They're just a good ol', old school NYC company. Good service. Very "real people" oriented. Not bougie. Good on the phone.

Easy peasy. Incredibly responsive on the phone. $10 for 5 lbs of dry ice pellets - they also have blocks.

Easy to order and deliver. Used it for just 10 pounds of dry ice and it was a very smooth process from call to delivery. ok

We brought cooked/frozen Samoan food for our PA family (IYKYK), and I was worried because our NY hotel did not have a restaurant/freezer space for us to use. Checked Yelp and Armato Ice & Firewood Co. popped up. I messages the number at 8pm, and Tony responded within 15min. I explained the situation, and he apologized because he said my order was too small for a delivery (I only needed 5lbs), so I would have to pick up dry ice from their shop on E 88th Street. Cool, no problem. Next morning, 8:30 am, i went to business address to pick up 5lbs, and called Tony but he was stuck in rush hour traffic for another hour. He graciously offered to drop off dry ice to my hotel before noon, during their normal deliveries. Even though it was a small order, he understood my situation and cared enough to help me keep my food frozen for the next few days, so my PA family can enjoy authentic Samoan food. Thank you for your help, Tony! Your kindness and efficiency shows that the Aloha spirit exists in New York! Mahalo

Places like Rite Aid in my building started stocking up on ice. This company is on notice 24 hours and will deliver it to your home or business. This morning the very friendly employees were loading the freezer in my neighborhood. These are well stocked for the delivery men to pick up the ice for delivery when you need ice. I'm telling you that if you have a picnic or big celebration you will have plenty of ice and it's delivered to your door. I'm recommending!

My father also went…read morefishing and also stopped at this ice place to fill up his coolers so he could sell to the folks in the neighborhood. We never got our ice from a supermarket...ever. I looked forward to the trips to the ice man. Cuz he also sold soda. Anyway M and M and I were walking from Gladys' and I see this ice place!! Memories flooded my brain. I fell into a time warp. I saw a bunch of young black guys hanging outside and I immediately knew that this was the place. I walk over and I start to interrogate all of them. "Wasn't this place on the left side of the street? Wasn't there an old black man that worked here?" My friends thought I was crazy. But these dudes confirmed that I wasn't. This was the place. Yes it moved from Bergen to St Marks. Unfortunately the owner died but I got to meet his son Me-Roc. He owns it now. And he's knowledgeable. Super knowledgeable about, of all things, ice. I had no idea about the "lucratvity" of the ice business. For instance did you ya know that dry ice is used for all kinds of shit: Tibetan funerals, specialty drinks, and pest control (wtf?). I literally witnessed their patient consultative approach to selling ice to a woman who was in there to buy dry ice. I'm pictured here with Me-Roc. I want him to be my new friend. So glad I reconnected. This is a neighborhood treasure. Need ice? Go here.
