Government HHG move. Showed up late. Came in showed them what was going and what wasn't. They left and sat in their truck for an hour. Apparently they took photos WITHOUT PERMISSION and without my knowledge and sent them to the military which got me in trouble for having a messy house even though it was messy due to separating into two piles HHG and junk. They then refused to move my HHG and getting me further in trouble with military for getting my HHG move cancelled. Horrible service. read more

This was the company that we were issued for my Navy PCS move. The three guys that showed up on August 28-29 2025 boxed a bunch of my stuff that was not supposed to be boxed(which is partly on me). As well as the old fart running the show who later tampered with our high priced items paperwork after leaving. We own some nice things and in nice condition. So to put down "stained, cracked, scratched, crushed, and broken" on EVERYTHING, so that if when it arrives it has any damage we wouldn't be able to claim it, shady. Also my wife's whole wardrobe box is missing, when I called they said it never arrived to the warehouse. So as you imagine I sit here thinking the worst that a group of old weirdos are sitting in a circle huffing my wife's underwear like the little box trolls they are. I sure hope they see this and find my fkn sht and I'll delete this review and turn into a 5 star for getting off their asses to actually do something good for their reputation and help me out. This company is a complete rip off! they took a deposit and when I tried to cancel the move within 24 hours because I found out that they were not DOT compliant, they blocked my phone number, email. I contacted them via certified mail and sent complaints to the BBB which they ignored and also the DOT federal and within the state of Florida. read more

To start off the company lied about them not be brokers. that is exactly what they do. they take your money then they hire someone else to do the work. the company they used did a decent job but stay away from United. they just want your money then give the job to someone else who also charges you. i'm out over 1300 and will be filing a BBB complaint. read more

I had a few moving companies come in and provide an estimate for my move from southern to northern California. Right off the bat, United Moving agents Sullivan were highly professional and attentive to my needs. Kelly Sullivan in particular was fantastic to work with, providing superior knowledge while still being very friendly. This was my first time utilizing a moving company and Kelly was professional and responsive to my barrage of inquiries, sometimes even on weekends! My movers showed up on time, took great care in packing and loading my things, and I have a delivery set up days in advance so I can plan for it. I feel like they really went above and beyond for me to make sure I was comfortable and knew what to expect. Moving can be so challenging already, I greatly appreciated having their experience on my side. I had more than one change needed on my move and Kelly and her team were quick to acknowledge and implement the changes I needed. After a huge fiasco with PODS, I called United in desperation for help with my out of state move. I spoke with Kelly right out of the gate and within a few hours I had a quote, a representative, and a pick up date. Toni was my moving rep, who called every step of the way to make sure all of my questions were answered and I was kept informed about all of events that were happening in my home state while I was living in an empty apartment. Wes and his son were the movers. They were fantastic and got everything up into my apartment quickly. Every step was organized and I wasn't missing anything. Yes. I'm reviewing a moving company. This was the 3rd company I had do an estimate. They were more professional from the get go. The entire estimate was compiled via Ipad. Full disclosures and discussions about the process were very helpful. We discussed what would save substantial money - shipping flat screen TV's on your own, paying a flat fee for unlimited boxes for self packing. The move itself was efficient and the movers were professional and took care with regard to cleanliness and care of items. The final price came in BELOW ESTIMATE. I would definitely recommend this company for moves. read more

Two stars have been earned by the people who are doing our packing because they are fantastic. The people who are coordinating our move at United DO NOT make military moves a priority. I guess they figure they can't lose our business so they don't care about us OR their employees. We have a house and a 10x20 storage unit. House to be packed one day, and a second day for our storage unit. 1pm on house packing day still with 3 hours to go at least, their boss informs them that they have to do the storage unit today too which is easily another 4 hours with all three. If they don't do it today, we only get one guy on the second day to do everything. My guess is they got a private move and prioritized them over us last minute, screwing us over and their employees (who are very respectful and hard working). This is not only unethical but downright greedy. They clearly prioritize profit over people. read more

