Owning a firearm has been on my to-do list, however self training isnt always practical. I have been to a shooting range, but was never really taught proper form. I have also been very interested in classes such as combat training & close encounter defense tactics. Here, they teach it all. Form, rules, regulations, expectations, practice, self defense, familiarity, mental awareness, & practical experiences. Both my brother & I have been here about 2 months now & its been a great experience all around. Booking is pretty easy. & I love the fact that we can go at our own pace. Updating my Review .. as per the Business owners reply.. The business owner responded with flat out lies about the nature of the issue. I have never threatened bad reviews.. In fact I almost never give a bad review.. this is the very first review I have ever done on Yelp. The business has NOT extended my credits over and over.. The issue of credit extension was raised only when my original contract ended, and they told me that $49/mo alumni would preserve my unused credits. . The issue has arisen presently to this review on yelp because when I went to use the credits I and to my shock I find they are not there. I asked them to restore them and they thus have refused.. only agreeing to give me 60 days to use six months back alumni credits.. The alumni program gives a credit every month.. This is not restoring my credits from the prior program that I was promised the alumni would preserve. Nor is 60 days a reasonable time to use the few credits they are granting.. given the difficulties with scheduling oversold classes. I understand the business owner saying a credits can't be extended indefinitely IF there wasn't some form of consideration, which is what I was led to believe the alumni subscription was providing at $49/mo. Since I started that alumni program they have collected over an additional $1000 without extending the credits as promised. Why this is so hard for them to simply extend the credits I paid for is beyond me.. Perhaps they have scammed so many people that if they begin to accommodate, the dam will break. The scheduling is a REAL problem.. I presume it's because they have OVERSOLD the program and that makes getting into classes very difficult and perhaps that may have been by design.. knowing they would expire out those credits and just keep the customers money without providing service. All I want from this business is to honor what they promised.. It's really not that big of accommodation being requested.. go figure. read more

Update: so funny look at their reply - trying so hard to explain their policy, but ignoring what I was offered is a paid trial and they keep charging me even if I canceled. it is a FRAUD, Check their BBB, it is a F score. I was promised a $179 per month "flexible" trial, this is specifically given that I can cancel before the trail ends and not bind to their one year membership but it was a total lie. Classes are impossible to book and the schedule is a joke. The worst part? I officially cancelled on Feb 11 and got a written confirmation saying "no further payments will occur." Today, they ILLEGALLY charged my card $200 anyway! This is straight-up fraud. They lure you in with "flexibility" and then rob you even after you quit. Save your money and stay away. What an important business! Makes me happy to see that they're expanding, as I believe proper firearm training is so important!! (Specially Now, having gone through a year with UDT) The membership is definitely an investment that for some may not be affordable, but my husband and I find the value and our time spent to be well worth it! Met their rep at a gun show, June 2026. He had a booth in the entrance to the show. He hit me up as I walked by. He explained his company would provide legal advice for what and what not to say after a firearm-related critical incident. He provided no explanation of the legal training or expertise of the instructor(s) who will be giving the legal advice, nor did he tell me whether or not his company's expert(s) would testify on my behalf after receipt of their training, if I followed their advice. He handed me what I thought was an information packet. I said (honestly) that I would check it out on line after the show. He then said I would need to provide my personal and contact info there at the show, and he would immediately email a time and date for the training, no option to check it out and contact them later. When I said "no thanks," and handed the packet back to him, he said words to the effect that I would just be another idiot gun owner who does not know how to use a gun, I'll see you in court. I asked him what that meant, he stammered and said they actually would not be there in court but that I still needed their training. I walked away. When I exited the show a while later, he saw me, backpedaled, and attempted to apologize if I misunderstood what he had said. IMO: No misunderstanding. IMO: A big no. read more

