Tom and Fernando did a truly beautiful job refinishing our flagstone patio deck, fireplace and BBQ. I value the detail and time Tom took to plan and manage the job. In my mind there are four main concerns when choosing a contractor: fair price, quality of work, cooperation of contractor, on-time completion. Jesse is United Iron Works. As the owner, he was my contact. He is knowledgeable, easy to work with, meticulous, a good communicator, and always available. His crew is also knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions throughout the job. I feel we paid a fair price for the project. United's bid was the middle of three and less than half the first bid we got- for the exact same equipment. We are very pleased with the overall project. The fence, double driveway gates, and pedestrian gate look great! The electronic equipment is very sophisticated and Jesse spent time explaining "how to". As it turned out we had a scheduling concern and added a section of fence not included in the original bid. Jesse completed work on each segment of the project on time as planned. Huge shout out to United Iron Works. We had a small emergency on my grandfathers Main home entrance, an old irod rod door that the outer metal piece that secrures the "latch" we could not get the door to close it just hanged without closing. After a quick phone call and texting pics of the repair work, we set up a same day repair within the hour. A new metal piece was quickly welded on teh strike palte and resinforced, order had been restored. I needed some small stair railings and gates at my rental. I wanted it to be simple but provide safety and security. I used Yelp's "free price estimate" to get multiple quotes. The gate to our driveway fell off last week and I needed it to be reinstalled as quickly as possible for safety and privacy purposes. Out of the 10 estimate requests, only 3 would do a reinstall. The rest said they would build a new gate, but that's not what I wanted. Of the other 3, Jesse's was the best price. BEWARE these guys are hacks. Nothing was done to code. Attached wall railings using drywall screws. Hired to install a rail for our stairs. Rail came with many dents and really bad paint work very bad quality. These guys are major hacks. Would not recommend. It cost me 3 times more to fix the damage these guys did to my walls and floors.
