They refused to accept Medicare as payment and I was forced to put the cost from Cape Coral Hospital to Sarasota Hospital on our credit card. They over charged by $300.00. It took 1 year to get reimbursed and I was not able to get the additional $300.00 returned. Medicare would only reimburse their allowed fee. I wrote to the Office of Medicare, the FL Health Dept. and the state senators. A complaint was registered. I don't believe that affects Ambitran or does anything to improve their horrible serviceand practices. Byron Donalds answered, but was unable to take any action. I would like to hope that all the complaints will effect Ambirans business.

What I did not understand was when my Uncle ended up back in the hospital and I needed to reschedule the date they considered that a cancelation and billed us the full amount. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy and I notified them they were on the way to the ER Via ambulance 65 hours ahead. They did agree to refund us some when we rebooked. Then they were supposed to pick my Aunt and Uncle up Friday night, meeting at the facility my Aunt was in. My husband had to wake his Uncle up at 9 pm to get there. Upon arrival my husband was informed they were having issues with the vehicle and would pick them up Saturday morning. They met Saturday morning and the van would not go over 60 miles an hour and they were going to meet another van and transfer them. What should have been a little over 24 hour trip ended up closer to 48 hours. My Aunt has severe dementia and my Uncle has the beginning of dementia along with other health issues. I had looked on the website and saw only good reviews. I did not think to look on your sight first. I will say the on board staff was amazing!
