This has been my 3rd move with them, they did a great job again! The communication is always great, Kevin responds quickly. The movers gave a heads up before arriving. We did a walk through before starting the move and went over what all needed to be moved. They were honest and raised concerns about moving our tv as it's pretty thin, and took extra precautions to pack it. Nothing was damaged during the move. Pros: - easy scheduling and speedy response time - flexible scheduling around our evening move time - friendly workers - fair pricing structure and cash discount - punctual and communicative Cons: - it took 7 hours to move our 2BR apt to a new apt about 10 min away (yes, there were elevators/stairs involved, but...) - we told the movers the one item that wouldn't fit in the elevator was the couch, but they tried to fit it anyway, and they also didn't use the stairwell we suggested (which is the one we used when moving in, so we knew it would work) - because of the extra time, the move cost much more than what we expected - we asked them to pack some of our wall art, and they piled artwork into a box without wrapping it Not sure I'd use this service again. UPDATE: Kevin reached out and apologized for the damage that was done and stated that wasn't typical. He then offered a small refund of $150 for the damage and the experience. Apologizing for a customer experience is great but being asked to remove a review is not okay - even if a refund was given. I was happy to update the review with this information but not take it down. Yelp should be about transparency; this experience I shared differed greatly from others. If I could give it 2 1/2 stars, I would but I can't so the rating remains. ------- If you're looking for movers, it's worth remembering that you get what you pay for. If you see this review and still decide to use Uplift Movers, move all the items you value yourself. While there were some positives, I think the negatives outweighed the experience. At this point, we're seasoned movers, sadly having to move several times in several years. We're 3 days into the new place and we're slowly checking for any damage and have been less than happy with our experience. Let's start with the pros: Pros: - Extremely fast. Eugene (I believe) and his coworker moved the entire place into the truck in 2 hours. - Recommended we wrap up some lentil containers so they won't get damaged in the move. Cons: (from least concerning to worst) - They did not put anything where we labeled in the new space. Other movers looked at the labels on the boxes but they would pack TONS of boxes on one dolly and ask where the entire dolly went. It was hard to know without looking at the boxes. - My box of 45s (records) was turned upside down. Half of the records were out of the sleeves or incorrect order. This led me to believe the box came open during transport and they had to put them back in. They did not tell me about this. - Our bedframe slots were all splintered and damaged. - Our dresser suffered minor damage near the bottom of the drawers. - They broke an art frame. They didn't offer to pack it up in a blanket and yet, they told us to wrap the lentil containers. Hmmm. - The glass shelves from our IKEA RUDSTA display case were completely missing. Gone. We used this to display some games/items but now we don't have them. The case is now unusable. Overall, they responded quickly and offered a pretty fair pricing but I would not recommend them. It is quite perplexing how everyone had such great experiences with them because the missing items are concerning. read more

Just finished my two-part move. (Over 2days). Both segments went very well Eugene and Mike showed up on time. Worked efficiently and quickly. They were very careful with all of my belongings. And were generally very helpful, friendly and polite. Plus their pricing was very reasonable and since they worked quickly, they stayed within the budget as quoted. I would highly recommend the service if Uplift can clearly tell customers how they'll get charged. Booked an end of month move for a one bedroom ~2 weeks in advance via Yelp. It was a pleasant experience. Kevin was really responsive and explained the fee structure with the minimum 3 hour + one-time travel fee requirements and provided a minimum estimate. On the move day, the crew of 3 movers arrived on time and was very professional, handling everything with care, fast and efficient. They were able to complete the move in 80 minutes, which I totally loved. Per my Google Maps timeline, packing probably took 30-40 minutes, driving to the new place took ~20 mins, and the move-in took another ~20 mins. I know I should have booked 2 movers instead of 3. But I don't regret booking 3 awesome movers. Seeing things done fast is just a great pleasure. I have moved around in the area for a few times, and Uplift is second to none when it comes to service quality! The crew did the cost calculation on site and mentioned this 30-min travel time needed to be billed separately in