It's not very often that I need dry ice, but a day came where I needed some and walked right over. I got 5lbs of dry ice for 12 dollars within 3 minutes of being there. Two years in a row now that this company has left me in the lurch hosting a party with no ice. As with last year I called and ordered 40 pounds of ice a week in advance. As with last year I called and confirmed with them the day before - and as with last year - the day of the event they are a no show. Two years in a row! Last year I called and they apologized. This year I didn't even bother calling them, and they didn't even respond. What a lousy company. Don't bother using them. You will be sorely disappointed. Ordering over the phone with these people was an unpleasant experience. The man I spoke to was so incredibly rude I couldn't continue with the order. I hung up and walked to a 7-11 and bought 6 bags of ice. Carrying bags of ice home, with my arms aching, was preferable to dealing with that company a moment longer. Dry ice ice baby! All right stop, collaborate and listen. This is one of the few spots to score some of that ahhhmazing co2 ice in manhattan. It is a tiny lil shop selling a solo product. The 2 men running biznas were super kewl, cute and easy going. They made the transaction ez by giving me a nice discount. $20 for 14lbs. Ok, I'll take it. Never had to buy dry ice before so I really didnt know what, how much to get but that amount was just enuf to transport my deceased baby several hrs upstate and even with 2 unrefrigerated nights in the cool garage. Btw my baby was a cat you sicko's. An awesome one. Bottom line, this place is great with super customer service(one guy even asked me if I was doing ok with the death of my kitty-thanks dude Im dealing), convenience, theres a good halal cart outside, strip club down the street. United City Ice Cube was my go-to for frozen carbon dioxide (dry ice) when I worked in Manhattan. I usually buy two ten pound cubes to transport 12 frozen Junior's Cheesecakes to Asia. The two ten pounds of dry ice last not only for the entire flight from JFK to HKG (15.5 hours), but a ten hour stopover in HKG, another 90 minute flight to TPE, and another hour ride from TPE airport to where I was living. Cash only. Call beforehand and let them know you're coming! Bring a large backpack to carry the stuff if you're going on the train. I carried it with the plastic bags they gave me once - too heavy for an hour train ride. read more

Placing the order was a bit odd via telephone and I didn't receive an email confirmation. I was mildly concerned by this but when I called on Saturday morning everything was confirmed. Needed some dry ice to keep an ice cream cake cold on public transport and a birthday venue without a freezer. So I tracked this place from online reviews and strolled in shortly before closing the day before. The guy in the shop took the time to talk me through the whole plan, explaining what I should do to keep the ice cold overnight if it wouldn't fit in my freezer. A no-frills review for a no-frills business. Minimum amount of dry ice you can buy is 5 lbs for $10, cash. This is enough for me to transport 4 pints of homemade ice cream for several hours, which is the only reason I ever come here. They also sell styrofoam coolers. Love this place. If you go really early all of the employees are outside messing around with each other. Very old school vibe. But the products are great. Big bags of ice if you're having a BBQ, little bags if you need ice for a cooler and dry ice that comes in two forms. And everything is really cheap. It's worth going there instead of your local corner store because of the quantity of ice you can get for the price. NOT A PLACE FOR NIGHT TIME ICE NEEDS, they close around 6ish. read more

I had a party and this guys answered all my questions and gave me tips on how to get the most for my buck!!! They also sell dry ice which i great to create smoke effects they even have instruction depending on what type of effect you want. Quirky. Service was fun and easy. 5lbs minimum $2 a pound. Simple easy. Dry ice was great and they offered a thick paper bag for transport although definitely bring a backpack.