Only a one star because I had to put something in order to write a review. My husband is active duty and we were moving from WA to CA, so the government contracted this company for our code 2 move. The team that arrived to pack our items they were very professional and nice, came to pack our goods along with our clothes, which were put into wardrobe boxes. Our itemized list even shows we had wardrobe boxes filled with clothes. Well on the receiving end, when the guys unloaded the truck, we discovered that our clothes were removed from the wardrobe boxes and repacked into bundles that were used for stuffing! They stuffed our clothes in between our furniture and other items. When the guys removed the items from the truck, the bundles were torn and the clothes were exposed to dirt, wrinkled, hangars tore into sweaters, being dragged, etc. This upset me because I saw my clothes in wardrobe boxes and upon arrival, I saw something different, which meant they OPENED THE SEALED CRATES, OPENED OUR PACKED BOXES THAT WE SIGNED AN INVENTORY SHEET FOR, WENT INTO OUR THINGS WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT AND REPACKED OUR GOODS WITHOUT US PRESENT. Not only was I upset, but I felt violated. My husband called the company and spoke with a female who is supposed to be the military liaison, but she kept putting us on hold to talk to someone named Eric and then coming back on the line to relay what Eric had to say. My husband asked to speak to Eric and Eric denied speaking to him! She then transferred us to the Operations Officer (I can't remember his name, but he says he has been in this industry to 39 years) who answered very defensively, spoke very sharp and short. I never experienced this type of poor customer service, especially when the customer is not asking for anything, just wanted an acknowledgement of what happened and maybe an apology. The Operations Officer said that what we were accusing "could never happen" and that he has been in this business for 39 years and "it would never happen". My husband asked him to look at the inventory sheet, because that tells all. It clearly says we had NINE wardrobe boxes from the MBR filled with clothes, but we did not receive a wardrobe box with clothes AT ALL!!! He claimed he was looking at the inventory sheet and towards the end of the call, he suggested that he would investigate and get back to us. That was just a ploy to get us off the line. Lets just say, we are still waiting for that phone call and know that we will never get one because he already knew what happened especially because our pack out was not smooth (there were other issues) or he was looking at the inventory sheet and would not acknowledge their mistake which is why he was so defensive. If you can avoid using this company do, if not, make sure you take pictures and annotate where your items are. Again, I ask, what would we have to gain by lying about how our items were packed? Nothing, because we did not ask you for ANYTHING!!! I will make sure that I tell this to the military when asked how our move went and anyone who asks about your company and posts to any site that I can. read more

This is a warning to all my fellow veterans! These people ask for your credit card number up front so that they can charge whatever they want to on your card. Their workers or movers take an hour and a half lunch break. I called their front office twice and asked the dispatcher where their workers were. Little did I know that they get an hour and a half lunch break. When my bill came in the mail they already had access to my credit card and charged me overtime for their workers or movers lunch break. And don't expect to get your money back for damaged furniture. I had two tables damaged and a lamp. I was denied a claims form because the movers or workers lied to their boss and said that they did not damage anything. These people are scammers. DO not use them. Take it from a 20 year veteran. Find someone else!!!!!! read more

Shawn V. and James P. really helped turned my moving nightmare around. They packed my furniture and belongings in their truck very carefully and quickly; making sure that everything was well secured before heading to my new place. As they unpacked the truck they put my furniture together and organized the boxes for me making my move literally effortless. So this was my first time actually hiring movers without the miltary covering it. We went from Bangor base in silverdale to a new house we purchased in Port Orchard. My quoter was Teri , she was wonderful , very pleasant and professional. They'll have one of their quote people come by your moving location and take a look at what needs to be packed , and how much time it would take to load up everything, so you get a pretty accurate quote. We both knew the move would take no less than 6 hours but she quoted me for 8 hours just to be safe.They gave me the best quote out of everyone. When moving Day came my movers were Ben and Justin, they actually arrived an hour earlier than planned but that was totally fine with me, I wanted to get the move done as early as possible. I will say if you just pack everything yourself it saves you a lot of money, make sure to keep all your tv's boxes and cushions for it, buy mattress bags so they don't box them. I had everything packed and ready with the help of my family so I literally only paid labor. I think it took them 2.5-3 hours to load the truck. Then we drove over to port orchard and the unloading took maybe an hour ? So the moving portion was about 4 hours but then you have to pay them for travel time to and from their warehouse so that added 30 minutes each way. So I totaled a 5 hour move. Which wasn't bad at all. Saved me a few hours from the 8 hour quote. You only pay for the actual time you use. so if they quote you longer than you think it will take , it's just a precaution in case something comes up and it does take longer. As for the movers themselves both men were very nice and professional , they moved quick. They did put like fabric pads on doors they were carrying things through , they had like a long red carpet at the entrance where they kept moving in and out of. They didn't drop anything , there were no damages to any of my boxes or furniture. It was a very successful move. I hope I never have to move again but if I ever do I'd use them or refer them to a friend. read more

A friend used United Van Lines and was please so we used them to move us from Bainbridge Island to Camas WA. It was the worst moving experience I have ever had. The only reason I'm giving it "1" star is because the movers were very nice and polite. Other than that it was a nightmare! They rushed the packing into one day although it was supposed to be 2 days. We had a 4000 square foot house with a huge garage with a full wood working shop. When we they arrived in Camas they were also scheduled for 2 days but did it in one. They broke numerous items. I have a grand piano that I think they had no idea how to load and unload. I was terrified they were going to drop it. They scratched my newly refinished hardwood floors. At the end they were basically throwing things in the garage trying to get done in the one day. They lost many of the bolts needed to reassemble my kind sized bed, lawn furniture and an antique porch swing. They promised to come back and put the items together but never did. I called or texted almost every day to get them to come back but was completely ignored. They left 15 - 20 packing blankets and the grand piano dolly at my house. I eventually took all the items to the dump or gave them to people that came to get my boxes. I paid someone to put the items together and they said they would come take away all my boxes and an inordinate amount of paper that they used to pack my items in return but never did. I cannot say one good thing about them except that they were nice. read more

We had a very good experience with United Moving and Storage during our recent move from the Seattle area to Southern California. Teri Davis, our estimator and moving coordinator, was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about every aspect of our move plus being very helpful. She had prompt answers for all of our questions. Our driver, David Gillespie was great. He, too, was prompt, efficient, careful and helpful. He had a crew who seemed to work well together and he kept things moving along well.