addition to the minimum 3 hours and the one-time travel fee, which was new to me but I did not doubt at all. I was like "yeah.. probably I did not read carefully enough what Kevin sent me". Then yesterday I was checking my monthly spendings, and realized the additional 30-min commute time was not previously communicated to me. Kevin's minimum estimate (3 hrs + one-time travel fee) was different from what I got billed (3 hrs + one-time travel fee + separate and additional 30min travel time). I further checked on their web site and the additional 30min travel time did not get mentioned anywhere. We hired Uplift Movers a second time and once again they did an excellent job! This time we moved from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 3-bedroom rambler. Firstly, communication with Kevin has always been easy: very prompt and detailed responses. Getting a quote and setting up the appointment took just a few email exchanges. Secondly, and most importantly, the move went without a hitch. One of the movers (Arthur) was there for our previous move and was just as efficient and professional this time around. His coworker was also outstanding, although I forgot his name. The three movers worked hard and were extremely efficient. I was impressed by how quickly they completed the move. I thought they had exactly the right balance of care and efficiency with our furniture. My only reservation about Uplift Movers was the surprise $90 "stair fee" that was added on. When I requested a quote, the pricing was explained clearly, and everything else about the pricing was exactly as quoted, but no "stair fee" was mentioned in the quote. When the movers arrived, the one doing the paperwork asked if there were stairs at the destination. I said yes, we're moving into a two-story home. He said that there would be either a $60 or $90 stair fee then, depending on how much stuff had to go upstairs at the destination. I was unimpressed by this surprise fee, especially hearing about it in the first five minutes that they arrived, but I was so impressed by everything else about their work that followed that I still have to give them five stars and recommend them highly. One of my friends was moving and kept asking if we'd go to help him fill the Uhaul and all of us said, and I quote, "we're over thirty, there's no way we're going to break our backs helping move your stuff." Uplift movers just did a great job for us. It was Kevin, the owner, and Alex, one of his crew who did the move. They arrived 10 min early, with masks on and ready to go. We had about 60 moving boxes, 25 flat packs of art work 2 curio cabinet, and 3 large rugs to move from our lower-level, to a storage locker a few miles away. Before selecting them I checked Yelp reviews and got a few quotes. Uplift had great reviews and I liked their reasonable pricing, the flat-rate fuel charge, and the fact the only count the time they are on site...not travel time to and from their shop. They offer 5% discount for cash payment too. Everything went smoothly, and the guys were very careful. They brought all the padding, taping and stretch-wrap supplies, but we needed little, as we had pre-packed everything. Before starting, I had sketched out how I wanted things loaded into the storage locker, and showed that to them. When loading the items in, they remembered and placed things accordingly. My experience was good both on scheduling and with the movers. Radu & his "brother" came on time and moved quickly, but carefully. Everything was accounted for and carefully unloaded, placed and had been wrapped in blankets if it was at all fragile. My belongings were put away at the proper place and assembled if necessary. Every box was labeled and put in the right general area. Their rates are better than most other companies, I liked their start time is recorded when they arrive at your residence, and they clocked out at your new address, which's more reasonable than other moving companies that charge from their location end to end. Kevin reached out to me yesterday morning to apologize for the issues I'd gone through. He seemed very understanding of each issue I brought up and went one by one addressing them with empathy. I felt like he really heard what I was saying, and instead of being defensive, was able to and understand where I was coming from. He acknowledged that the complaints and the tipping comment was uncalled for and that it was definitely not OK. He assured me he would talk to his employees and tell them that they cannot speak like that to their customers. In good faith, he also offered to give me back my $60 tip and confirmed that he would not be expecting his employees to pay this back. Things definitely can go wrong when it comes to customer service-related businesses, but I think it's more about how a company works to resolve issues and make things right that matters. Moved with Uplift Movers at the end of Sept, from a 1BR Condo in Seattle to a home in Kirkland. Overall, went very well, smooth, and offered the best