This is my third time going back to Hands of Hope physical Therapy and Wellness at Whitestone location. I have come here for both shoulders, then neck, and now knees. The staff work together as a team and the care is seamless. I especially appreciate and value the care from Jackie, the bestest physical therapist! She has seen me for all three occasions. Jackie is friendly, knowledgeable, and explains what's causing pain and how PT will decrease pain, strengthen the muscle, and increase mobility. The continuity of care is a game changer. I trust Jackie and know that in time, with hard work, my knees will get stronger, just as my shoulders and neck have gotten stronger. I was told to make a one-time $200 payment to cover future visits, but when I returned, they demanded another $160, claiming it was a "mistake." This could've easily been communicated before I came in, instead of wasting my time. Overall, the office felt disorganized, uncaring, and dishonest. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

The nursing staff on the 4th floor was responsive and the nursing supervisor Chris, in particular, was so kind to my mom. The volunteers, the admissions staff (in particular, Cory) and Ms. Park, the head of Social Services were also really great. I did not have any issues with being able to visit my mom. My mom left there in much better shape than when she entered and I'm so thankful for that result. I can't give 5 stars because I learned after my mom left the facility that they wake up residents at 4am to take blood or other samples if they need lab tests. Apparently the reason for that is to gather samples for when the lab opens. That was the only negative thing my mom had to say about Union Plaza.

She has repeatedly expressed feeling mistreated by staff. We would often find her with a completely full diaper and swollen legs. When we pointed out small, unexplained marks on her body, staff routinely dismissed them as "old skin that bruises easily," showing no curiosity or concern. Most alarmingly, my grandmother has stated multiple times that she is scared of one particular nurse. My mother witnessed this nurse handling her roughly and responding to simple requests for assistance with a clear and unprofessional attitude. Our concerns about this individual were clearly not taken seriously. The situation reached a critical point this week. We last visited on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, and she was fine. When we saw her today, December 6th, she was covered in injuries: a black eye, a busted lip, scratches on her neck and arm, a bump on her head, and widespread bruises. She is complaining of head and wrist pain. This did not happen gradually. The facility's response was utterly unacceptable. No one had reported any incident to us. The on-site manager, Mr. Kumar, claimed to know nothing about it, despite being present over the preceding days. He appeared careless and dismissive of the severity of the situation. We had to forcefully press the issue to even get the name of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assigned to her during this period--the same CNA my grandmother fears, identified as Kimberly "Monique" (last name illegible, as Mr. Kumar only scribbled it). When we insisted on immediate medical attention, the facility prioritized their internal paperwork over my grandmother's well-being, causing a dangerous delay. We ultimately had to call 911 ourselves to get her to the hospital. This is not just "bad care." This represents a systemic failure in supervision, accountability, and basic human dignity. Clear signs of potential neglect and a resident's expressed fear of a staff member were ignored, culminating in a shocking and unexplained physical trauma. BEWARE of this facility. Until they demonstrate a complete overhaul in management, staff training, transparency, and accountability, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone. Our family is now pursuing all available avenues to ensure this is investigated fully. We will update this review as we learn more from medical professionals and authorities.

He referred me to a pain management specialist and he was amazing. He gave treatments that helped with my pain for over a year along with PT unfortunately my body didn't the tolerate as accepted but not as long as it should've. I then after almost two years later we discussed surgery. I was nervous because I never had surgery but his honesty and compassion put me at easy. He explained the steps clearly and told me what to expect when having the full lumber area worked on. From the check outarea Brianna took care of everything for me. Then when surgery was completed and I was admitted for a week every one from Dr. Buza his full PA staff and nurses made me feel so special and made sure I was comfortable in every aspect and discharged with full instruction on handling the worst 2 weeks of pain and discomfort. He sent nurses, OT,PT to my home along with all medical equipment I would need. I felt like a VIP PATIENT and would highly recommend that team especially Dr. Buza. I didn't immediately make an appointment, but I finally went in late Jan. 2025. I went on a Thursday and upon entering I saw a waiting area with people on top of people. Having retired after 50 years in healthcare in various settings, I knew this is not a good sign. I was seen sooner than I expected, but I suspect, it was only to input me into the system. It was a pleasant meeting and the doctor actually DID something. She gave me some trigger point injections! Relief. An MRI was ordered. Totally necessary since I hadn't one in years. In response to my question regarding the crowded waiting room, I was told Thursday is "procedure day" with patients requiring anesthesia needing someone to accompany them. I scheduled my f/u appt on a Friday. And then it began. The Friday I returned the waiting room was not crowded. I was hoping to discuss the MRI results with the doctor. I was told she was not in due to a last minute emergency. Possible, but not probable. The only medical practitioner onsite was the PA and she was overstretched. She discussed options and an epidural injection was scheduled for the next Friday, since I didn't need anesthesia. She recommended a baseline EMG, since I also have diabetic neuropathy. A sound idea, so one was scheduled for today, Thursday. When I expressed my reservations about Thursday, I was told it "was a different line". Arrived today, on time, to a room packed with people. I signed in and took a seat. After waiting an hour past my appointment time, I asked at the front desk how much longer. I was told there were 4 people ahead of me! I said I was told this was a different line. She said "it is". When I asked why I wasn't told there would be such a wait, the receptionist said "you didn't ask"!!!!!!! There are many types of business models for medical offices. Some are based on respect for patients and their time. Others are based on greed. An appointment is an agreement between the patient and the provider. There will always be instances where a patient may need more time. A medical complication or a little hand holding. But this practice only cares about generating income by overbooking time slots, at the expense of their patient's time. I canceled my EMG and my epidural injection. There are too many physicians in the area to be subjected to such treatment. Unfortunately, I never got to see if their treatment would have been beneficial.

And if you don't let them INJECT YOU, they will DISCHARGE YOU AS AS A PATIENT. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU!!! UPDATE: The office (well, the office manager, PATRICIA RODRIGUEZ) called my review INACCURATE despite: (1) Other older reviews that mirror some of my experiences and (2) the proof I'm holding IN MY HAND in letter form. As well as (3) Dr. Sekhur is currently OUT OF THE OFFICE (until at least July 4th) due to a personal emergency; the same emergency that had him leave me on the injections table for TWENTY MINUTES, laying on my side despite having BURSITIS IN MY HIP.
