off anything. The other day I saw the whirlpool while it was closed without bubbles and the bottom was absolutely disgusting .I had been in there but I will never go again. Lifeguards sit looking at their phone the entire time. The bathroom smells like crap (shit) all the time! Showers are absolutely disgusting...Then after being told my membership covered racquetball, and spending over $300 on equipment, I was told I could not play under my membership. I had checked with them twice before I bought the equipment which I have no use for now. Then I was treated rudely (after multiple phone calls without a response ) when I questioned their reasons. I moved to the Y, great service, great facility, definitely worth a very few extra dollars. No racquetball (so I WASTED $325 thanks to LA Fitness) But they do have pickleball, basketball and volleyball.I would NEVER recommend LA Fitness to ANYONE!!!! And if you go , don't trust the lies they tell you when you're signing up!!!!! Actually blown away that they have not been shut down by the board of health...... read more

Seems that every time I'm at the gym there's something broken or missing. Today all the pins for the machines were missing. When asked they're response was they were all stolen, they were on order but won't be here till the following week. I don't understand how a huge company like LA Fitness can't order them for next day air delivery. So remembers can't workout on the machines till the pins arrive next week. The other issue is the women's locker room smells like a wet mop, just makes you wonder how badly this place is managed. read more

I walk in and I notice that this has a completely different look to it. Not sure if theyre still renovating more? But they definitely updated. They have Astroturf in the middle of the gym where you can workout, they have tires you can flip over. It's pretty cool and different. It's the first time I've ever seen that in any LA gym. They do have a sauna which was a decent size. Their locker room/bathroom isn't updated, like newer ones I've seen. They do have a smoothie bar as well, which is a positive because some of them don't. I would recommend this for a gym. Aside of other many LA's I've been to, surprisingly this one isn't bad. read more

I just want to say the customer service at this gym is outstanding. I'm a San Diego resident just in town visiting my family. Shane Curti, the team you have working there is phenomenal. Also, big plus make sure to check out the body builder protein shake. I was able to get everything that I normally add (amino acid, multivitamins, creatine, whey protein, and glutamine) like I do back home. It's freaky delicious. read more

Very friendly staff! The place is neat and the pool is clean!(bonus) the sauna room os by far the cleanest that I've been to in quite some time. I like that there is a great smoothie bar with people who know what they're making. They know know just what you need to either replenish your body or start your workout correctly! I am a senior citizen and NOT a Silver Sneakers member. I only swim laps at this pool and recently noticed problems with the pool and locker room/showers since they have water aerobics classes. I tried the classes but my knees can't handle the jogging, jumping and other exercises in the routines. They have great instructors but it gets too crowded. The water gets very cloudy and they sometimes don't have a lifeguard. Any complaints fall on deaf ears. I now do not use the pool on days they have these classes. This place is not run with any care for its members. I live so close that I just don't want to travel to swim elsewhere so I put up with the down days. I do get my own lane to swim and gave it an extra star for this but this is probably the dirtiest pool I have used in my life. read more

This establishment needs a reboot of workers on top of machines always needing repairs, pins missing, equipment missing etc... After my wife and I checked in for our workout. An old woman who works there came looking for my wife into the locker room and asked her if she was the person she thought. After my wife said yes she said pay your bill or leave. I didn't know it was LA fitness policy to follow your customers into the locker room and harass them. We have been paying customers for 2 years. Our accounts are linked together and come out of the same account. So if my account is okay how is that hers is not? Anyway after an argument and this worker cursing at my wife, we got to speak to Rich the manager. He said yes it is policy for LA fitness workers to follow you into a locker room and ask you to leave if your bill isn't paid. My question is isn't the worker supposed to be seated at the front checking memberships as they come in so something like this doesn't happen? It seems like she didn't do her job and then proceeded to harass a customer. Don't buy a membership to this gym. You will not be treated with respect and god forbid you owe money. There's a better way to go about this and apparently the current people who work there don't have a clue. read more

From the outside it looks nice, but the inside is a COMPLETE disappointment. The management does not care at all about keeping the gym nice. The weights are always a mess, the cleaning women just walk around and stare at you, they barely clean. The sinks in the women's bathroom literally have mold growing on the faucet top and the soap dispenser for one of the sinks has not had soap refilled in it in over 3 months. The broken machines do not get fixed, they just get a sign put on saying that it will get fixed, but it never actually does. The equipment is also always dirty, none of the workers care to walk around and fix something if it is out of place. read more

I left that area recently. But I specifically want to mention that the management team and personally Operational Manager Rich is awesome in that facility. He helped me a lot with the subscription transfer. With all the bureaucracy and "shallow water" during leaving one state and keeping my subscription active in Texas. And overall the gym is nice. I see a lot of complaints, but I personally did not see any problems with cleanliness or dirt being everywhere. They polish everything every day. The swimming pool is being cleaned recently after closing it for a couple of weeks. So I am totally happy with the level of service and quality of work from the Management Team. If you have any problems or complex questions, please, before complaining, just contact Rich. He is the best professional I have ever seen in the fitness sphere. read more

One thing about this gym that really grinds my gears, is that all of the soap dispensers are extremely watered down. It feels like pure water and doesn't even suds up. How am I supposed to wash the MRSA off my hands??? I'd say 4/10 times you use the restroom there will be paper towels available. Love the manager here and the gym is clean! Disinfectant sprays & hand sanitizers around the gym for use and taking temperature at the door.

Since the remodel, this gym has become even more popular than it was. The staff is all welcoming and cooperative with members! They are also working on fixing equipment and keeping everything excellent. Rich and Shane are the best managers, this is the nicest LA Fitness on Long Island :) read more