rates. Scheduling: easy, worked with I believe... Kevin? on the scheduling. He got me set-up and I'm thankful I reached out early because other slots seemed unavailable. On the day of the move, they were running really late and told me 30 minutes before scheduled time - that was a little stressful because our condo had some stringent moving-time rules for the elevator. They got another moving crew to take our job instead (same company, different moving team). Thanks for making that work! Move: They moved several boxes, took apart the bed (that's not easy to do on your own), and carefully handled furniture. I also added on another stop for them to pick up new furniture we had bought at Macy's in Lynnwood. Rates were fair, team was very well-coordinated, and relatively professional. They did break our lego ship and airplant holder which kind of sucked (couldn't redo the legos because they dropped it on the ground back in Seattle and lost the pieces, and didn't say so until end of our move in Kirkland). But that's ok, at the end of the day, I always expect something to break during a move and I'll take the hit there. The crew was great. 100% worth it. Price was very fair. 1. They Farm you out to other sub contractors. I don't know if they do any of their own business or just operate as a middle man. 2. Their subcontractor used hand trucks to go down a 2 story walk up. The constant hammering of one step after another destroys everything. 3. I Packed almost everything into Rubbermaid roughneck totes, these are nearly indestructible. But their method destroyed them, and they insisted on putting things marked fragile on the bottom. These totes have really nice handles they refused to use. 4. I yelled at them, begged for them to just carry the tubs, they told me "We know what we're doing". I asked several times to not use the hand trucks. They just dismissed me. 5. A negative review is met almost instantly with harassing phone calls. The calls have continued. DO NOT USE UPLIFT!!! As things are still ongoing, will try to update here for anything new. === previous === An extra of $120 was charge onsite for moving my adjustable bed frame. Reason being, it is heavy. My adjustable bed frame is not over weighted (less than 200 lb, less than 140 lb to be exact) and unlike a traditional bed frame it does not require disassembling. It could be folded and moved like one piece which is less than half of normal ones. (Of course, I also asked them if they could disassemble if needed and they confirmed with YES) While moving, the apartment door was scratched, the laser measure tool was broken. Also, the mattress was not wrapped as promised. For which, I am either having an allergic reaction to sth unknown or some bug bites. Since not everything has been unpacked yet, I will have to deal with any other loss/damage. read more

These guys moved me in the middle of COVID. That's the only positive. The movers were rude and verbally agressive when after damaging my items in the move, and I reported it in (after paying their insurance costs to them). The mover called and yelled at me. I called to speak with the owner/manager. He pushed me off. I had to email them, again he pushed off and didn't want to take the responsibility for broken furniture. I had to go out and get quotes for repairs and in the middle of the pandemic there have just been delays on some of this. I've gotten back to him and he is refusing to pay me back. He was never going to pay me back. He just wanted to waste my time, and push things out hoping I got sick and forgot. Shame on this company. Look elsewhere! read more

If you need a mover that is reliable and professional, this is it. They responded fast when I requested quote. These guys were one of the cheapest(others were between 175 - 110/hr) and charge from the point when they get to the house (not when they leave their office like most other guys). They were very gentle with the furnitures, didnt waste single minute when they were moving the stuffs. No hidden fees(those Mexican people we picked up for my last move, they charged hidden fees), they even deducted 10 mins from their timer. I'm so glad I went with these guys. Uplift Movers was amazing. We had to move a 2600 sq foot house to another house at the same time. And we told of stuff, and I mean a lot of stuff. I requested a 3 person crew because I was fearful of the move ending super late. On the morning of the move, Kevin showed up with only one person, I admit I was nervous. Kevin explained that their third person injured themselves the pervious day but please be assured him and the other person would do a great day. What was I going to say to that? I needed to be moved. Anyways, 8 hours later and 2 trips to the old house, my family was fully moved into our new home. Nothing was broken, Kevin and his team was in good spirit even after I asked them to remove several items from an already packed truck. They had an excellent price/hr. $90/hr for a 2 person crew. You can certainly afford a move with this price. I recommend Uplift Movers to everyone. read more