I signed up for a free 90 minute training class and so happy that I did. This location is tucked away a bit but it is easy to find and parking is right out front. I checked in with Taylor who is super friendly and welcoming. My class instructor was Jacob. He was informative, patient, and comprehensively answered all my questions. Although he taught defensive tactics and situational awareness, he also emphasized deescalation. In doing so, it was a great reminder to control your emotions when facing a harrowing situation. Other important takeaways I learned are to create space using verbal commands and movement along with assessing different levels of threat. Despite having different pricing plans and payment options for the several services they provide, I did not feel pressured to buy which I very much appreciated. To be clear, I did not purchase a membership and my review is only based on my free training class experience. They also offer other complimentary classes (see photo). Came here for the free training advertised to just try it out. We had no prior firearm experience and the key point of this facility is using simulating real life so you're not just shooting at a target but interacting with possible firearm situations. We each went through a simulation where we were taught deescalation and when to shoot tactics as well as a basic stance/hold. It's perfect for training for a concealed carry and the goal is to develop muscle memory for high stress situations. I was a bit worried about pushiness, but our instructor Marcus saw our experience level and intent and did not push anything on us. He was very respectful and still taught the session to the fullest potential, which was a rewarding experience for someone who never held a gun/ what to learn in an adrenaline high environment. Not a shooting range**, has parking, no real firearms. Expect to go in with laser simulated guns and go through a single scenario each where the instructor debriefs. They have bathrooms and water and you can tour the facility. Overall, a smooth process and I learned a lot! read more

Have been a student for almost 2 years now. We have had training from several different Instructors, all have been very proficient. Some are better communicators than others which is perceived differently I believe by different students based on on their own communications style. Think some Instructors would be upgraded themselves with teaching training.. Our experience with administrative task has just been so so. I got too busy. 3 moths ago I asked them to cancel my subscription. I did everything they told me to do. After retiring I wanted to get back into firearms and was so glad to have found UDT. The instructors are first rate, the simulation training makes it real, there are live fire opportunities, and they helped me qualify for a CCW. Ages of clients vary from very young to senior, and if you are wondering, there are many women involved. I've met couples who joined together and are progressing thru the qualification levels. HORRIBLE company. If I could give them zero I would. They are nice people and great instructors but the administration and contracts are not great. There is a year long contract that is actually 13 payments, check the fine print. There are charges for every small item that are not explained and stated in person. If you want to get out of the contract YOU need to contact them prior to the 30 days in writing otherwise they auto renew. I would never recommend anyone work with them. It is nearly impossible to use their app and determine what class you are scheduled with and which level. They don't move you forward or explain that process it would be up to you to ask for testing, but when I asked they didn't test and just moved me into another class I didn't schedule for. read more