Usually I use Yelp to highly rate businesses I love, so I feel a little bad about posting here, but I do feel like there's some things other consumers should know about Uplift. My major concerns are: we were told today that they don't want to move any electronics. That's not what's represented on the website and not what was communicated to us -- and would presumably be a big problem for any other consumer -- so thought I would mention that as we found it very strange (especially in Seattle, a major major tech hub.) Second major concern: I totally respect a company's right to deny service for any and all reasons -- that part is fine (and indeed what happened to us today -- more on that below.) However, our movers did unfortunately decide to talk smack about us and our home today (in Russian.) I'm not a native nor fluent Russian speaker, but I do happen to watch a lot of major international sporting events, so I can understand conversational Russian (and a few other languages) pretty well. I actually also respect employees' right to talk smack -- on their own time. Keep it to e.g. your truck, alone, together. Talking ill of a customer in front of them is just plain rude, and assuming they can't understand you is unwise (again, especially in the Seattle area, where a lot of people actually are eastern european.) Uplift actually came very highly recommended by several colleagues and, obviously, also Yelp reviews, so we're pretty surprised by our experience. I will say we cannot rate their actual moving ability since we didn't get to move with them. We scheduled a full service move (e.g. entirety of the packing, all of the transport, etc) between our apartment in Cap Hill and new home in Redmond. I stated both in Yelp messages and via email the size of our apartment, the expectation that we needed everything packed (we're both busy professionals and simply don't have time to do it ourselves), etc. I felt I was very up front about our situation. I even offered, multiple times, to provide a video walkthrough of our apartment ahead of time, as several other moving companies request or even require. I did not receive a response to those offers via email which, in hindsight, I probably should've taken as a warning. I did think it was a little bit odd that Uplift had not wanted--nor taken me up on the offer of providing--more information about specific inventory or pictures/video. When the movers arrived for our move today, they took one look at our apartment, laughed (also a professionalism concern, quite frankly; I was walking them through my apartment and pointing out things that didn't need to be moved and, at the end of my monologue, said something like "I'm happy to answer any questions you may have" and was met literally with a laugh and "Questions???" response.) Then our movers informed us that this was a much bigger job than they were expecting. Truthfully, I actually have a lot of sympathy here: I would never want our movers to be caught off guard or feel unprepared like that. However, I am not sure how that happened, since I think I was pretty open and honest via email that we needed everything packed. Perhaps there was a communication breakdown between the office and the moving employees? I am really not sure. The movers then called their manager -- again, fine, totally what I would expect -- and then more or less told us they didn't want the job. Again: I'm actually totally fine with the outcome of 'no.' One other moving company did turn us down because they only wanted a small move/didn't provide packing services. Cool! No problemo. But that's something I would've expected to learn immediately after emailing that we needed full packing -- and that's not when we learned this about Uplift. We learned this about Uplift weeks later, in person, on the scheduled date of our move. Obviously this has caused us huge problems now. I am not really sure what happened here. It seems like our movers did not expect to be packing anything, but again: not sure how that happened, since we did specify that in writing. Our apartment is cluttered -- pots and pans are out of their cabinets so they can be easily packed by room, same for certain other items -- and it does seem like the movers were turned off by the appearance of having a lot of things to pack. Again, totally respect that they wouldn't want that job! But that should've been communicated to us a long, long time ago. One mover did choose to call the clutter "dirty" which I will take issue with, but did not take any review points for, as there is the aforementioned language barrier (perhaps -- giving benefit of the doubt.) We have a cleaning lady who comes routinely: there isn't anything gross in our apartment, save for my cat's litter box, which of course we would never, ever expect them to touch. (I also would've happily moved it out of sight if that was the issue; they didn't say. I can only guess, as that's the only truly "dirty" thing around.) read more