When I joined this program a couple years ago I had just finished doing a Breathwork certification teacher training and wanted to do something that I thought was exactly the opposite of what I just learned. I pick a new trade or skill annually and learn it. This time I chose United Defense Tactical. I was never really into guns or shooting or MMA or anything like that. I'm more into film and music and what not. But after joining and finding myself thinking of perfecting my grip, stance etc, and noticing i was getting quicker, more accurate, and finding myself thinking differently about regular and routine situations, even walking into a room or where I sit at a restaurant, I found that I felt like I had greater and broader awareness of my surroundings, other people, and myself. When I first started I didn't own a firearm and originally hadn't planned to which was cool that it wasn't necessary. So don't let that hold you back from starting this. You will know when the time is right. Ive been really busy so unfortunately haven't been able to go as much as I'd like to but when I do, I get so much out of that hour I'm there. It's a great way to separate yourself from all other areas of life because it requires your entire focus, in detail. Perfect way to start or end your day. All the instructors I've had have been great. They each have their own take on it so it's beneficial to get different classes in with various instructors. Vince makes it fun and helped make the details enjoyable while showing where I needed to improve and focus more. John i originally thought was kind of tough and focused a ton on fundamentals which I'm happy he does. I find that I get a lot out of his classes bc the tone is serious and the attention to surroundings and detail is heavily focused on. Lance is good with connecting to his students and creating exercises that make you think, and can seem like a lot at first but then you surprise yourself with how good you do. Tony is good at pin pointing your weak spots and helping you get better at it. Vince does a great job of this too. Joshua is great too but I haven't taken many classes with him. I remember him slightly adjusting my draw and it helped immensely. These guys are all pros and great to learn from. If you go in with a mindset of being broken down in order to be built back up stronger then you will get so much out of this course. There's a couple other guys that I took classes from that I don't think are there anymore. Again, I haven't been in for a while, but if you're serious about getting more knowledgeable in de escalation, self defense, educated on guns and thinking in a way that makes utilizing your gun education as a last resort, and you want to become more confident in potential real life situations (that do/can happen), then this is your place. I paid over $3,500 and paid for a ""Plus One" because they wouldn't bill them directly, so they billed me. Due to a severe medical condition for my plus one, I called to cancel their membership because they couldn't do anything. They agreed to cancel their membership and then continued to bill me for the next eight months and now they refuse to reverse the charges. They also used a high pressure sales close technique, where they get you very excited about their program and then tell you if you don't sign up that day the price increases dramatically. Absolutely the best place if you want to learn how to defend yourself, the trainer Scott is so professional and guide us through the process, explained everything we need to know as an introductory class. They are giving you a class free if you are willing to commit the class value is $250 per hour per person. A big gift, Im so grateful for that. And they have simulators to help you understand in what case you get to defend yourself, what's legal, and what's not. I got the free introductory class, and was hooked as I want to expand on what I learned from my CCW class. I liked being able to train in a safe environment while learning how to defend my home or PIE a door, or enter and clear a room. I learned a lot during the training drills that had target transitions, I want to thank Josh, he really help me learn the principles of target acquisitions, and how to acquire targets faster. Josh if you see this, thank you for all your help, I took the skills you thought me and applied them in my live fire training. Last month I entered a local steel pistol and rifle match, I won the pistol match with the lowest time of the day and the lowest overall time (match had 3 rounds). It was a very thrilling experience, and the instructor was patient with us. Even though I knew that it was a simulation, my heart was pounding when I was put through the scenario. I was put through the scenario multiple times, and, each time, the instructor told me what I could do differently. I took the trial course with Jeff and he was phenomenal! He went through so many different parts of self defense training and really walked you through every nuance and detail. He showed professionalism and listened very well. I can tell he's a great and patient teacher, not just a great shot. I learned this isn't just a one time class but a year long curriculum and commitment. They train you for 6 months with no live fire to make sure you're ready and I like the mentality and approach. Compared to traditional places that just have a more one and done policy and having people who aren't ready shoot with live fire. They also offer more than just self defense with guns - they offer unarmed combat self defense, Brazilian jii jitsu, conditioning and women's self defense. I also found out that this is a good resource for women interested in self defense with about 50% of members as women. I had a great training session with Tony after signing up online. He is very thorough, and he is a great teacher. They have a very nice curriculum set up and a wide range of classes. Seems like it would be fun. I think it would help if I could do a one-month trial set of classes, maybe like a 10-course punch card to see if it would be a good fit for me. At this time, I don't want to dedicate $2000+ and several hours per month to something that might end up being very boring and tedious after a while. Still, I wanted to leave this review because I thought it was very good. I would have liked the simulator guns to be CO2 guns with SOME recoil as well, seeing as how it is the foundation of their training regimen. This place is a horrible place and here is why. This place in my eyes is a scam. First they told me my son was extremly happy and thought highly of them which is false. Second of all They charged me 5 times and then played it off as only being charged once. I got a text showing we got charged more then once. There word is untrustworthy. Anyone who is thinking about joing becare ful what will happen is that you go in for a free trial they will take you upstaird or another roomand they will ask you questions fishing for answers then depending on what you say they will use that against you. After your trial you will meet with your trainer where you will sit at a table and every 5 minutes these numbers will show up to brain wash you into thinking that if you don't join there program someone is going to get you and the only way to stay alive is shoveling all this money to take one of there classes. After you sign up you will not get a text book but instead an app to sign up for classes they expect you to know this. During classes the teachers seem bored and yawn alot. They will not show you progress but instead hide it from you. Then they will not let you cancel but hold you hostage till you give them all the money thye want even thou you alread paid them everything. YOu learn nothing from class they ripped me off and lied and continue to lie. They should return all our money back. They are thief's. With empty false promises. read more

I was really excited when a couple guys came into my work and told me about a gun safety class and a special they were having. I ended up signing up. I should have never signed up. Before the sales guy even left I was immediately called to schedule an appointment. The moment they had my cell phone number I was receiving multiple text messages from different numbers and phone calls. I had scheduled an appointment for a Saturday. Something had come up and had to reschedule. I know I needed to do it before 24 hours before my appt. I texted a couple of the numbers and no response, so I ended up just calling and rescheduling for this Saturday (19th). They ended up calling me today and apologizing for all the text messages about missing my original appointment and then confirming the new one. I had mentioned to the guy that called me that something had come up with my dog and I had a vet appointment that same day and time. I felt bad but this appointment was about 5 days away. They could easily fill the spot if they needed to. I didn't want to reschedule until I had a chance to check my schedule so I told him I would call him back. He proceeds to tell me that due to their policy they would no longer schedule a weekend. I was only allowed to schedule during the week. I told him that didn't work for my schedule. So now I'm out the 80 bucks I paid. At least is only 80 and not more. I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more
